Love / Polish men with Scottish Girlfriends [66]

Maybe they have not been together for very long? Maybe their relationship is still in the early stages and the novelty has not worn off yet? Only time will tell.

UK, Ireland / Some EXAMPLES of salaries of Poles working and living in the UK. [49]

Thats what I love about Holland. Meet someone in a bar or cafe in the UK its all " whats your name?where do you come from?and what do you do for a living? (not how much do you earn, more whats your social status...) where as in Holland the last question nearly never comes up,atleast, not as an initial gauge of a person.

Wroclaw Boy wrote:

Whenever I was in Poland, they always have a strange set of questions to try and gauge your income or more to the point your disposable income. Do you have a flat? How much do your earn? How much is the rent for your flat? Do you have a car? What size engine has it? And the last and most stupid question of all always asked by a Pole in Poland. How many liters of petrol does your car burn over a one hundred kilometer distance?

Also, be careful not to mix up the Polish word czy and czyli meaning 'that is to say'.

. the secret is, you gotta give 'em something better at home so they forget about their drinking buddies ;).

I think that this is true certainly at the beginning of a relationship but later on its is just dominance and control. I always remember my friend from my school days. I rang him up to ask if I could go and see him. "Oh, yes, that would be nice until I hear his wife's voice in the background, "David, I thought that I told you that I do not want any visitors here today". He was scolded like a poor little child. Suddenly silence, he was embarrased but I helped him and let him off the hook. I really hate it when I see a man totally dominated by a bloody woman!

Language / What does "czy" mean? [37]

o "czy" corresponds to "whether/if" in composed sentences.

No, I would have thought that the Polish word czy is more or less the same thing as est-ce-que in French meaning in effect, 'is it that...?' Czy begins most sentences unless inversion takes place or you say the same sentence in the same order and use a different tone to create the question.

Life / A Polish Priest lying about freemasons [57]

. HE CLAIMED IN FRONT OF AN ENTIRE CONGREGATION THAT A WHILE BACK FREEMASONS HAD BEEN INDICTED FOR BLOWING UP A CATHOLIC CHURCH. Now this is all lies the church he said was blown up never was blown up! There is no evidence for this yet all of the poles eat it up.

The Freemasons is a private society and the Polish Roman Catholic Church would have no knowledge of such secret ocurrences. The Roman Catholic Church in Poland DEMANDS obedience from its followers. Remember, fear of the unknown is a good motivator to keep people in line. The church in Poland needs money and that comes from the congregation. It is the worshipers who are poor and NOT the church. Bloody rich vicars with a BMW or two and a nice girl friend in the countryside. Can't be bad!

75 years old is young to you?

Today in Poland, it is very rare indeed to find man living so long. Sixty five is the max. It is the harshness of the life and also, I am sure, the lead in the paint! I have smelt it everywhehe in Poland. It is outlawed in England but the Poles love their lead paint. The smell is dreadful and God only knows what they are breathing in.

Life / Styles in Poland: What do people wear? [65]

Polish women spend a lot of time and money on buying expensive cloths. They love to dress up and look nice. There is nothing really wrong with this. It is typical of working class people to spend so much time trying to impress. To me, it is always a sign of their inferiority complex.

I do not know about today's rates but Polish doctors used to earn very little indeed. Mind you, the medical care in Poland is dire and everybody dies very young indeed. The grave yards are full to over flowing. Better to stay away all together.

oland has come so far and even better than many of the countries surrounding it. I t will have its ups and downs like the rest

No, this is simply not true. The other countries around Poland have done much better than Poland. The Czech Republic is now simply light years ahead of Poland and is a much smaller country too.

Life / A Polish Priest lying about freemasons [57]

It is well known around the World that the Polish Roman Catholic Church is vile and corrupt. Poland, like most third world countries seems to be transfixed by Catholicism. Poland needs to rid itself of cigarettes, alcohol and the blood church.

Yes it is true. For years I would try and write in English and would use Russian letters. It is a well known fact that children from foreign families have a big disadvantage in school. End of story. I know what I am talking about and if you do not agree with me, then so be it. Do I care? Do I need silly translations from people on this Forum? I can write in Russian. Can you?

it sounds good and idyllic to know two languages and I suppose it is but there has been research (by whom, I have no idea) but in young children who speak a different language at home, they are slower at reading and writing skills in class. Later in life, I know it is nice to be able to go abroad and have that certain advantage over other people.

est things you can do is make sure that if you have kids, they learn both english and polish. don't let them lose their heritage.

This is not always a good idea. It has been proven that children living in a dual language environment are then later backward at school and are certainly more prone to suffer from learning difficulties. If his mother speaks to you in Polish I would tell her not to be so rude in the first place!

UK, Ireland / Paying tax in the UK??? Then you're breaking the law!! [41]

Yes Wroclaw I am paying Polish tax. However this is something that is pecific in English/Welsh law. The International Criminal Court Act. There's a link on the first post.

You are an idiot. Poland too is supporting the war. How are you paying Polish taxes if you live in Byker? Has Poland increased its borders westwards?

I think the main differences are that the Polish tend to drink more than other races. Time will tell if there is enough for two people from different cultures to stay together.

Life / Gay scene good in Poland? [66]

I have never been there but what about Prague in the Czech Republic? They are used to having loads of tourists and they say the city is beautiful and the beer is excellent and even more important-cheap! I would have thought that they would be fairly opened minded. You can be gay in Poland and even met a few in Warsaw. I was walking down a side street in the Old Town and passed three men walking in a line. The middle man was really big and gave me a strong stare. I was a little worried that they may turn on me for some reason but they just walked on by. A little bit further on they stopped and one of the smaller men to his side stopped and turned on him and gave him a lovely big kiss! I imagine that the gay scene in Warsaw succeeds like in any city around the World.

UK, Ireland / Paying tax in the UK??? Then you're breaking the law!! [41]

That's total bollox. Firstly the person who drinks and then drives is wholly responsible for drink driving. It has absolutly nothing to do with anybody else who owns a car and buys petrol. It's the person who goes into the pub/shop buys alcohol, drinks it and then drives. No one else.

Exactly-the very point I was making. So why is it that anybody who works and pays taxes is supporting an illegal war in Iraq? It is the same thing as I was showing.

UK, Ireland / Polish people in UK not reporting crime. [26]

In theory at least, the law is supposed to protect everybody equally, foreign or not. In fact, even if you are attacked in this country and you are illegally here, you have the same right to protection as a British citizen.

Thus the paying of taxes, or that proportion of taxes which goes towards supporting that contuinued military activity or any infrastructure that allows those military activities to continue, including the pa

The legal requirement to pay taxes has nothing to do with legality of wars. I own a car and drive it buying petrol. I am therefore aiding and abetting others who drink and drive and kill people with their own cars because I am helping, through taxation, to keep the roads in good condition. People who work in shops are also breaking the law of moral codes if those same shops sell cigaretts because they kill people. Where the hell do you end with this argument? Taxation in England started to finance the French Wars all those years ago and Parliament is sovereign declaring war on anybody it wants to if a majority is reached in the House of Commons.

how can you be illegal in UK, if you're Pol

Yes, but who is really Polish? There are lots of people entering Poland from the former Soviet Union who are buying Polish passports. Then, these 'new' people are entering the E.U. and the job markets.

UK, Ireland / Polish people in UK not reporting crime. [26]

One of the main problems is that it is well known that police detection rates of small crime is very low indeed. perhaps it might be different in cases of murder and other serious crimes because they put all their resources in to detection? Maybe the Polish are suspicious of the police and their corruption? Eastern European police forces were very corrupt indeed. Also, another thing is that a lot of these so called Poles are Russians and other ex Russian satellite state with false passports. There is a strong possibility that these so called victims of crime fear detection themselves should they approach the police.

Life / Why are Polish people cheap? [126]

give it as aid. now no one can say that poles does not contribute to the British economy now!

This is not true. The evidnece suggests that having all these working class Poles in england now is costing us considerably more than they are contributing. The schools are over full and the hospitals can not cope. I think these figures should be added up and the Polish government should pick up the bill.
