Absolutely not but that wasn't my point.

Both countries had very practical reasons not to accept the partitions, Belgium had a strong pro-Polish group with many Polish descended aristocrats and Turkey was doing this as a "fvck you" to Russia, no big deal.

the Turks accidentally left sacks of coffee beans behind when they retreated from the gates of Vienna. The Austrians quickly realized what kind of treasure the Turkish army had been given them

You left all the treasure of the Empire in sacks of coffee beans?Damn, that's how these Austrians became rich.(I suppose you took all he sacks of hassish beans to Turkey).

turkey is NOT a european country.

Then why Turkey always trying to get into the EU? Don't they realize it's not possible?

it's to their benefit to get in with the euros.. and who said eu is that exclusive.. none the less, i'm against them joining eu mainly because they are not in europe. true.

notice this map of EUROPE:

eu

turkey is clearly NOT green.

I don't think they belong in EU either. Why do they need to be in that if they are Asian? Turkey and Israel are two countries who wish they were in Europe but aren't so they pretend as much as they can.

yup. they can start their own "union" if they wish.

The real question, plk, is, why aren't Europe and Asia one continent? Technically, they are. Eurasia is one piece of land with a few islands and penisulas. Maybe one day its name will change to represent its true form?

Rejection of Turkey just because of geographical reasons have no sense. Either you find such move profitable for either Poland, yourself or Brussels (or any other subject that you sympathize with) or not.

Division origin from cultural matters which have influence on political developments.

I feel kinda the same with Russia, but everyone tell me they are in Europe. It's just wierd. Turkey is OK to be in EU I say. Ofc they have to have all the things done to enter.

I think THAT will take some loooong time

EU is only one option for Turkey. In fact, more than half of the Turks are against EU nowadays. Personally I am against EU membership too.

Turkey's EU membership can realize if nations of both sides agree with it.
