British man prosecuted for raping teenage girls in Kraków

Kraków district attorney prepared a case against a 47-year old British citizen. He is being accused of sexual assault on three teenage girls, one of them is under 15.

The man took advantege of his position since he is a horse riding instructor and a president of a club near Kraków. Those three girls were his pupils.

For those girls horse riding was a passion and the man could decide about their training, or participation in sport events. - says prosecutor's office.

P.S. This "expat" is still "contributor" according to the other thread.

No surprise there, with the total lack of criminal background checks in Poland and a tendency for children to "sit down and shut up", well.

However, make your mind up - did he assault them, or did he rape them?

So it is sexual assault and not rape. There should be full police checks on all foreigners applying for residency.

Well, the title of the article mentions rapes but "doprowadzenie przemocą do obcowania płciowego lub innych czynności seksualnych" from the body of the article I translated as "sexual assault" - to be honest I have no idea how to translate this.

Problem is that most EU citizens don't bother with residency certificates.

However, until he's found guilty, let's remember that equine girls tend to be spoilt brats - it wouldn't be a shock if some of them complained about him maliciously because he didn't let them enter some competition.

until he's found guilty,

How true, from the title put here by the OP, you might forget that so far he is innocent, until PROVEn otherwise.

that equine girls tend to be spoilt brats

Chippy? much?

Wow, if there are no criminal background checks in Poland when applying for a new job....Well, what the hell have I been waiting for? What's the name of this equine school?

Joking aside, I somewhat agree with delphi, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the kids' parents had something to do with this either.

The only thing which surprises me about this case is that it took so long for it to happen. It was always a 'when', not an 'if'.

And I absolutely guarantee you that unless Poland introduces background checks for people who work with children (or at the very least for people who work unsupervised with children), the second case will be a 'when', not an 'if'.

And while my fellow Britons are smugly touting Background checks as the answer may I remind them of the fully background checked women caught fiddling with young children in that Portsmouth Nursery? CRB only goes so far. All they really mean is you have a clean record, plenty of people dont get caught,no record.

To the tit who seems to think only expats are a threat, yes,of course,no Pole would ever do anything perverted would they......

No checking system will ever be perfect, people will slip through, mistakes will be made, only a person's past can be checked, not their future. However, any system is better than none at all, doing anything is better than doing nothing: Poland has no checking system at all and is doing nothing at all to introduce one. This will have entirely predictable results.

Of course not. And if a Polish man's sperm is found inside a rape victim who has been very nearly beaten to death, why that is simply proof of an anti-Polish plot!

is the key to this two words? The Church.....
Honestly,it puzzles me, in a nation where a friggin embryo is seen as some sacred form of life to be protected by draconian laws and outdated ideas of morality and pregnancy is an illness, where the kiddies are coddled beyond belief that, come a certain age they are just cast out to the wolves with parents turning a blind eye to dangers.

Is it a worry that if checks are carried out far to many people will be implicated in cover ups?

I doubt it: the checking process for working with vulnerable kids in Polish state institutions (e.g. orphanages) are pretty rigorous, but it is waived entirely for priests.

What are you implying Harry? That the British coach in fact was a pastor, minister or a rabbi in disguise? You don’t waste much time to seize the opportunity and attack the Church even when the pervert turns out to be someone other than the man of the cloth, that goes for the rest of you who shamelessly bring religion into this debate.

The problem is the law, IMHO much to lenient on the convicted perpetrators, in cases like this when this sort of crime involves a minor, a life in prison should be standard or even a death penalty should be applied in cases where perpetrator had been convicted of multiple or repeat offence. The best checking system is the one that a potential perp imposes on himself knowing fully well that no lawyer nor his position in the community, some mitigating factor, a loophole or amount of money paid off to the victim family will get him out of punishment he/she deserves even if it was just an attempt to commit such crime.

As for this horny 47-year old British man in this case, I hope he gets what he deserves and more :)))

I am stating very clearly that whatever the reason for Poland failing to introduce proper background checks for people who work with children actually is, it is highly unlike that the church has anything to do with there being no background checks: priests are already exempted from the checks done on people working with vulnerable kids in Polish state institutions.

Which is why the president of Poland got his lawyers involved in helping Hollywood's most famous paedophile.

Krakowska prokuratura sporządziła akt oskarżenia przeciwko 47-letniemu obywatelowi Wielkiej Brytanii, któremu zarzuciła doprowadzenie przemocą do obcowania płciowego lub innych czynności seksualnych wobec trzech nastoletnich dziewczynek.

He is accused of rape and sexual assault as well.

Give it a rest will you. To stay on topic, once a perv always a perv and in this case this Brit simply came here in search of greener pastures, I say a castration is in order before some public medieval form of execution is performed, once convicted of course ;) serving as a deterrent for the rest of deviants out there.

The problem is the law and corruption within, some poor soul who stole in order to eat gets the full punishment under the law for his crime while some big fat banker, politician or what have you that embezzled millions just a slap on the wrist and a promotion if not acquitted of his crime that is.

perhaps they were wearing jodphurs that were too tight and were just asking for it eh?

Poland needs to wake up and demand background checks as known paedophiles will often ply their trade in other countries
however if this guy has raped little girls irrespective of their social status, they need to throw the book at him
and imprison him in a Polish prison where he will hopefully be savagely beaten by the other inmates

This wouldn’t be PF otherwise now would it? Brits starting topics on Poles in Britain, Poles doing the same about the Brits in Poland, a little teasing and bickering is good for the soul giving us a chance to wash our dirty laundry in the process. Unless you happen to think your undergarments are not stained.

Are you seriously suggesting for us to impose a government where everyone is considered to be a threat and under suspicion? No thanks it was tried in not so distant past. If you believe that the government is going to stop at that you’re fooling yourself, this only leads to obtuse of this privilege as government sees it as an opportunity to protect itself from imagined domestic enemies and simply spies on everyone for no reason. Did all those cameras installed in Britain ever prevented any crime? LOL You seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee before it’s too late for you

There used to be some checks, they were how the axe-murderer who worked at the same school as me was caught, although that was due to Interpol being on the lookout for him rather than the guy having past form.
