Wow!

A 98-YEAR-OLD Polish war veteran has appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court, charged with attempting to murder two policewomen - using a knife and an axe.

It follows a disturbance at his terraced home at Birch Row, Scone, on Tuesday afternoon, which resulted in police officers responding.

Sylvester Nowak is believed to be the oldest person ever to be held in custody in a Scottish court.

Come on, the old man was losing his mind and probably scared by the black people by age old stereotypes. The guy ought to be put in a retirement home.

What black people? The article doesn't say anything about the police officers being black and their names (and location) don't suggest it.

The guy ought to be put in a retirement home.

There would certainly be an assessment by a Doctor and a Social Worker before any decision was made.

Aha...george,no, the Police in the UK now wear a uniform that is more Black than the traditional Blue( ie, not the colour uniform an elderly, maybe dementia suffering Pole wants to see)....I think that may have been the confusion,sorry......

He just made a mistake of going after some cops...If he would have gone after a coupla Scotch greaseball geezers he would have got an award.

I wouldn't think that made any difference, whatever a "Scotch greaseball geezer" is supposed to be. The police would be more interested in his welfare rather than a prosecution, given his age.
