After this idiot "Gad" redirected a valiant question about the search for jewish belongings to the german and russian embassies I just said that a search between Poles might have as much success...

Ever read Jan Gross' "Fear" or "Neighbours" (about Jedwabne)? Famous book...outside of Poland I think....some reading would help you out...of course anti-polish crap I know....

But like Tran presented it that Germany must be restraint...as in let's bond together against Germany because she is so influential!
But we can't help it...we ARE that big and rich and all...there is nothing we could do other than mutilate us voluntarily to become smaller and poorer...
If that is really the way for Tran and Co that bears nothing good for the future and Poland will always have difficulties with Germany.

I think the feelings of anger and hate are totally natural.
And it is also natural to have more compassion and empathy for your own folks than for other people.
Now putting it into perspective and don't hate the "today people" and also have compassion for other folks is more rational.
Most people can do it...some have problems....a few can't do it at all (those who are very emotional) and are trapped!
You find every kind of those in all peoples....
I know its all the history we learn.. i wasnt born then.. so why should I feel this
anger? but I re assessed my feeling to be directed at people who do in-human things
even though it didnt change much .. because then we get into a whole bigger picture

When I listen to stories about the horrors of the bombing of german cities or from people who suffered the Vertreibung I feel hate too...even if I never experienced that myself!

It's not the books in the first place I think....
It's rather that WWII was the first war really totally captured on film...that was a first and makes it so special and so lingering.
I doubt that the misery of WWII was more cruel than the misery of every other war...but the cruelties of the thirty years war or the roman enslavement of whole
peoples can't as easy be seen and experienced as watching newsreels from WWII...so that impresses more I think...

In our germanic mythology Odin has his own two Ravens, Hugin and Munin, he sends them every morning out to gather news what happened on Earth and between his humans and in the evening they come back and tell him everything there is to know...smart birds!
