The same; every sympathy.for your sad loss.

He'd certainly been posting here for a long time; maybe since the start.

My sympathies for your loss Charlie.
He contacted me a few years ago now offering me a place to stay and his help should I decide to move to Poland.
I always remember what a kind offer that was considering he didn't even know me.
RIP Avalon.

Avalon was one of the most sensible posters on PF. It was a pleasure to read his posts on these fora. His passing is a great loss for the PolishForums.

RIP Avalon.

He was a decent chap. Damn he wasn't that old either. RIP.
I think that he is survived by the young daughter and her mother. Sending good thoughts their way.

Very sad news indeed. He was a top bloke and would give help to anyone if he could. I remember he sent me many photos of a project he had done in Poland (from start to finish) when I asked a question in a thread, about buildings in Poland, many years ago.

It also transpired that he use to live only 3 miles away from me when he had his business in the UK, but unfortunately our paths never crossed. This also comes as a big shock as he was posting on PF just a couple of months ago. My condolences to family and friends.

RIP Avalon

RIP Glen, how that happened? He was one of the first people I ever meet in this forum last June. Very sad news which deeply touched me.

I enjoyed some good debates with him too. I'm not going to pretend that I was on great terms with him or anything, but he did give a very real perspective of what it was like to do business here. To his credit, even in the debates about the EU and so on, he was never personal, unlike most posters on here.

I think that he is survived by the young daughter and her mother. Sending good thoughts their way.

Likewise Ironside. He was proud of his daughter, wasn't he?

Very sorry indeed to hear of Avalon's passing. I for one might not have shared his views on PF, but that is irrelevant. None of us know each other, but there must be some sort of connection there along the way. My sincere condolences to the OP and anyone else here who intimately knew Glen.

Sad news :-/ The name didn't ring the bell so I checked his posts and unfortunately he was one of those few foreigners who had great respect for Poland. He appreciated many things about Poland that so many others hate... RIP Avalon.

I recall reading one of Avalons last threads about Poland in which he praised many things about his adopted country. I never had the pleasure of meeting the fella, from his post he seemed to have found peace, fully enjoying his surroundings.Living in Poland has a way to turn a good man into a bitter twisted soul, it is wonderful to hear Avalon shared in last years those who loved him dearly. It is said we all die twice, once when we take our last breath, finally when our names are forgotten. With this in mind I hope you live on Glen Davis RIP.
