You do not have to come to Poland in order to convert into Christianity. There are quite a few christian churches in India itself. Go to the parish of the christian denomination you have selected (catholics, protestant, perhaps orthodox) that is nearest to you. Discuss with a priest what is needed for conversion. Just remember it is usually a prolonged process.

Come on, converting in India isn`t the same as in Poland.

It's true Pawian, it is not. However if his primary objective is to convert rather than visit Poland he may well start over there :-)

So convert in Poland but you can still go to the priest and ask what you'll need.

Hi, it's great to hear you want to convert to Christianity, as I'm sure you are well aware there are many different branches to the Christian tree so please choose carefully. The evangelical movement in Poland is growing quickly as knowledgeable Christians turn their back on Rome. Kakow has some very exciting Christian projects as does Szczecin. Poland is a fantastic place to be and I'm sure converting here would be a very spiritual experience. Good luck, if I can be of any help please feel free to ask, although as a Christian Evangelical Reverend from the North of Ireland I am just a little bias!

What are your reasons if you don't mind me asking?

Not as a point to start a debate, I'm just interested to know what they out of philosophical interest.

It's not about getting documents, etc.. As cliche as this sounds (and I'm sure that you've heard this several times), you need to make sure that you know that Jesus Was, Is, and Is To Come; is the Word of God and God Become Flesh, Part of the God Head (One In Three--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), and God the Son Who died and rose to conquer sin and death. You also need to understand that Jesus came through the chosen people (the Jews) and came for the Jew first, then equally for the gentile--so that no Anti Semitism in Christianity is allowed.

This sounds like a visa job to me based on a religious pretext.

You have to understand how badly Indian (including Keralite) Christians are persecuted by Hindus and Indian Muslims.

Wroclaw Boy,wouldn't work make more sense? They know he doesn't need to go to Poland to convert to Christianity.I see your point,it does sound weird.

But again, it may be safer for him in Poland than in India. Hindu and Muslim India are highly hostile to the Indian Christian minority.

Nickidewbear,I understand what you're saying, but he could ask for asylum if this were the case.why Poland in particular?

He might be converting to Roman instead of Keralite (Indian Syrian) Catholicism and figuring that he could blend in better with the Poles than other Europeans. He may be trying to figure out how to get asylum.

This is possible, though persecution of Christians by Muslims and Hindus is not as widespread over there as you think. And the pretext of religion would make people suspicious and it's not a good reason to join a new religion as well as not necessary.

If he is Muslim and he converts to Christianity there could be repercussions, this angle has been used by many Pakistanis seeking asylum in the UK.

Nickidewbear,I'm not saying that it hasn't happened,I know some Christian missionaries who went over there and they hadn't witnessed this.If this were the case they would be trying to leave the countries in droves and they're not.I'm not saying that this isn't the reason that he would try to leave.but it doesn't make sense to me.He could be doing this figuring it would be easier to get into the country.I don't know what his reason could be.

Weirdly enough, some Christians choose to stay. Also, the point was made that Javed could be Muslim (which is true: Javed/Yaved is an Arabic name and can be a Jewish name as well). He could be Jewish as well, and Muslims and some Indian (including Cochin) Jews might not be too happy that he seemingly betrayed them right now.

Nickidewbear,Too much speculation and I go with my instincts and my instincts tell me it's for reasons other than persecution.Doesn't mean that he's up to no good, but being a Muslim(I'm assuming) he would not be escaping persecution as he is not Christian in need of escaping persecution, but this is just speculation and he can't blame people for wondering what his angle is.

He's asking about documents not advice, this dude needs written evidence for his application, Poland is a back door into Europe - once youre in youre in.
