nah, the mental age is too high.

The thing is, I have friends who can't find clothes in most shops because the trend is for ridiculously small clothes. One woman even went into a shop and the assistant said, "Oh no, we only have clothes for slim, pretty girls here!"

Oi, what idiot moved this into the Polonia forum? It's nothing to do with Polish people in the UK - unless you count the reason why Polish men don't date British women ;)

Are you saying that Polish women don't look like that? becuase they do.

Today I standed on my scale and it told me I'm on the verge of underweight... different countries, different problems... ;)

Yes,most Polki are rather slim by western standards.Fortunately.
Fat women are supposed to be more happy on the other hand while slim are often neurotic.Although I am a fan of the heavy Slavic type,I also do my favors to the feather category.

Which standards would they be?

The average Pole is fatter than the average Dutch, Irish, Danish, French, Italian, Belgian...

... yeah British et al...

I think it's advisable NOT to speak for your Polish men in this instance... ;)

You really are a picky guy.
And how does a heavy Slavic type look like?
I never saw one.

you're right..:)
Going back to the OP, the reason so many British men go out with POlish girls is because many of these Brits are so boring nerdy and skinny that only Polish girls, desperate for change, would touch 'em with a bargepole.

I hate to generalize, I merely report what I have seen..:

Oh don't, that summarisation would be too ironic for these guys to get their tiny heads around...

Shall we just stick to the usual theme of "Polki Prowess" and leave it at that...? ;D

And how does a heavy Slavic type look like?

Like our extra slim.Anyway what I mean is that basically by western standards there exist only slim and super slim to the point of starving Slavic girls although the situation unfortunately has changed a bit in the last decade before which all Czech girls for example looked like models.

Indeed Polki tend to go for a different kind of men than western and mediteranean girls do.I would describe them as average to mediocre looking, effeminate to gay and boring although it can also be the muscular village guy as well.

I wonder if you could file for breach of contract if you get married based on pictures. You know, you choose a girl from a photo where she's slim and then a few months pass and she is huge.

I certainly wouldn't let them play the sit on the face and guess my weight game. They'd crush me.

I hate all these surveys that say that 63% of the UK are overweight who are then behind New Zealand. I have lived in New Zealand and I can assure you that, while there, I saw a far fewer unhealthy overweight people there. Judging people by BMI is not always a good idea. It's a simple way to assess if people are overweight or not, but it will never be the be all and end all. I am overweight, but not by a very big margin and I have an active job and lifestyle. However, if you look at my BMI then there is a good chance I need an ambulance. BMI sucks the boaby.

[edit: I am not complaining about the surveys saying the UK is all overweight, I am just using that as an example of how these surveys are completely innacurate and citing them (even from a source like forbes) isn't really helping anything]

Fair enough Cardno85, as long as the stance is adopted universally : )

As I'm sure you know, all too often posters here have an al a carte approach to stats - embracing and disseminating when the results suit them and dismissing completely when they don't.

I know you were making a particular point about BMI but really even the most cursory examination of many given statistics will reveal apparent glaring weaknesses in scope, definition etc etc

Very true, I have lost count of how many different "rankings" of universities, education, weight, etc I have seen cited on here. It is, however, quite interesting how, depending the source, the test group, etc, different charts measuring the same thing can be used in both sides of an argument.

On another note (i think it was Pete), you are right that the website is from North England (the website does say West Yorkshire). However obesity is a huge problem throughout the UK. I think, when you look at Poland (just not wanting to stray too far). Just a walk along the busy parts of town and on the trams, you will see a higher proportion of slim girls than if you did the same in the UK. This is limited mostly to young women though.

Do you think those girls are ugly? I'm no man, but I think the girls with the colorful dresses could be attractive to many men.

Well, I don't know any young Polish women being that grossly overweight. I met several British girls of the size of a young whale. I think it's just far more socially acceptable in the UK. They even had boyfriends, which probably wouldn't have happened here!

The thing is, I have friends who can't find clothes in most shops because the trend is for ridiculously small clothes.

In the UK I had trouble with finding clothes small enough, cause their size 8 would be our 10 and so on - I suppose to make women feel better? I saw plenty of clothes in sizes like 26 or so. Not very common in our shops, so there can't be many people that would need them?

I also noticed that Polki tend to dress in tight clothes like slavic usual while western women choose more loose clothes even if they are slim.I guess it is a social obligation not to be stabbed by the fatter women who will be exposed. In Poland the fat ones are really ashamed.

The opposite also is true.Fat men would never get so easily a gf in the West as they can in Poland.Generally in Anglosaxon and mediteranean countries the situation is favourable to women to extreme points sometimes they even have laws in favour of them!

I've never noticed much of a difference in preference in that respect. Perhaps tighter jeans are more fashionable in Poland. But clothes in the UK seem to be skimpier. Tiny skirts, bare midrifts, etc...you don't see that so often in Poland.

Most of mine were rather skinny I attribute this to diet and that some of them are vegetarians.(it really helps).Czech women are a bit more relaxed.

All kidding aside.. I often wondered why so many brits go to Poland.? The Poles are pouring into England and the opposite is happening with Brits going to Poland.. What is the attraction?

( Confused )

Simple.

Poles are going to the UK for money. The Brits are coming here for a more laid back life.
