Pakis VS Poles in the UK

I wonder how well the Poles will fair in the not too distant future with regard to establishing themselves in the UK in comparison to other ethnic minorities.

Indians and Pakistanis have historically done very well for themselves in the UK. Many 2nd + generation Asians own businesses and hold relatively well respected positions within the community, positions that were traditionally taken by the well to do English stock.

Its a basic 1+1 mentality, as in deprived people that emigrated from countries with poor economies all of a sudden have the opportunity to better themselves, the parents slog their guts out to provide better education and privileges for their offspring that they themselves never had as children. A generation or two later we see the results.

For example i was driving past a bus stop the other morning at school bus time, 8 out of 10 children were not white. This was an area where traditionally rich white English people had always lived.

Indians

Yep.

Pakistanis have historically done very well for themselves in the UK.

65%(75 per cent for women/50per cent of men)of them are on the welfare. First, second, third generation. All on the scratcher. 50% of the blacks under 35 are unemployed.

But sure, didnt Mo win yas a few medals!

The white race is being bred out of existence. The above is happening everywhere.

Pakis

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs#Paki

(United Kingdom) used as a derogatory term directed towards South Asians (and sometimes Middle Eastern people), it is usually considered offensive when used by a non-Asian in the UK.

Why Pakis?lol I would say Irish VS Poles in the UK would be more appropriate.

Come on. Don`t get on Wroclaw Boy`s nerves. He might turn against you and make your life miserable.

PS. BTW, should we be grateful to WB for not saying Pakis vs Pollacks?

Nah, the Irish dont count, theyre white and know the lingo.

Pakis may find it offensive but the term clearly defines to major ethnic groups i.e. Indians and Pakistanis. Asia's a big area, i couldn't say Asians.

well my dad came from Ireland and I heard it all as a kid, was my dad in the IRA, was he very stupid, was he an alcoholic, people mispronouncing our name as though that was really amusing and original, the little smirk/comments from neighbours(some of those quite recent actually!), assumptions about our religion....

now of course everyone 'likes' the Irish.....:):):)
btw 'paki' is offensive and it is disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

yeah usual story of being brainwashed by the media, its not so prevalent now.

I remember having Irish kids at my school and the very accent meant they were IRA, within school banter.

Without googling i dont know what disingenuous means, either way i dont really care. Paki is short for Pakistani, and derogatory or not represents a specific Asian community in the UK. I'm sure they can absorb a word in relation to the better life my country has furnished them with. They can refer to me as they so wish, no probs.

Many Asians who worked hard have done very well but unfortunately there is a lot of jelousy especially from the lazy people in the English communities, the ones who refuse to work but don't like to see anyone do better. But they will happily go to asian shops, be seen by asian doctors, pharmacists and lawyers etc. Now many are jelous of polish people, saying that they take their jobs. They like to blame others because they are too lazy to get an education or work hard

the ones who refuse to work but don't like to see anyone do better.

The ones who refuse to work usually cant get a job much better than minimum wage, so they're actually better off not working and staying on benefits.

Many Asians who worked hard have done very well

Asians stick together like the Jews used to and so they should. They keep money within the family and look after themselves. Their work ethic is one of the best given that their parents are extremely familiar with severe poverty.

But they will happily go to asian shops, be seen by asian doctors, pharmacists and lawyers

Thats a bit of a contradiction in terms, they dont really have much choice with some of those things and i wouldnt say happily, there are a lot of racists still in the UK.

They like to blame others because they are too lazy to get an education or work hard

I wouldnt say lazy, although that is the term commonly thrown around by certain biased media outlets. No, its environment - not too many people would be too lazy to go earn £2000 a week. Theres a very good reason why Asians hold positions in law, medicine and other associated well paid positions. Its the environment of which they have been exposed to.

that is just a pernicious New Labour myth used to justify unbridled immigration

This was an area where traditionally rich white English people had always lived.

Once they move in the whites move out.

deprived people that emigrated from countries with poor economies

Thats the opposite of what Delphi is trying to tell us.

I heard it all as a kid

I was living in Solihull when the Mulberry Bush bomb went off. I heard it clearly 10 or so miles away. Birmingham was not a place to be Irish for a long time afterwards. The diabolical actions of a few, tarnished the reputation of many. The day Adams and McGuiness walked through the doors of the House of Commons made and still makes my blood boil today.

Asians stick together like the Jews used to and so they should.

This is exactly what breeds racial tension. It engenders a deep mistrust. This is why the Pakistani's have failed on the whole to do anything other than reproduce and frighten old ladies with their attire.

The UK has become a safari park without walls, and when the next flood comes, Noah only needs to make one stop.

Will the Poles make their mark? Some will but the majority won't. For whatever reason many have chosen the "Us and Them" ideal and do not integrate.
