And they're still the only English speakers I can understand... ;P

'what is Irish culture'

They like to go overseas a lot... ;P

You will for sure find some examples of lazy poles but compared to your own natives they ain't even close to living off "tax money".

God I can't stand trite Poles...

Go back to your country if you find anything lazy or distasteful about where you currently live...

I know plenty of lazy Poles... they live off their parents if they can't live off the state...

God, breathe some life into your mentality will you.

It's really hot...

The reason why there are excessive poles in Ireland are because Ireland has a wacky liberal government which hands out welfare to poles and poles come to take advantage of and exploit Ireland.#

THe poles are not liked , wanted or respected in Ireland.None of the immigrants are. I live in Ireland and alot of the violent knife crime is committed by poles. They are a violent dishonourable peoples in the eyes of the Irish.

Why do u people boast about destroying a once lovely country. Now Ireland resembles a ghetto with all the eastern europeans, blacks, gooks and pakis. The country no longer exists...it has died. You should be ashamed of yourselves you horible racist, anti-semitic, greedy people.I hope immigrants come to your nation like you have come to ours...and THEY ARE AND THEY WILL!

I would call it some sort of structural damage. It's not fair but it is unstoppable. The world is changing. Irish have immigrated for centuries... You yourself know that. That's the way the world is now... multicultural with an influx of third world people everywhere. The way the world was exists only on postcards now... I guess we just have to learn to get along, respect and contribute as best we can... So that future generations have a better chance of assimilating.

But for Poles to stand in critical judgement of their adopted homes just smacks of hypocrisy. They are too proud to admit all the reasons they left their beloved Poland and it makes them a bit schizophrenic... But catch them unawares and they will tell you alllll the reasons.

Immigrants are unfortunately, by nature, idealists. No place is perfect.

Who are you to judge Poles like that? Can you tell what's your nationality?

I live in Au long enough and did not meet one person of Polish origin who lives from benefits or is lazy like English (or from British origin) people are, here in AU.

Do you know that the most dirty suburbs in Australia are where Poms (people of English origin) usualy live. I was told this (by teacher) at my English classes ; it's not hard to find these places; most of these people live in government sponsored houses, are on benefits, doing nothing, except using drugs and alcohol.

Look at Poles in Au, they are hard working people, they don't need benefits because they are too rich to even qualify for any help from government. Similarly, same with other nationalities, like Russians, Italians, Greeks, Serbs and many more.

Did you mean you don't like Poles because they know how to live their life, Ash?
I am sure it is why you and the like of you don't like this special skills about other nationalities.

1.

Who are you to judge Poles like that? Can you tell what's your nationality?

1.I spent plenty of time in Poland and many years around Poles. I can't stand the holier than thou crap spurted here and elsewhere that Poles work soooo much harder than anyone else in the countries where they migrate to. I will judge bullshit when I see it.

A hard working and *functional* work force should be able to raise a strong enough economy at home, no? Actions speak louder than words there, and facts speak for them self!

And, actually, I can have whatever opinion I want regardless of my nationality... it's experience and exposure that gives understanding...
I never was more aware of racist elitism than when I was living amongst Poles... fact!

2.

2. What bollocks! What an interesting study: ''Dirtiest suburbs in Australia and the blood line of the people living there...''?!
See here you are making sweeping and favourable generalisations once again about Poles. PEOPLE do what they have to do in any circumstance to get by... or are Poles immune to these requirements??

Poles have other ways of adapting to difficult economic circumstances if benefits are not an option. These include staying at home, living off their parents when they are studying, getting jobs through their family or other connections, and until quite recently, giving bribes... How can you say that this doesn't happen?! Poor, righteous Poles...

An insecure immigrant with a superiority complex will try to overcome his/her situation by slagging off everything they can about the citizens of their adopted country... Poles have proved this time and time again. THEY ARE WHINGERS!

You lot have no problem insulting others, but can't take it yourself.

And I know what a f*cking Pom is...

3.

3. You are making me laugh. Your generalisation now is basically completely anti-British in sentiment, in favour of just about every other European ethnic background that resides here. So now you're trying to create the dichotomy that "the original colonisers are no good but everyone else is better and more morally sound"... F*CK off!

You've missed the whole point of this country entirely... there is no "them" and "us"... if you're here, you're an Aussie. Don't bring your European segregation crap with you and get into your pathetic little comfort zone with (I've noticed) other Europeans...(no mention of Asians, Indians, or Iranians I noticed...) And learn some respect for the country that houses you.

I have no problem with your *skills* you're coming across as a typical rhetorical Pole.
Your world is so well controlled. You're not worthy of my time.

Yours is the typical lash out of an immature Pole against anything Anglo/ British whilst quite happily living in her countries and her colonies. F*ck off back to Poland. I've got no problem with Poles, but I *do* just treat them like other mortals... a fact you guys have a problem with with your trite superiority complex and *philosophy of the Slavs...* PLEASE! Save it! It stinks. And trust me, I'm qualified enough to know... ;)

I know plenty of lazy Poles... they live off their parents if they can't live off the state...

I will say this again... THERE ARE LAZY POLES. JUST LIKE THERE ARE LAZY PEOPLE FROM EVERY BACKGROUND... Just like there are alcoholic drunks and mischievous thieves from every nationality in the world (maybe not Innuits?)... DEAL WITH IT!

And I thought you guys had a sense of humour...? You can't if you take yourselves *that* seriously!!

God and even when you live in another country for 3 generations you still harp on about the importance of being Polish.... What is it with you guys...?! :S

Good post that ash.

I think essentially people like this are are embarrassed, they try to talk up Poland in order to make themselves feel better, ive met quite a few even long before i knew anything about Poland. It always made me think that Poland must be some great country for them to talk so much about it. Truth is put these people in a Polish club with expats, or tell them to call the Polish Embassy and they are embarrassed to the core.

Back to immigration i was thinking how the hell did the UK manage to soak up 1,000,000 Poles, provide lives, homes and well paid jobs for them. Thats astonishing.

It always made me think that Poland must be some great country for them to talk so much about it.

Man, i get your point here, big time. I brought some Poles around Ireland several times, and(some thought) the mountains were not high enough,, and the forest were too small, the food is crap,The people are false,There's nothing to do here..etc etc. When i got to Poland I thought I was going to see a fuucking jungle with buffalo running around. I saw towns, that would be considered huge cities in Ireland and they had NOTHING in them just disgusting Blocks(what the hell do you do, in this town?makes Moate look like Venice!)In stead of seeing Slavic warriors, herding buffalo,i saw badly dressed men, with mustaches and ugly pea-caps hanging outside Pub/shops drinking beer and farting, and grunting at me for not looking local.

I was a little shocked.
I think the problem is, that a lot of Poles simply have not travelled, because they are poor; they are a bit like the frog who was trapped in a well and thought that the bit of sky he could see was the whole world, and he grew to love it. Over-identification basically.

Saying all that, the Irish, that emigrate (can be)are a bunch of whingers as well, wearing sh1tty Ireland jerseys and singing those horrible cliche Irish anthems, that make people who are into music, vomit, and talking about Irish history even thought they know nothing about it.

Also I have a lots of great great friends in Poland who are a 100% and there are so many beautiful places in Poland.

For a long time now weve been hearing of Poles returning to Poland, at one point i even believed it myself. Fact is they are not coming back at all, the ones that do return realise that they still hate it and cant find work then go straight back to the UK or Ireland.

There's only one on this forum that has come back to live.

Fact is they are not coming back at all,

That's my experience anyway. Obviously can't speak for the country but all the Poles I have come to know since about 2002/3 ish are still here except for one couple - who went to another country rather than Poland as it happens. Still plenty of Poles I hear in the streets, cafés, shops etc. New Polish skleps opening etc.

Obviously some Poles have gone but I can't see that much evidence of it myself.

Some, maybe that had great expectation like yourself - an answer for your question - some! There are always some people in every country.

Good post that ash.

Irish culture is Gaelic football and hurling. Bothare ancient Irish sports which have been handed down by the generations and are older and richer than your ill-defined mongrel poland

Google '|Gaelic football' and look it up on youtube. Some poles have started playing it in Ireland. Great sport which is a few thousand years oldrr than soccer

not a lawyer? whatever...your just some forum junky loser. I only bother with this one becuase I dislike polaks so much.
Google ' polish+Ireland+murder' and see the results. I tell you no lies my friends.

If poles came to Ireland in moderation and worked hard and showed respect I would not have a problem.
It's the overwhelming number for a small island nation, plus the disrespect they show and the whinging and complaining about Ireland. I hate the weather, why do irish do that, this or in Poland we do this or that better than Ireland. You've had independance long enough to get your act together and you are in the centre of europe beside an economic might. You should be flying, not the rundown poverty stricken hole poland has become.

Yes, Poles have committed murder in Ireland. They have killed other Poles and they have killed Irish nationals.

Poles have also been murdered in Ireland by Irish people as well as their own countrymen.

Statistically likely and logical as there are quite a few Poles in the country so inevitably a small percentage commit serious crimes.

The vast majority of murders are Irish/Irish

What's the big story?

In fact why am I even bothering with this...

I've been reading through this thread and wow what a bunch of crap. I was born and live in the states and I've never been to Ireland. What I can say is only what I see here in the US. There are loads of Polish people and Polish communities everywhere. There are a lot of awesome Poles and some "not so awesome" Poles. AND... there are great Irish people here and a load of bum bastard Irish.

Let's be straight about this... Poles come to Ireland to seek work to have a better life. They work and then return to Poland with CASH, where they can live better than before. Yes, many Polish people are "cwaniaki", but they became that way after decades of communist life, where everyone had to outsmart the others to survive. This all happened after years of murder, rape and robbery by the Germans and Russians.

It the tables were turned I'm sure the Irish would understand. Be thankful that the Poles bring a work ethic and stunning "white" ladies with good genes into the picture, unlike other backwards non euro ethnic groups. Also, keep in mind that when blonde people were roaming the Baltic shores of Poland, Ireland was a wasteland.

(ah, wait...they're still in denial about the fact that Polish blood is about as mixed and diluted as it gets)
