Would Poles prefer that Nazi/Germany to stay in power instead of USSR?

King Sobieski made me think on this one. Would you as Poles preferred that Nazi Germany would have stayed in power instead of the Soviet Union (USSR)? Or vice versa? Curious to see the Polish mind at work on this one.

hey , sorry to be rude but this is a stupid question.
if we were to chose between the germans and the russians we would always go for 3rd option which is FREEDOM !!! this is what we have always fought for.

i just want to make it clear that i never said i would prefer the nazi's in power over red army.

i just thought that the germans were more honest in their intentions of death and destruction, whereas the red army came in as saviours only to imprison poland under communism.

That's true, but Soviets didn't try to exterminate all Poles, at least after 41.

They were not honest. For example: They would tell people from Hungary and other countries that there are job opportunities and a better future in the Poland area. They did that to not cause panic, while all along they had other intentions for these people.

Once they arrived in the concentration camps, they were told to undress, were handed towels, soap and the germans were very polite and smiling the whole time. Only the germans knew what comes next.

Germans were not honest, they were manipulative and had these people under their control. Russians used other tactics, and was not any better.
My 'x' is the that way. He is manipulative, will act nice and then will stab you in the back.
Stupid me married a german.

Josef stalin killed everyone jews , ukrainians , poles EVERYONE. He is a also the cause of poles leaving in large numbers because of red communist rule. It's a dumb question a crystal ball into the future could only see the outcome if one did outdo the other. Stalin conflicted pain onto poland that spread like cancer until the fall of the soviet union 20 or so years back.

Both of them sucked. I'd rather die trying to get freedom that sit around and watch my people be ruled by a bunch of ignorant pigs.

PS: Being part german myself I can tell you that in the berlin wall days the difference between family that lived the communist side was night a day, attitudes ,etc.

I've visited West Germany before the wall. Poland at that time was struggling with marshall law, couldn't buy anything, the store shelves were empty but in West Germany, there was everything, plenty of food, oranges, bread. It was similair to the US, while Easy Germany was similair to Poland.

Castro

And there is a difference between us. You choose tyrannical autocrat to think for you. We Poles think ourselves. Ask cuban people why are they dying on their way to US.

I saw and old nazi propaganda film clip about Germans invading Estonia. The narrator used same terminology as Soviet propaganda: the Germans were just "liberating the old German city of Tallinn"

You asked the question and I answered it. You were unable to answer my simple question. I asked you to pick one of two. I know both stink but pick. Did you have the same problems in school with multiple choice tests?

How can you answer a question like that though? Would you rather be mashed up by 10 men or 20 women?

I choose USSR instead in the NAZIs.

I know they both were stupid. But I think USSR had more sense than the NAZIs. Slightly more, but more.

I choose Independence.... above all else for sure.

A a song I found about the soviets/stalin

He sat in a room
in a square of the color of blood.
He'd rule the whole world
if there was a way that he could.
He'd sit and he'd stare
at the minreds on top of the towers.
For he was a beast
as he hatched his new plans to gain power.

(chorus)
And the snow fell
covering the dreams and ideals.
And the snow fell
freezing the blood and the wheels.
And the snow fell
they had to keep up for survival.
And the snow fell
defeating the beast's only rival.

They took the old roads
that Napoleon had taken before.
They fought as a force as a light
against the darkness in a holy war.
One day they were looking around
and the sun was shining on the cold flowers.
The next day they were freezing to death
in the sleet and the ice cold showers.

(chorus)

Then came the deadly roads
back from the stairs of their retreat.
The cold racked their bodies
but worse was the pain of defeat.
Many people who had hailed them once
now turned and looked away.
These people now knew
that the beast was on it's way.

(chorus)

You finally came back
to the borders of your fatherland.
Now enemies came
traitors everywhere at hand.
Many people who had fought and died
knowing that they had to win.
It still sickens my heart
to see the picture of the red flag in Berlin.

(chorus)

Your question has no answer. There never was. Poles are free people, and they dont choose occupiers. They fight them. Do you choose occupiers in America? Dont think so. But if you do, try canadians. They are nice people.
