News / Searching for keys in Polish-Russian relations [75]

Salomon and Ironside, you are representatives of two neighboring countries - Russia and Poland. Your talking is always filled with hatred and arrogance. You are nasty little boys, who dream of something and **** in their beds. I don't care actually about both of ya. I know some good people from both countries who grew up and are intelligent, move forward and we enjoy each other's company. Listen, I don't care what Poland does to AK, Dmowski, other issues; I don't care what Russia does to Stalin, Lenin and KGB. It is not my business and I am not interested in that. You, on the other hand, constantly whine and tell others what to do about their heroes. Who in the f*** are you? And Salomon, this is the last sentence I want to address to you: you are worthless pathetic russian scum.

So? Of course, UPA for us is a liberating army. How is it difficult to understand? There were murders of Polish civilians by some, but in general UPA fought Russian, German and Polish oppressors. Crazy soldiers are everywhere and horrible things happen during the war. AK murdered 20,000 Ukrainian civilians in 1943-44. Even if it was in so-called retaliation, it is still murder and if you want to judge UPA, judge your Armija Krajowa as well. If you are not willing to do that, then stop pretending on anything. "Rezuny" and other BS, tell your grandma, not me. Look at yourself and what you did in 400 years and then look in my eyes and say that all of them were murderers. Stop whining and grow up. Do you want to praise your "rezuny" - go ahead praise, build memorials and stuff. I don't give a smallest interest in it. But don't tell me who is my hero and who did what for my country. Keep your nose in your plate or French kiss Russians as I see you like so often doing.

pawian

Pawian, I agree on all that you said. I am very glad that pure reasoning and understanding without childish pretense are in your words. Poland and Ukraine will be able to reach so much if there are more people like you. Also

Polish elites from left to right have been unanimous on this since 1991. Poland was the first country which acknowledged the independent Ukrainian state.

is very appreciated by Ukrainians. Thanks.

History / Poland and Ukraine [240]

Ironside, a little info for you, because I know you love history:
The Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia (Ruthenian: Галицко-Волинскоє Королѣвство, Latin: Regnum Galiciæ et Lodomeriæ), or Galicia-Vladimir, was a principality in post-Kievan Rus in the late 12th century and existed until the middle of the 14th century. It is also called Galicia-Volynia, Halych-Volhynia, Galicia-Volyn, and Galich-Volyn.

Western Galicia-Volhynia extended between the rivers San and Wieprz in what is now south-eastern Poland, while eastern territories covered the Pripet Marshes (now in Belarus) and upper Southern Bug in modern-day Ukraine. During its time, the kingdom was bordered by Black Ruthenia, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Principality of Turov-Pinsk, the Principality of Kiev, the Golden Horde, the Kingdom of Hungary, the Kingdom of Poland, the Principality of Moldova and the Monastic State of the Teutonic Knights.

Along with Novgorod and Vladimir-Suzdal, it was one of the three most important East Slavic powers to emerge from the collapse of the Kievan Rus'.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galicia-Volhynia

It is interesting how you choose the time 1939. Now let's German choose time and then Ukrainians choose time and then French will choose their time because it is convenient to them. What if France picks up France in 1812? Where is Poland? Nowhere. So stop it because picking times is nonsense and I know you know it.

And also I am not sure about that Black Ruthenia. Where was it? And who lived there? You know? I am not sure.

History / Poland and Ukraine [240]

Pity that this is it, but why you spit in the neighbor's backyard and expect me to sit still and listen to your stories? I say Ukraine has its roots in Kijivska Rus' - how difficult it is for you to understand? You seem a bit out of yourself. I am not imagining things. Simple facts. Criminals are on both sides of the border, crimes were commited by both, so I consider we have to move on and have a nice halbu of beer somewhere in Lviv or Gdansk sometime and talk like friends and not like enemies. Sorry, I called you eel, it was a little metaphore, don't be offended and I take it back. Anyway, have a nice day, Ironside.

History / Poland and Ukraine [240]

Land we talked about since middle ages belongs to Poland and was part of the Crown you cannot put it aside, you could claim as well that Provance should not be part of France - good luck!

But this is exactly what you claim, Ironside. Did you move to my side of argument now? If you can't claim that Provance isn't part of France, you cannot bring your nonsense of Polish borders beyond what they are today. Now stop turning around like an eel who doesn't know how to get back to water.

You claim to speak for Ukraine yet you live in Canada in the land where after IIww many ukrainian war criminals run away to. Among them were haters which stirret up simple people to commit barbaric atrocitys and prepetrators as well. So I advice you to be carefull from whom you are learning your history

The same can be said of Poland - many war criminals live in your country or moved to England, France or to the very Canada. They are unpunished as well and you keep learning from them history - be careful.

One matter is certain though, whitout imigration from Kingdom of Poland there had been nothing much - almost empty land.

Absolutely right. People from Kijivska Rus' flew into the cosmos or even better they discovered America well before Columbus and emmigrated from the rich lands of Ukraine onto American continent. I actually see some similarity in Indians, they look very Cossack-like. Hmm, interesting. Then rzeczpospolity moved into the empty territory and began fighting with each other because of differences in religion, language, culture etc. I would start a book in your place in stead of wasting precious time with me over here.

it would not be just to grant them land where blood of their innocent victisms sank.

Would it be just for Poles even to pretend on the territories where they spilled so much Ukrainian blood for over 400 years, hm..?! How old are you? Try to wake up, Ironside. I am frankly tired of this childish nonsense.

Pawiam, I am calm. I really don't give a crap. I live by today, not in the past. My presence on this forum is based solely on the idea that I can make people believe that whatever was - was and we need to move forward. If you need to prove something which is 900 years old while you can not prove what you ate two days ago - then what is the point. It is good that you have an interest in history. I think that you know more already than I do. So good luck and if you find which version is closer to you, tell me, no matter in whose support it goes and please, explain me why. I'll be very interested. I have to go know, but see you sometime around here. Have a nice day.

History / Poland and Ukraine [240]

Who can explain?

Russians as a nation can trace their roots to Juri Dolgorukij who pillaged Kijiv and built Moscow in 12th century. There is no more connection to Kijiv Rus' and Russia than that. Kijiv to Ukrainians is like Krakow to Poles and Paris to French, historical and national capital from the beginning.

History / Poland and Ukraine [240]

Remember, it's not only the polish dead...many millions more, a devastated continent....all for some petty revenge and border changing...was it worth it?

Of course, not. But you see how many now again stir up the border conflict? What do you want, Ironside and Salamon? Do you want bloodshed again? Do you want see your kids and wives die in a war? Stop your nonsense about borders. The lands Ukraine has was, is and will be historically Ukrainian no matter what you try to present in here. I see some of you still suck up to the idea that somebody will grant you something. You have your land and enjoy it. Could, would, should - big mouths as was mentioned in here before.

You live 65 years after the war and it taught you nothing. You continue building grudge and pretense on foreign territories occupied by you for so long. Why were there people who believed in support of Germans at the beginning of the war? Are you supprised by that? I am not. You are masochistic freaks, you like pain and death. You want it to perpetuate.

anyways Germany supported ukrainian terrorist organizations and trained germans living in Poland to act as a support for German Army and to sabotage Polish defences.

local paramilitary strzelcy groups and terrorized the Ukrainian population under the pretext of maintaining law and order. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Ukrainian_minority_in_Poland

Listen, if there was no UPA and similar organizations in Ukraine as well as writers, political activists, simple people who believed in themselves, their culture, language and religion, I would, probably, be someone else, but definately not a Ukrainian. Because of UPA, OUN, partisans who gave their lives to fight stszelcy terrorists, Russian invasion as well as German nazis later, I am who I am. There were cases where innocent died, but this is a war and they died on both sides. So be so kind and don't teach your kids and future generations of hatred and other shi* because they will do whatever was done 65 years ago again.

As happens I know a lot about terrytories behind border, I hve poperty there which someone else has, as for Kiev I dont care for it's all just talk!!

You know nothing, neither of Lviv, nor of Pereemyshel'. I posted for you the history of both cities in the Taras Bulba file. Read it, historian!

The real face of the Ukraine is in Kiev not Lwów or Canada.

And face of Poland in Krakow, not in Marienburg, Danzig or Posen.

I doubt it very much that you understand me, dont flatter yourself I don't hate you....

I don't say you hate me - I am simply mentioning your statement somewhere (I couldn't find it) about haters in Ukraine and I said the same of Poland. I think we should have long time ago found some understanding, Ironside. Don't you see that people like Salamon - Russian scum-head enjoys it.

That's nosense, terrytory we talking about should belong to Poland and never was part of ukraine in anysense.

Poland is whatever it is and Ukraine is whatever it is. Our borders are untouchable. If you start to recall who was were and for how long, you will do nothing just worsen the relationship. Kievan Rus had Przemysl and Teutonic knights had Gdansk, Tatars had Crimea and Corsica was an independant island. What do you propose? SHould, would, could is for kids. Let's talk sense here, Ironside.

History / Poland and Ukraine [240]

Absolutely, Trevek. I didn't know about that cemetary. Thanks.

Salamon, you found horrible photos of killed children and women and you put it : Polish village after Ukrainians. How dare you, sick fcuk!

On February 23, 1944 it is alleged that two of the Division's units (the 4th and 5th regiments) - the Division was in training until May, 1944 - took part in a police action against Soviet and Polish Armia Krajowa partisans in the village of Huta Pieniacka, which had served as a shelter for Jews

Interesting sentence wouldn't you say? Allegedly they took part in a police action against Soviet and Polish AK Armies + the place where it happened was a shelter for Jews (which I can feel implies that they also were killed by Ukrainians).

The SS Division Galicia or 14th Grenadier Division of the Waffen SS 'Galicia' (1st Ukrainian) was a military formation in the Waffen-SS and SS, during World War II. Formed in 1943 of volunteers from Galicia in western Ukraine

Volunteers. You have different people in every country, you can't have 'em all perfect and have the same opinion about the enemies, right?

UK, Ireland / POLES SUPERIOR TO BRITS? [260]

In fact the border regions were stripped to a minimum

Wrong. Many heavy machinery and army were located at Ukrainian-Bielorus'-Polish border. Soviet army was preparing for attack. Again it lost heavily in first days of the war by simple fact of shoving its forces too far into the frontal line as it became when Germans suddenly attacked. Again Soviet Union wanted to attack Nazi forces first.

Not realized because Germans attacked first. In first days of war 20% of ammunition, tanks, planes and defensive systems were destroyed by Nazi forces because Soviet Union all allocated it along the very border preparing itself for attack.

Kazaki which you are talking about are remnants of the Ukrainian Cossacks that emmigrated to some parts of Kazan' etc. They are decendants of real Ukrainian Cossacks, no argue.

Of course, they used each other to fight common enemy - what is wrong in here?
Yes, these people are suppressed by me, Salamon.

from 1360?

You are tough, but we are tougher :) Nobody messes with Ukrainian Cossacks :)

Germans too lost many people innocent as well but nobody in his right mind is trying to equal it with the victims of the IIIR.

Because Germans fought on the foreign lands. The same pertains to Polish.

No they had haters like you to said it!

Likewise Polish had haters, so I see we understand each other.

Germany?

I mentioned Germany because there are some discussions of Slavia (wtf is it?) and cutting the territories of other countries - one of them was Germany.

In my opinion Russians are absolutely right when they cliam that Ukraine is too nationalistic country.

Yes, especially russians can say that after murdering millions of people, nations and cultures. Of course, we are.

They better watch out :)

In case of Ukrainians membership in NATO there is going to be home war.

Nobody is planning to go into NATO, just stupid politicians trying to stir the population and wake up no-dead yet older generation.

Russian language population received 12 times less state funds then the tiny Romanian-speaking population in 2005-2006.

Romanians constitute 1% of population of Ukraine as of 1989 and they received 12 times more funding than Russian schools? ;) I wish it was true.

your words on this forum done much harm to the ukrainian cause.

Zajac said that if someone lost all family in the vicius barbarian action committed by Ukrainian peasants then his action can be explained.
You however are implying that they olso had some reasons and equal it with Polish reaction to the massacers.

No, they just woke up one early morning and said: why don't we go and kill some humans for no reason whatsoever.

Where there some innocent people killed by Poles? Possibly but not many

So you propose to calculate liters of blood on each side here?

You on the other hand are unable to understand much in any language.

Unfortunately for you, I do.

In 1930s territory we were talking about was Polish, yet another example of your unability to provide logical argument you simpleton

Occupied by Poland, nothing else.

your words on this forum done much harm to the ukrainian cause.

I don't gice a balaboo crap about that cause , whatever it is. I know you won't change your arrogance no matter what, but good luck anyway.

Anyway those prewar terrytories should belong to Poland!

Well, the Polish had Russian cookers, why shouldn't the Ukrainians have Polish pans?

;)0 Good one!

Intellectual polish superiority explain only one thing to me, please:
"The Cossack Hetmanate began in 1649 as a result of the Khmelnytsky Uprising and lasted until 1775 when it was taken over and dissolved and taken over by the Russian Empire. The Hetmanate had a very high literacy.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_literature

"The Poles suppressed the Ukrainian educational system, reducing the number of Ukrainian-language schools from 440 to 8. Higher education became unattainable for Ukrainians in Poland. In the middle schools in Volhynia only 344 (14%) Ukrainians were enrolled in comparison to 2599 Poles (1938)."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Ukrainian_minority_in_Poland

You had no litertaure, no elite, no dynasty or territory you could claim as your own no before 1848 anyway - take or leave a few years.

I was hoping for interesting exchange but you have nothing to suport your view just yours belives and myths.
