Well, that's just where u and I differ my friend. Cars serve a useful purpose gtd. What good will a gun do u unless u r a hunter?

Hunting as you said....sport shooting for competition like olympic events....self defense. I know the last one is the one most Euros take issue with but I have said before. Most people who carry for self defense hope to NEVER have to use it but to know it is there and can potentially save the life of your family or innocents (and it happens regularly) is worth having it.

It's all academic anyway as it is our right and in our constitution. We will continue to support it regardless of what Europe thinks about it.

It is true that some Americans want restrictions on small arms, isn't it ?

Didn't Alien take care of Predator? ;) Bears are largely in Canada, Franek.

Yes, but it's a good topic of debate. Don't go all defensive on me, guns do have some merit.

What happens regularly? Guns take lives, Franek will tell u that. He even gave u stats.

Yes they do...preferably the bad guys life if he has made it an either or proposition.
Home invasions and armed robberies are common. I know the Euro way is to cover your eyes and hope they don't hurt you but in the US people fight back to protect family. If a few big guys with pipes or knives were in your house trying to rape your daughter what would you do? Have you ever been in a fight for your life Seanus? Do you really think you could beat off multiple (or even one) angry attacker? Nobody wants to take a life (nobody sane) but bad guys do bad things. If it is me or my family or the bad guy...I choose the bad guy.

There are more predators than bears.. Here in America we have black panthers running loose

Just for the record I don't agree with Franek's extremist political or racial views simply because we both support gun rights.

Remove guns and u remove a life-threatening weapon. Guns aren't like Star Trek phasers, u can't set them to stun. I hear what u r sayin but other disabling weapons can be used. We get by without them in Europe.

We have black panthers in Scotland too but don't go flocking to the shops to stock up on guns and ammo.

So, should I expect 2 c a panther in Manhattan or Beverly Hills? LOL. The Pink Panther maybe

AWWW! Come on GTD.. Did you not just agree with me on your last statement?

You cant REMOVE all guns...
and people kill in other ways...and the bad bad guys still have guns here. In the UK they are banning knives now...what next sticks?

People will always find ways to kill. The bad guys do not follow laws...so if you ban guns the good people are the only ones not going to have them. I would love for all violence to leave the world but its not going to happen. Bad people have guns....all over...as long as they do I want one too.

AWWW! Come on GTD.. Did you not just agree with me on your last statement?

I agree with the right to bear arms. I don't agree with your racial comments no.

In my opinion? No...I don't trust them to exercise restraint. They are religious extremists and wish for the destruction of other nations.

Ask an Iranian you get a different answer.

Thankfully not. I think we have them in zoos somewhere ;) Just kidding, nah, I'm serious, we have panthers.

Aha, so why r u allowed a weapon if some other killer has one? For self defence or as a deterrent? Iran can legitimately claim to be pursuing uranium as an alternative source of energy. What would ur defence be for having a gun if sb denied ur right to have it?

Some extreme left wing activists do yes. The majority of Americans support the responsible ownership of firearms.

Well gtd, what of the above? U paint America like the Wild West. R u Quick Draw McGraw? Or Fast Finger Freddy?

Can't Iran have a weapon too? Just for protection u understand. OK, no, well surely for energy purposes as advocated by Obama?

You are spinning things. There are violents crimes in the USA yes. Even when they dont have a gun they are usually in greater numbers, on drugs, have other weapons etc. In these cases I find it acceptable to use a gun to stop the assault.

The nuclear bomb thing is not even on the same page. This is a weapon that can do bazillions more times damage than a gun. And...before we give someone a gun we check out their history and make sure they are not violent criminals or psych patients. We have checked out Iran's history and they are a bit off...we don't think they would be a responsble bomb owner right now....sorry ;(

HMMM!
I wonder who these thugs are that you are describing above.?

U r talking practicalities, I was discussing principles. So, u think 2 wrongs make a right?

How about war? How many people have died in wars over the years?

Disease can lie latent in sb. Guns can change people too. U don't have to be a violent criminal to use a gun. Do u imagine all gun-related deaths in America can be attributed to violent people?

Iran can't pursue alternative energy technology, is that what u r telling me?

America was a responsible bomb owner? Hiroshima and Nagasaki tend to suggest otherwise.

NK has nukes, why do u let them possess such weapons? They were part of the Axis of Evil after all.

I wonder if there would have been so much fuss if the soldier in question hadnt had a Polish surname. I doubt it very much. Must be a racist attack

The only reason a thread was created regarding this incident is because one of the people involved is polish and this is a polish forum. It has nothing to do with racism jackass!
