US snubs Poland over WW II ceremony?

USA even transported mujaheedines and coordinarted with them in attacks on Serbians

Because Germany and the Islamic league demanded it! How can you say a country that has been hit by Islamic terrorism as much as this one is in league with Islam?

being in a league with Islamic powers or obey to them or just using them, consequences are same on terain (any terain).

Shopgirl, we're talking about the commemoration of the beginning of WWII. All other countries involved are sending their presidents and prime ministers, so it will be a a VERY important event internationally. The only ones who won't send anybody important are USA and Israel. One might think that those two countries somehow don't think WWII was an important event.

And for how long will this be commemorated, do you think?
(Just wondering)

I wonder why no one sends dignitaries to commemorate the beginning of WWI? Why don't we celebrate the beginning or end of our own Civil War? Or the end of the Viet Nam War? Or the Korean War? Or the Spanish-American War? Or the Kosovo War?

Why?

Your Secretary of State found the time to go to the New York Gay Pride Parade this year to celebrate the diversity of your country. Hey, we all set priorities in life.

That does not answer my question...

From another blog on this I read that the US doesn't have as much reason to attend....they would have not entered the war had it not been for Pearl Harbor, and the US does not carry as much guilt over the war as do many Euro nations (France and Britain promised to help out immediately if Poland was attacked, and it took them how long to show up?)

Anyway.....I don't think anyone should be commemorating the START of a war. Lets put our energies into being thankful that it was ENDED.

Your chances in a future career in diplomacy are slim to none.

10 million Polish-Americans in the USA tend to remember things like this when it's election time.

Anyway.....I don't think anyone should be commemorating the START of a war.

It was the Poles who first took on the Nazi Germany, so the commemoration at Westerplatte(look it up) has significance to everyone but...the present American government.

Poland can't even have a black man in a advertisement, so why the hell should Obama cross the pond for them?

Oh, we have lots of advertisements with black people. I've seen one just yesterday.
You're really out of arguments aren't you?

Obama can swim?

Here is Omena, one of the weather castors on Polish TV, very popular:

In fact, she is Polish.

1jola don't forget Eliza from the popular serial Rodzina Zastepcza. Or that lady from one of the tv game shows. And the black players in our soccer teams.

We lump all those into "Memorial Day".

Maybe Poland should have a Memorial Day too, and commemorate ALL the wars that Poland participated in over history.

My point is this, I like Poland and a lot of its people, but I don't like the attitude that everything the US does is wrong. That is mostly what I get from the ppl on this forum. It doesn't matter what year it is, or who is Prez, they will find something to complain about. It is their nature. How silly of me to try to reframe a situation to illustrate how unfair the accusation!

What is it actually that you are complaing about? Oh, I see, that some people like to complain.

How silly of me to try to reframe a situation to illustrate how unfair the accusation!

You have actually demonstrated something? Maybe shopping would relieve your anxiety.

So you are saying that YOU can't entertain any other possibilities than your own? How small minded you are.

Poland should not get in a fizz over WHO the US sends to a commemorative event. That is petty. Period.

Shopping? No thanks. I hate shopping. I just happen to manage a shop.

I told all of you that monkey has a grudge on Poland, he'll cancel those anti-missile missiles (and for good reason we don't need them) he'll be shiting on us throughout his whole presidency, i'm not saying we should dance the Cossack with Putin, but being on better relations with European countries would be best, they're already pissed about us buying American military equipment instead of European. And 1Jola Omena is not Polish she's black, she thinks shes hot cause guys in Poland have never seen a black girl before and are giving her attention, please, she looks like a Mongolian gorilla.

^ Pffft, what grudge? I can tell you why Obama isn't going to Poland this week. It's because Putin will be there and he doesn't want to take away the spotlight. It's Russia's time in Poland.

Lol, okay. Obama's not going because of almost 10% unemployment, war in central Asia.

It's really of no consequence though. If the US brought Jesus Christ, Poles would be miffed John The Baptist wasn't doing the keynote speech.

Maybe Poland should have a Memorial Day too, and commemorate ALL the wars that Poland participated in over history.

If we had as many as you had just in the past century we would have to adopt your model too. You barely finished celebrating bicentennial and how many military conflicts have you participated in as a nation? Do you even know? Here's a clue, if each conflict lasted as long as WWII did that would mean that throughout your entire existence you're in a constant state of war without a break. No wonder you don't remember and you have to lump them all together, otherwise it's hard to keep track of them all. So thanks for the suggestion but we will decide for ourselves as to what should we celebrate and what we should not.

That is petty. Period.

The kind of **** you people cry over is not.

I can tell you why Obama isn't going to Poland this week. It's because Putin will be there and he doesn't want to take away the spotlight. It's Russia's time in Poland.

When I hear statements like this one it really makes me wonder. Can someone remind me one more time how did the US managed to get to where they are now?

Obama's not going because of almost 10% unemployment, war in central Asia.

You really believe that don't you?

It's really of no consequence though. If the US brought Jesus Christ, Poles would be miffed John The Baptist wasn't doing the keynote speech.

This would take some doing and some miracle to pull off, don't you worry about that anymore you are fresh out of miracles. From now on, it's all downhill for you guys.

From now on, it's all downhill for you guys.

At least it will never be as bad as Poland. You don't worry either.. Berlin will tell you how high to jump.. and when to do it. They are the money in the EU.. they are your masters now. I guess somebody had to pull you into the 21st century. You always need help with everything.

Never say never, night is young and you're not out of the woods yet.

Berlin will tell you how high to jump..

Seems like they are telling you guys too or have you forgotten.

One more time, what exactly did you do?

If you knew anything about economics actually dawn is peaking its head. Sorry European, no collapse for you to feel good about. US economy has a severly broken leg, not a severed one.

Seems like they are telling you guys too or have you forgotten

LOL, you really are flat out stupid. Yes , apparently I have forgotten. Enlighten me. Krauts don't loan us money.. it's the other way around. They are the ones wanting to start factories here away from European red tape.

One more time, what exactly did you do?

Only more in our 233 years than Poland has ever done.. or ever will do. Have you ever been the pre eminent power on Earth? No.. only a French lackey or something.. Russian doormat.

The good news is: maybe it will mean a better relationship between Poland and Russia? The countries could become closer and beneficial allies.

Okay LAGirl, little break down.. Poland cannot stand Russia. A cursory glance at these threads could have told you that. Do you know anything about the history of these nations? One get together with pomp and circumstance will not fix that much. It's rumored that the Germans and Russians killed 13 million CIVILIANS often on purpose. A lot of people are still around from WWII, saw there grandmother raped, home destroyed, sons kill etc.

Your posts are often mind blowing stupid. Read up on things before you comment.

Your doctor is lying to you.

Krauts don't loan us money..

No Chinese do

Only more in our 233 years than Poland has ever done..

That's what you think, just like your claim that you pull Poland into the 21st century. You keep taking credits for something you had never done, no wonder your achievement multiply like bunnies in your mind. Keep deluding yourself, now you are finally achieving something on your own.

^ Scrappy give up this delusion of yours...I am not LA girl nor am I somebody's sock puppet. I am a poster like everyone else here. Well, nearly. I don't have several accounts I log in and out of. I had one other account but I changed it to this one because I didn't like the name.

YES I know Russia and Poland don't have a good relationship but we all hope that could change since they are neighbors and all and they have to stay side by side. You are such a pessimist!

No, bunnies are kept aways from our gate, same with Nazis, Soviets.. Bunnies eat up your garden. You know about bunnies.

Your doctor is lying to you.

At least he isn't making us join a "club" with old enemies to get well.

No Chinese do

yes, but you just claimed we were beholden to the Germans. Strange logic there. Also, 800 billion to the Chinese is not an insurmountable bill either. Well maybe to socialists like Poland.

Well, I'm looking at pics of the ceremony. I think Obama should have gone. Poland is a good ally after all. Sorry for my rude comments.

Just a few thoughts: There were many tragedies during World War 2. We should all take a day to reflect on that. Not much will change for the US during 24 hours. Obama could spare the time; The same could be said for Sarkozy, Brown, etc. Let us all remember history, lest we are doomed to see it repeat. Take a moment of silence for all the victims of war and hatred. Try to make the world a better place however you can, in small ways if need be, instead of bickering with each other.
