Where can I give away used clothes in Poland?

Hi,

Does any one know of any place in Warsaw where I could give away used clothes (men, women and infant clothing). I have lots of clothes that I would like to discard and hate to through them in the garbage bin. Most of them are in pretty good condition and it would be nice if someone in need could use them.

Thanks in advance!

You can either leave them near your communal bins if on an estate - people will then rummage and take them.
Or use a special clothes recycling bin either on your estate or dotted around the city. These are placed there by charities, usually. Look for them near bus stops and glass recycling banks. Alternatively, contact your nearest Eastern Borders charity who may collect them now or nearer to Xmas.

The bin may be white, creme or green and say 'odzież' and 'recyklingu' or similar. Alternatively, contact your nearest Eastern Borders charity who may collect them now or nearer to Xmas. Some bins have no handle and look like this:

The Sue Ryder Shop on ul. Bagatela (the pl. Unii Lubelskie end) are grateful for items donated. They are sold to support the charity's work around Warsaw - they operate a home for the disabled in Piaseczno (and there's often a nice selection of donated English language books too).

Sue Ryder have charity shops in Poland? I'll probably soon discover there's a PDSA Shop on Ruska Street and a Poundland next to Biedronka in Biskupin...

Merged: Where I can DONATE shoes and clothes (Caritas?) in Trojmiasto, Poland?

Where I can DONATE shoes and clothes that I do not use anymore, in Trojmiasto?

I heard there are some white boxes Caritas that are especially for these,
but I never saw one.

I am sure that a lot of poor people will definitely enjoy these clothes,
it feels like a waste to throw little-wore clothes to the garbage,
I am sure a lot of polish people will be thankful, but how can I reach them?

Thank you for your ideas

There are articles saying that clothes from boxes are giving over mostly to Asia for sale or to places where are recycled into wipers, cleaning clothes - instead to hands of poor Polish people in need.

Better give it directly to Caritas office - currently (up to October 26th) clothes (for adults and children) and foods are collected in Sopot.

Together with Caritas Parish Office at St. Michael the Archangel in Sopot we are arranging the collection of clothing for children and adults. Useful are all the winter stuff - jackets, vests, jackets, pants, gloves, hats, sweaters, etc.. We collect also food.

Things you can bring round the clock to the reception of the Zatoka Sztuki, and to the church Sw. Michala in Sopot (bottom of the salle) between the hours of 16:30 and 17:30.

Check the site, and map where it is:

Any company that export used clothes should contact by email. Or any African that want to buy used clothes should as well contact. SAMUELOKORONKWO@YAHOO.COM
