Is moving to UK now a good idea? - antipolish prejudice of the Brits

Im not talking about london, dont know about anyone else talking about london either.....Birmingham,Scotland ,Ruislip,Donny.no london though....

so, from your perspective; when have you been stared out from a pub by Poles?

I tell you what I think, I think that there is a lot of BS in the air. Poles this, Poles that - BS. The crux of the matter is that Brits are not happy about influx of Poles and a fact that they have no practically control over that. The reason is only one, number of Poles and the fact that they are everywhere not only in certain ciies or certain areas.

Some Brits do not like it, even many - fair play. They have a right - not to like it. They can feel - hey WTF?

Problem is they are brainwashed by PC - it not nice, not to like foreigners, it is backwood, it is racist ........
So they come up with a lot of nonsense or minor things which they wouldn't notice if they were done by other Brits. In short they come up with a lot of BS and you too, instead of saying - I/we do not like it one bit!

I forgot to mention, my mate who got stared out is Hungarian.
PC is not brainwashing it is circumlocution.

PC talk: Poles are very hard working
Straight talk: Poles are cheap manual labour
Gutter talk: Poles are sh1t shovellers

I doubt that many dislike Poles as they are very hard working.
I'll get my coat...

There's not even a TITLE let alone SOURCE on that nice little poster Sheela, anyway it's obviously BS, how can Irish be removed from UK, it's really not possible. Besides where's the Aussies? Why just the few 'selected' nationalities? What were the convictions FOR????

I REALLY OBJECT TO STUPIDITY...:)

According to the latest Home Office figures, 27,563 EU nationals were convicted in 2010, up from 10,736 in 2007.

Yet only 1,480 EU citizens were removed from the country last year.

Top of the list of offenders were Poland, whose citizens collected 6,777 convictions, reflecting the large numbers who have headed here since the controversial expansion of the EU. Next came Romania with 4,343.

Bulgarians were responsible for 296 crimes in 2010.

There you go.

Home Office figures are supposed to be correct and authentic, regardles of the masthead it was published in. However the list only shows criminals from EU.

link?

Ya see I woulda believed that image until you said it came from the Daily Mail.
Come on Sheila, you cannot use the Mail as a source, would you also use Fox News as a source, or other quality publications such as Caravan weekly, Boy Scout Companion etc?

There is no information on what they count as convictions.....if you pay a traffic fine, it's probably a conviction If you're given a ticket for drinking on the street that too is probably a conviction. If you don't pay your BS council tax and (other hidden charges of moving to not-so-great britain) you're convicted, no TV license? Conviction.

Plus these are only figures concerning EU, what about all the illegal traders working in engerland from Pakistan/India/Turkey/Nigeria etc. Scores of them are convicted every day......

*edit.........actually according to the article below a "conviction" is actually an arrest.

Have a read of this post which concerns an earlier article written by (the equally crap) Telegraph regarding a similar piece of rag journalism.
Just because something is written in a news paper doesn't mean it's true

ministryoftruth.me.uk/2008/04/18/immigration-crime-and-statistics-abuse/

And the Telegraph article it is based on

telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/4952904/Crime-by-foreigners-doubles-in-five-years.html

Here's an interesting quote from it
"Any rise [in crime] has been broadly proportionate to the number of people from those communities coming into this country. People are saying crime is rising because of this influx. Given 1 million people have come in, that doesn't make sense as crime is significantly down."

“Any rise [in crime] has been broadly proportionate to the number of people from those communities coming into this country. People are saying crime is rising because of this influx. Given 1 million people have come in, that doesn’t make sense as crime is significantly down.”

That makes it sound like it's OK.

It doesn't matter if it's "broadly proportional" or not; the land area of the UK has remained the same. So if you live in a city of 1/2 million, the population rises to 600 000 due to immigration, and crime rises "broadly proportionally" to the rise in immigration, it doesn't mean that your city is just as safe as before. What it actually means is that it has become significantly less safe, because city boundaries do not expand just because there are more residents.

That means that, as population density rises, the chances of you encountering a criminal (per square mile) are significantly higher. But left-wing "think-tanks" think we're all too thick to work this out. Fortunately, some of us were educated long before Labour's educational dumbing-down had taken hold ;)

The only reason that crime could possibly be "down" now is because people have given up reporting many crimes, and the police have effectively "decriminalised" many so-called minor crimes.

Should send them to Australia.

Unfair to Australians. Anthrax Island would be far better.

[quote]The only reason that crime could possibly be "down" now

actually crime is up, that is becasue when Toney B.liar came to power , one of this election things had been to "bring more offenders to justice". Rather than catching more muggers, rapists, burglars and other scum like that, this was achieved through the creation of many more offences.

I had a long chat about it with with my solicitor when I was locked up for the day under the mental health act ( another of Toney's things) for expressing surprise at being taken to the police station for a non existent crime. Get this, I WAS NOT EVEN ARRESTED, and yet I was held and my details and DNA put onto TOney's database

\So when dumb broads like Sheela show me factoids from Daily Mail I am like, yeh right, whatever.( excuse my teen english I am very tired)

An additional point is the casual racism of magistrates of which I have had recent experience, but that's another story.

I did put a couple of interesting links in to back up my tales, but they are not sticking to the page..anyway if anyone is interestd, just google "creation of new crimes Labour"

Absolutely. The only "real crimes" in this country now are motoring offences, "hate crimes", owing money, and subversion.

Look at what happens when you throw a fire extinguisher at police (with no actual harm done), and compare it to what you get for murder and rape.

Or refuse to pay your council tax if you're a 70+ year-old pensioner, and compare that to what you get for mugging.

Or, if you're a white British middle-aged Christian, publically say that you "disagree" with homosexuality (not say that you "hate homosexuals", simply disagree) - while black rappers can quite happily go on stage or pirate radio and rap about how they want to "bun dem battybwoy" and get away with it.

I could go on, but you get my point. But this is left-wing liberalism in action.

Good God! What did he do?! Getting banged up for motoring offences takes some real work these days. My cousin's paramour was recently up before the beak for dangerous driving while drunk and while disqualified (having been disqualified firstly for driving drunk and then having the disqualification extended for driving while disqualified). He got the disqualification extended again and 120 hours of community service.

Having fully agreed with a post nb 161. it is easy to notice the great manipulation with statistics , just to spread hatred towards some immigrants , who in big numbers settled in Uk after 2004 when the 10 new countries entered EU , among which there was Poland of course . Polish emigrants were coming to UK in the biggets numbers due to the fact that Poland is the most populated country among all the new members .

The period between 2001 and 2010 saw significant change in the UK's foreign-born population. In particular, the 2004 and 2007 enlargements of the European Union have led to mass migration from the likes of Bulgaria, Latvia, Romania, Poland, Slovakia and Lithuania.[1] The number of Polish-born people resident in the UK increased from 60,711 in 2001 to an estimated 532,000 in the year to December 2010, whilst the Lithuanian-born population increased from 4,363 to an estimated 87,000.[

In 2010, the most common foreign countries of birth were India, Poland

/wiki/Foreign-born_population_of_the_United_Kingdom

Now bringing the number of that foreign born population in UK and the statistics of convictions from the post nb 156 , we get a very different list :

Pomania 18.1
Lithuania 20.8
Latvia 24.7
Portugal 45
Poland 78
France 107
Ireland 167

The above list shows that out of 18. 1 people living in UK , but born in Romania 1 person was convicted , while Polish born residents in UK convictions per capita is quite low , it is twice less common than among Portugese residents , putting our country closer to France , which no one considers as a country which brings violence to UK.

It seems obvious that forming prejudices against Poles was the main issue hidden in that newspaper`s article.

If the number of Polish born residents is larger than that included in official statistics the ratio of convictions is even more favourable for Poles and puts our country as the least violent of all . Some claim that Polish born residents in UK are as large as 1 000 000 , so the ratio of convictions is as low as 147 .

Such comments don't surprise me. Firstly, generalisations like "England is sick" are always going to stir up trouble and that's typical of tabloid newspapers. Secondly, whenever a perceived foreigner criticises their host country, the natives rush to its defence, even though they probably share much of the criticism - but only natives can criticise their country, right? Only natives have that privilege ;) It is basically hypocrisy.

Not all the English are negative toward Polish immigration. Manchester has a proud tradition of welcoming immigrants that has spanned many years, I grew up with friends who were of Irish and Afro-Caribbean descent, cohesion in my city has always existed. This though is not as common place in other UK cities. You are right, there are some quarters who have voiced "the Polish are taking all our jobs" spiel, which has led me to begin work on an arts project to counter this sham. An interactive platform shall be developed allowing Poles in Manchester to tell their stories and share their experiences which will be live in the city from early next year.
