Hi,

I have a question about middle names: Do public records in Poland reveal middle names? I can't find middle names for my great-grandparents and their relatives in Poland. My great-grandmother Helen Pilip Kocielko had the middle initial of B., according to a record on Ancestry's website. Her brother Frank Pilip had the middle initial of A. Other than these I know nothing about the middle names of my family born in Poland.

I can't see a reason why they wouldn't. Especially when they reveal the last name ;).

Thanks for the reply. Some older records in the U.S. are very brief. I wasn't sure about Poland.

Did you ever find out more about Polish middle names? My great grandfather has used John and Blajej on several different documents and I wondered if one was the middle name or not. Please let me know. Thanks, Kate

middle names aren't a custom in poland.. rather the exception.. many times they were added when they went to a country where middle name was a norm.. i keep fighting that battle everyday.. interesting things pop up as my middle name.. lol some just can't leave it blank.
