Life / Culture Shock Since Moving to Poland - Anybody Dealt With This Before? [52]

It's culture shock

I was 8 years old when I moved to Poland.
It was HARD!!!!! The teachers were mean! People in the stores looked mad all the time, had to pay for using the toilet, people kiss you on the cheek, no corn flakes, etc. But I adjusted after a few years.

You will either have to get out of there fast or accept it and start living, breathing and acting like a Pole and get into the groove, man.

UK, Ireland / What is in Poland that England doesn't have? [142]

From my observations:
In England you can ride a horse in Hyde park. There are more people riding horses in England than in Poland.
In England you see a lot of english breeds of dogs, such as the Border Collie, Basset Hound, King Charles Spaniels also lots of them Lurchers and Bobtails.

In Poland there are lots of German Shepherds and Dachshunds. Must have been left there by the Germans after the war. Also Owczarek Podhalański and Owczarek Nizinny are more popular in Poland than in England.

News / THOUSANDS OF YOUNG ISRAELIS FLOODING POLAND [93]

Now why would they go and do something silly like this?, can't we just stay enemies :)

Revenue?
It's sad that Israelites come to Poland without any respect. They should be screaned before thay come and have only those who are interested allowed to come and Poland should make them responsible for the damages. They should be responsible for their actions and respect another country. If they hate Poland, why do they come.

Many blacks in America have the same mentality that they were slaves over 1000000 years ago so now America has to pay for this. geeez, stop living in the past!

Where were the Jews before they lived to Poland? Go after them!

Life / What should be done to make life in Poland better and more enjoyable? [94]

1. Clean up the poop after your dog on the sidewalks.
2. Put more garbage cans everywhere. Too much garbage and cigarette butts blowing around.
3. Believe in yourself and don't rely on what others think of you. Don't try to impress others with how much money you have and what kind of car you got. Be self sufficient.

4. Don't drink and smoke so much then complain you have no money!!!
5. For God's sake SMILE!!!! It makes you look younger! (unless your teeth are yellow from the nicotine)

Food / Mushroom Picking Parties (Poland tradition) [74]

Horse manure is good for mushrooms. I got lots of it. You can come and get it.
I love mushrooms, got a mushroom growing kit once but there were too many flies.
Maybe the horse manure is a bad idea....

Love / Need help in relationship with a Polish man [33]

Come on girl. Get rid of him!! He will always be dependent on you. Stand on your own feet! You have to get control of your life, Don't let him! It willl only get worse in time and you'll one day get so fed up that you'll get into a big argument and break up.

I know Polish people here in the US and even though they've been in this country for 10, 20 years, they still need help with letters, taxes, translations, etc. They always will feel that they are from a foreign country and everyone has to help them.

Find another friend. And even if he is Polish, he might be more ambitious and try to learn the english language so not to be dependent on others.

So it might be hard, but from what you're saying, this guy will be using you to help him in life and you get nothing in return. Many Poles are like that when they come to a foreign country. They think you owe them to help them get ahead, while your feelings don't mean anything. It is always them.

This is your life, you should control it, not him.

I have dated black men, white and others but I have not had sex with all thats just nasty.

Wow, you've been around. What's wrong with having only one partner whom you love instead of screwing everything and anything that comes your way?

Food / need a mushroom soup recipe [15]

There are diffrent ways of making mushroom soup. Here's a simple version:

8-12 oz mushrooms
4 cups beef, chicken or mushroom stock
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 tablespoon flour
pinch of marjoram or parsley
salt
pepper

Boil the soup base. Slice mushrooms. Melt butter on and fry mushrooms. Dump it all into the stock. Boil about 15 minutes, thicken with flour mixed with sour cream and some soup base. Add seasoning and heat another 5 minutes but don't let it boil.
