NEW TO POLAND (Student in KRAKOW). Life questions.

Hello,

I have recently been admitted in AGH University of science and technology. I have some questions and will be grateful for answers.

1. What is the average temperature at present in krakow? Is winter clothes cheap in there? What would be the price of a middle range Jacket/overcoat?

2. Where are the musical instrument shops in Krakow? How to reach those?

3. What things should a foreign student must bring to Krakow if he intends to live there for a year>

Temperature here is not so bad right now, in the 60's yesterday but it will fall pretty quick. Winter gets down to sub-zero frequently so bring a ton of warm clothes. Clothing in Poland is as much or even more expensive than in the U.S. so I would just do shopping at home if I were you although there is this swap meat on weekends called the Tomeks where you can find cheaper clothing but as you may guess the quality might not be that great.

Not sure about the musical instrument shops but I'm sure you can google that part and find alot of stuff.

In Polish it's called sklep muzyczny (sklepy muzyczne in plural)

Probably a sense of fun etc. so that you can meet new people, but this goes for any new country that you are going to.

Check Saturn, Media Markt or Euro RTV AGD. Just google them, you won't have problems finding them. Or if you want a more detailed approach try BitKomputer or Primakomp.

I wonder, before arriving Poland, should I bring Euro's or USD's to convert them to Zolty? I mean which one will be beneficial? To bring USD and change the money to Zloty or o bring Euro and convert them to Zolty, in the money changing shops?
