It looks good if a woman has a brain but isn't arrogant about it. Besides I was always attracted to a woman in a buisness suit, very sexy ;-)

What do the men of Poland want??????

1. They want to be looked on as typical men who aren`t different from the ones in other civilised countries.
2. They are fed up with putting them into national categories and examining them like some Exotic Men from Mars.

IMHO - I have always wanted to be married to an intelligent girl who is extremely sexy, loves reading books and animals and is also able to look after kids and the house and me from time to time. I was lucky.

Most "men of Poland" are still mummy's boys. They may "go gym" all day, and beat people up at the Legia match, but they always go running back to mamusia for some zupa afterwards :D Only Italian men are worse.

Trust me on this: almost all the women in my family married or live with these kind of losers. I'm nothing like this, though (thank heavens) - being brought up in the UK, Polish women love me for having the ideal combination of Polish background and Western ideas of gender equality. They know they will be an equal, and not a subordinate "mother-substitute" for some lazy lowlife. If you want sexist, Neanderthal men, then go to Serbia :)

A Polish man would always pick youth and beauty over intelligence.ambition, money. career anything, they want a beautiful young girl to stay home and look after them!

As if a beautiful girl would be content with that! Or has the blachara/WAG lifestyle passed you by? lol :)

I take it you've had a run in with "Staruch's" finest, they did a little bit of ************* and now you are taking it out on all Polish men.

Someone's being anti-polonic.

Sure, whatever you say, sir.

What are your views?????

My view, based upon hundreds of interactions with Polish people, is that you'll meet all types and Polish guys are not in any way pre-disposed to picking "youth and beauty" over "smarts" or looking for a surrogate mother that will take care of them ( which in turn of course would imply that they're unable to properly take care of themselves ).

That last bit is actually extremely stupid, considering the amount of totally self-sufficient Polish men I've met in the UK who came into the country back in 2004 with a few bob in their pocket and are now home/business owners or accomplished professionals.

I'm probably twice the age of the average PF poster; having grown up surrounded by Poles (at home and beyond), I'm perfectly placed to comment.

And I never said "all".

Someone's being anti-polonic.

See above.

Whereas you aren't even Polish, and you seem to like throwing around the occasional anti-Polish comment yourself.

Polish women deserve better, which is possibly why so many go with foreigners these days.

Polish men like submissive women. They have a hard time with partnership, which is probably the result of growing up with overbearing "mamusias", who instill in them the conviction that they are some divine creatures and they deserve the best, while girls are taught from an early age that they are on the mission to find a husband. So girls are trained to be feminine, smile all the time and be nice. That's probably why so few Polish men date western women, as they are too strong minded and independent for them.

HAHA Men fear women in power women with a good career that make more money then them. And yes many are mama's boys. Would like their women to cook, clean for them, be caring and understanding.

So true! The Polish men very rarely venture outside their Slavik comfort zone, whereas the Polkis are all over the place. But in all fairness, I see it in other ethnic groups : Filipino men, Latino men among others

Most of the polish women I know give their menfolk a very hard time!
Bear in mind I know mostly expat poles!

would have thought a well paid woman would be an advantage!!!!! not so much worry about the 'pieniÄ…dze'.

They do like to "try a ting" as we say round here :)

But as I discussed some time ago on here, the key is to know how to play them at their own game ;)

Making this about gender is a little silly. I'm fairly sure everyone would love to come home to a cooked meal and the laundry done, no matter what gender they are. More important would be how angry the man or woman got if some things weren't done.

I remember newly-married guys in the UK telling their young wives "no woman of mine is going to work, I'm the earner in this household", and I'm sure some women loved that idea and some hated it. The same thing happens in Poland too, where it's male pride that insists the woman doesn't work, rather than chauvinism insisting she stays in the kitchen.

There are many more housewives in Poland than further west, but I'm sure this is more about wage disparity than any social demand that "women don't work." But I also know a few families where the wife is the main earner, and there's no problem in those families.

If it's about taste though, it comes down to the options. Women are beautiful, intelligent and sane. In Poland, you can choose two of these options.

Your second sentence explains the problem in your first sentence. ;)

Of course everyone would like to have everything done for them by the time they come home - the problem is, there are still a lot of Polish men who still believe that this is a woman's job, irrespective of whether she works or not.

I couldn't care less if the Serbs on here will come out with their "effeminate/emasculated Western men" nonsense (sometimes they say we are effeminate/emasculated, then they call us violent, aggressive scum - so which is it?? lol) - it's not right for men to expect women to do their dirty work for them, especially if the woman works as well. That's not feminisation, it's fairness.

I remember once reading a book on sociology where a husband threw his dinner on the fire because it was served by his wife's sister, not by his wife. Thank heavens those days are almost over - should have been ****ing grateful he was getting fed at all! And if anyone disagrees with me, well you can **** off back to your Bernard Manning DVDs as well. It's not 1950 any more.

No-one, but NO-ONE touches my ironing. And if you try, I'll beat u up, blud ;) lol (jk ;) )

Right, back to marking coursework for me... lmao :)

Making this about gender is a little silly.

Totally true but it was a really silly argument anyway!
the whole reason it's on PF is because my opponent suggested that
if an opinion poll was done on the entire adult male population
of the world, every man would vote for beauty over brains!!!!!!
Can't cover the world but couldn't resist a mini poll on here!

I'm fairly sure everyone would love to come home to a cooked meal and the laundry done

Even more true and I'd like my meals cooked by Adrien Brody !!!!

THope no one is taking any offence anywhere? It's very much a light hearted thread!

A Polish man (or any man for that matter) probably doesn't mind it, when a career woman spends $ on him.

Sorry, it is a breach of logic. Having had overbearing mommies, men can`t like submissive women.

Did I leave an impression of submissive woman, because if I did I do apologize. I am surely not.

And Serbs know how to be masculine while knitting ;)
One of my ex's liked needles and piercing with or without yarn whenever there was an opportunity, which resulted with two additional piercings in one of my ears, without ice, and without pain.

They are quite helpful and FAIR (squared) partners. It is respect for my ex's talking now. They all did what was asked from them, and far more than that.

She still has to earn less than him, of course. Male pride, and all that ;)

You know how it works on here: Western men are all gay/effeminate/emasculated, because they have been indoctrinated by anti-Slavic, anti-Serbian, pro-Muja NATO-supporting EUSSR traitors ;)

or something like that ;)

Very true in Japan. The men there often don't know how to react to forthright Western women. Polish men don't seem to have such an issue with it. They just ooze their Polishness and hierarchy often doesn't matter that much.

OK, I have to work more on my dominatrix image then ;)

There is a truth that male and female roles are more sharply delineated in Slavic societies than in the West I had the chance to observe. Starting from visual aspect (partner look, unisex wardrobe) - highly forbidden, through auditory (tone used for regular communication HAS to differ), subtle rules of conduct in social situations. etc. It is related to still untouched primacy of men when it comes to acquiring resources. Economy determined phenomenon as well.

I tend to appreciate some aspects of that situation. Very specific ones. (not financial, I hate that)

But, there are some things that cannot be said or done to ordinary Slavic male when it comes to choosing modes of causing pain. I tried once. I ran after that. A lot.

y, it is a breach of logic. Having had overbearing mommies, men can`t like submissive women.

Not really. Like I said, mothers in macho and borderline macho cultures make their sons believe they are something extraordinary. On the other hand the boys growing up realize deep down in their hearts that they are just average, but they feel like they need to keep up the myth that their mothers started, so they go for seemingly soft and helpless creatures who will make them feel superior.

This works really well in Polish and other cultures where a female's social status swells at the moment she says "yes" at the altar. In order to get that husband they are trained to be nice and sweet, but in most cases it's not their real nature. So once the mission is accomplished and a girl gets to show her true nature, like for example liking to be in charge and dominate, or just being a shrew, a man is disappointed. Remember the old saying: "on their wedding day the wife hopes her spouse will change but he usually doesn't, and the husband wishes she wouldn't change, but she usually does"?

Possibly the best description of Polish male-female relationships I've ever read on here; it's so true (unfortunately!)

Whenever I hear about "overbearing Jewish mothers", I always think "lol, that's just like a Polish mum". :D I wonder which came first?
