The issue of [not] writing in Polish on the forums (part 2)

hang on a second, i thought the whole point of this forum was to enable Polish and other people around the world to join and communicate with each other. Just speaking polish would exclude a lot of people, i think people like the forum the way it is.

having a Polish speaking section, would exclude people which is not what the forum is about. I may be right i may be wrong, i'm sure though Admin will correct me if i'm not :)

My understanding of PF is that it is a Forum about Poland/Polish people and for anyone (of any nationality) wishing to understand more about Poland/Polish Culture etc etc but that it was in English and therefore accessible to the entire world!

I also thought that the whole of PF was open to anyone was a member and a grand majority of it open for people to browse through and comment on as a guest.

Personally I feel that introducing a section where Polish only is spoken would not benefit this Forum in the slightest, but would, in fact, harm it.

yes totally agree, there have been no's before about elements that could be introduced and usually a 'no' is given if it does not benefit the forum 'overall'

Look. This is a pretty live, well setup, and well thought-up message board. And it's doing rather dissent so far; correct me if I'm wrong. And as far as I know, it's the only one in its class: a Polish Forum for English speakers. The thing is that there is only one PF, and THOUSENTS of other Polish forums on numerous subject in Polish language. And they all SUCK. So please, if it ain't broke, don't fix it?

too bad they did have a practice section topic

where people who are learning can write stuff and others could help with some of the
errors that we make.

although my reading capacity sucks it doesn't bother me in the slightest when i come across the occassional polish on the forum. as ronek stated, if it did bother me enough, then i'd translate it myself. on the other hand there probably do exist many many polish language forums already. ah well it's really just a question of common sense, that shouldn't need to be regulated.

To admin:
Are you bloody serious? I can't use polish? Are you just ignorant or what is the cause?
Just a quick reality check. The forums are called Polish forums and I cant write in polish every now and then?

Cause there are a lot of people on PF who don't speak Polish...But if you say something in Polish and add the translation into English, then i think it's okay ;)

I've already written in French here, you know... :)

translate it myself.

Sorry, foreigner, but I would not yet be able to translate myself, even if I wanted to. I'm learning, and if you're a native speaker, or speak polish well enough to translate - many of us are only learning polish. Thanx to a lovely forum (although without smileys ;( ) i can learn, be serious and have fun in a (mostly) relaxed environment, and I get so frustrated when I see only polish text. As Polly says - add the english, and it would be no problem - a learning exp!

and I get so frustrated when I see only polish text.

the way i see it, what's the big deal? In the end if someone writes in polish it's generally to someone for a specific reason. if they wanted everyone to be able to respond they would write it in english but if it's an inside thing so be it, the sky isn't going to fall from an inside joke or crack made here or there.

Do you always respond to everything you read? I don't but it doesn't necessarily mean that if I don't respond that I'm not interested :)

the sky isn't going to fall from an inside joke or crack made here or there.

No, but I might LOL at the joke too :)
