Hello all.When i was a little boy many years ago.My mother used to make a soup that i loved.From what i can remember today,it was made from fried almost burnt onions,buck wheat{kasha} and i do not remember what else.If this is familiar to someone please! a recipe would be very much appriciated.

Maybe with some vegetables and potatos, too? f yes, it's surely krupnik. I can't think of any other soup with kasza.

krupnik is traditionally made with barley groats but in a pinch someone might have used buckwheat.
This was the first time I had this soup and it was delicious. It has mushrooms in it.

yeah but buckwheat tend to fall apart rather quickly so i am thinking no go.
