30 airmen???

By March 1944, the Polish armed forces in the west fighting under British command numbered 195,000, 165,000 at the end of that year, including about 20,000 personnel in the Polish Air Force and 3,000 in the Polish Navy. At the end of World War II, they were 195,000 strong, and by July 1945 had increased to 228,000, most of the newcomers being released prisoners-of-war and ex-labor-camp inmates.

and how many colonies did Britain have in Europe at that time (not including the 6 Counties!). If Britain hadn't entered the war on Poland's behalf, is there any evidence that germany would have taken their colonies? there was more threat from Japan on that score.

And Bonnie Prince Charlie was the great-great grandson of jan Sobieski 3rd... so does that mean Poland invaded Britain to fight the Germans?

Here is why the Brits murdered general Sikorski:

" By the spring of 1943, Sikorski had been raising the issue of POSTWAR BORDERS with the Soviet Union and had travelled to the USA to lobby support from President Roosevelt.

In April, he had lunched with Churchill in Downing Street, where he brought up the alleged massacre by the Russians of 10,000 Polish officers in the forests of Katyn, near Smolensk in the USSR. Churchill urged caution since the alliance between Stalin and the West was fragile.

Undeterred, Sikorski, without consulting the British Government, called publicly for the International Red Cross to investigate the massacres. A furious Stalin promptly broke off diplomatic relations with the Polish government in exile. His anger was conveyed to Churchill at Chartwell in Kent [in fact at Chequers] by an agitated Maisky -- the man whose plane touched down a few weeks later alongside Sikorski's in Gibraltar."

So, Britain is getting their arse kicked across Germany, North Africa and Asia, and they are to be blamed for not wanting to upset their most powerful ally in Europe.

Some historians believe that the Western front in WW1 would have been lost if Germany hadn't taken troops away to fight the Russians in the Mazurian lakes. Following Russia's withdrawal from WW1 it was only the arrival of the Americans which saved Britain and France. Of course, this would never have influenced any decisions 25 years on...

Always a good laugh to see people offering holocaust denial websites as proof of anything!

is that Irving's website? The guy who opens one of his books by saying the Polish cavalry attacked gGrman tanks because they thought they were made of cardboard.

Funny how all it takes to change his mind about the Holocaust is a spell in an Austrian jail. maybe we should put him in a Spanish one and he'll say the Spanish killed Sikorski to get Poland to free Gibraltar.

Yes,hilarious.
I see Philby gets a mention.
I wish you would stop avoiding the issue of the soviets taking the proverbial out of your so called intelligence services and ultimately the foreign policy of your spineless goverment.

So you mean you want me to be banned for going off topic. Sorry but you'll have to try harder with that one.

Of course, I'd be happy to discuss the issue you refer to in a thread where it would be on topic (but that isn't here).

LOL.
You seem very quick to offer opinions on the British goverment and their policies so why are you so coy to avoid the Katyn denial/coverup and the disasterous penetration of MI5 by the Cambridge crowd.

Whats off topic about it?
As churchill said to Anders,i know your most important people are being murdered by the soviets as they push west but as im in bed with stalin im afraid i cant offer any help on that score.

Face the facts larry, your goverment got into bed with one of the most cruel vile dictators IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.

There are many words in the dictionary to describe your goverment before during and after world war 2.
I'd choose vile.
Now,seeing as you avoid every point i have raised you are the 1st on my ignore list,or troll list as i'd prefer to call it.

As is your right (and it's nicer than many other words some would use).

However, you might also consider that Churchill didn't just have Poland to worry about... he had a whole empire to try to save. Not that makes him any better or worse for his actions, just helps explain them a little.

Excellent show, but must be watched in its entirety to understand it fully.
Stan Monteith makes many excellent points, although there are some areas that I'm sure not everyone will agree with.
This video should be watched by every student of history.

Had they done that the Soviet invasion on September 17, 1939 most likely would not have happened,

You are not exactly Von Clauswitz are you love......
How long do you think it takes to assemble an Army, then transport it across country to various Sea Ports large enough to handle transport ships (which themselves need to be recalled from as far away as Australia) then steam ship that Army across the sea into ANOTHER country, put your nations Army under the command of the host nation, then prepare all the equipment, move int forward positions and launch even the smallest strike???

Well, trust me , two weeks wouldnt do it,so,stop talking out of your fanny (as you colonials say).
If you think the British Army could have been magicaly assembled from the four corners of the world then dropped off on Germanys western borders in less than a fortnight you really need to get a grip on reality.

Even today it takes months to assemble an invasion force in another country....do you think Uncle Sams boys set off from Cali one morning and crossed into Iraq that afternoon?

Basicaly love, do some reading, switch on your brain and people will stop laughing at your pathetic moaning jingoism.

Edit, she is obviously bonkers..."Chem Trails" LMFHAO you loon.... you rave about crazy folks who bark at the moon and then come on here and lecture people about history, that and the link to David irvine seriously marks you out as a nutter first class :):)

While you are waiting for that to happen, perhaps you can go into detail about the way or ways in which Britain failed to live up to her treaty obligations?

No you have not, you just keep repeating the same old tired lies and refusing to answer the question of what assistance it was within Britain's power to give in September or October 1939 which was not given.

Nice to know that you also lied about putting me on your ignore list.
