Retail chain pricing in Poland?

I was surprised to find that prices vary in two different Żabka (convenience) shops in Warsaw only about a kilometre away form each other. Maybe that's normal (what about Tesco in UK and Piggly Wiggly in the US?), but somehow I had just assumed that in one city the big chain retailers had the same price on the same goods.

As far as I'm informed isnt Zabka a franchise sort of, so that each individual owner probably has to have same goods etc. but probably they can set the prices a bit different in each store, off course within a reasonable limit.

I do love the way that you are surprised by things which Poles find completely normal. I suggest you stay away from plac Bankowy: the shock of seeing two Spolem shops directly opposite each other might be too much for your heart to take.

That's basically true. The owner can also choose to sell additional products (from an 'approved list'), so some Zabkas have a much better selection of beers than otheres.

shadowy Mid Europe Partners

What is in the slightest bit "shadowy" about Mid Europa Partners?!

WHo owns it? Where is their head office?

WHo owns it?

Hmm, perhaps the name tells you something? Mid Europa Partners LLP. I wonder who might own the company. Could it perhaps be the partners?

Where is their head office?

London is where the largest number of key staff are based. The registered office of Mid Europa Partners LLP is also in London.

Now, I'll ask you for a second time: what is in the slightest bit "shadowy" about Mid Europa Partners?

I didn't carry out an in-depth search like you did. Just Googled their website and it was't readily apparent who owned it and where it was based. But it wasn'tthat important to me -- just an off-hand comment. Do you know whose (actual names) capital (or at least the controlling stake) is behind it -- Brits, oil sheiks, Chinamen?

just an off-hand comment

So you made a comment that wasn't based on any factual reality at all?

Nothing new there, then. Move on, move on.

It wasn't readily apparent who owns it? Apart from the prominent page on the website saying 'the team' and listing the owners
