Hi everyone,

I know I'm a few years late with this but I would like to welcome all the Polish and other Eastern European people to the UK. I work with many of them and I have to say they are some of the hardest working and nice people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Enjoy the UK people!!

Phil

Someone gives you a compliment and you get insulted by it. How very Polish.

Half blue, half brown. Anyone who lives here knows that.

The attitudes found in backwards villages are anything but central Europe.

Same goes for the architecture, the economy, the cuisine, the alcohol and the culture.

Not that there's anything at all wrong with that. Some of us like Poland as it is, without the need to pretend it's something it isn't

Wulkan

Now not wishing in anyway to add more fuel to the fire, but how do you explain this -
millenniumindicators.un.org/unsd/methods/m49/m49regin.htm
This is actually the UN, not some obscure source. So it is not difficult to see why the OP claimed PL was in Eastern Europe.

cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/fields/2144.html

Is the CIA obscure source too?

This is actually the UN

Probably the most definitive source.
Wulkan  - | 3136

and now prove why the UN is more definitive than the CIA, you won't

Because the CIA is only one agency from one country, and the UN is a massive organisation of various countries, of which Poland belongs to?

It's Serbia. As Eastern as they come.

the UN - Politically biased source

the CIA - independant, objective geography

I'm going to go with Wulkan and the CIA on this one. I know quite a few Polish people would consider themselves as being Central Europeans and consider terms like 'Polish and other Eastern Europeans...' to be quite offensive. Other than that, I would agree with the OP:

I work with many of them and I have to say they are some of the hardest working and nice people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I'm glad you noticed too. Everyone is so warm and friendly here, I love it:)

insulting us by calling Easter European

the UN - Politically biased source

Biased towards whom?

the CIA - independan

Independent of what?

'Polish and other Eastern Europeans..

The language, cuisine and culture all look squarely East.

How being called an Easter European can be an insult?

If I'd call you gay it would be an insult because you are not gay.

If you'd call me Eastern European it would be an insult because simply I am not one.

I couldn't explain it any simpler so I hope it will help you to understand.

The language,

oh wait so what is according to the UN Romania with romance language doing in Eastern Europe and where is Slavic speaking Serbia?

cuisine

well ofcourse, even Polish national dish is Germanic

culture

what culture? Religion? Poland - Catholic, Eastern Europe - orthodox

How does that affect Poland one way or the other?

well ofcourse, even Polish national dish is Germanic

Pirozki, kolbasa, holubsi, sc'chi and kasza?

what culture? Religion? Poland - Catholic, Eastern Europe - orthodox

You think culture is the same as religion?

holubsi?? sc'chi?!?! lol whatever are them None of these is Polish national dish.

Religion is part of the culture. You didn't say specifically which part of the cultore you meant, I guess you didn't even have anything specific on your mind and just automatically wrote something to disagree with me as I long time ago noticed you have a strange tendency of doing so...
