Gosh, gosh, British families, wake up, I am here, your future nanny and au-pair and childminder and cleaner, ironer in one, hire me, please, I wait for it.

Hope you find a good family to work with! Some could do with ironing themselves.

Thank you for your post, Chleb, just imagine a family with 3 children. How much ironing they have. How much time they lose doing boring things like the one. I'd do this instead of them.

:)
But, if I will find a family who would do the ironing themselves, it would be the perfect expected family for me.

Don't you think you look too good for nanny? Don't you think you are too good for such kind of job? ;)

PeteOlsztyn. Kids deserve a lot of respect and a warm, nice heart. They become better then. Or was it a comment about my appearance. If so, in reality I am much uglier. So, why am I single, tell me, friend, if i look good. Maybe the topic should be really changed into Noreenb and men, not necesarily about noreenb and her job.

Really, i am a lonely person who needs many kind words. So, thank you all the people who care a bit for my life.
Thank you also very much Vincent.

Shouldn't nanny be ugly to not compete with a mum? ;)

Do you really like detache houses in the skyline? Do you like musty "properties" 4m x 5m ?
Do you like cobbles, bricks and funny wooden green fences? ;) Think twice.

It can be like that here.

If you want to work in the UK, avoid job adverts for the UK in Poland, unless its for highly skilled work - personal contacts are best.

For the type of work you've mentioned, I'd recommend a magazine called 'The Lady'. If they don't have an online version, perhaps someone in the UK could send you the latest copy. I'm not in the UK now, but maybe someone here can help.

Ah the UK dream. Is there even one?

It's better to have a dream, than to have no ambition at all.

For the type of work you've mentioned, I'd recommend a magazine called 'The Lady'.

There is such a magazine?? Mind you, I didn't know there was a magazine called "Chicken Week" until I watched HIGNFY haha :)

Here's a link to the job ads in The Lady. There are a few pages, and something might suit you:

i am so grateful for all the information.
I noticed here, on PF a page easyaupair.com and I registered there. So my first step, a thread on PF is behind me, also a second step what was finding a good page with a lot of advertisements.

However, nice and helpful people from PF a still wait for your supporting words and any infos and knowledge you have about the topic. Also about being a teacher assistant on lessons in British schools.

Wooow, I just noticed they sent profiles of 10 families which could be proper for me. What a nice page.
Messages, so far 0.
We will see. The page looks good.

Noreen, just type in "Polish Teaching Assistant" in google and it will throw up many jobs around the UK.

If it is experience you want to gain, brilliant, if it's money, then forget it, its not paid very well.

My advice would be to stay away from being a nanny, you may end up being a house keeper and general dogs body.

Good luck x

Of course, he may have a point...

How rude..I'll say no more...

i kind of just meant that taste is subjective......he can think what he likes about English architecture....you and I both however, Amathyst, know of course that it is superlative..(in most parts)

English architecture you say?
I am not a big fun of village English architecture. i am rather in love of the language and thinking about deteched houses, wooden fences, musty properties and brics I see Warmia and Mazury district rather than Scotish or Irish areas.

And suddenly on my last post appeared advertisement: "technical translations" and disappeared. Why?
Ashhhhhhhh, whata jinx.
Oh, by the way, am I really in love with the language?
Or with homme, men generally people who send me so many useful links?

I thought i was tired enough to go to bed.
So, I went there, imagined some nice situations with some men and came back again to read my thread.
If it will become too boring, let me know.
S****...Aren't I too nice? Maybe I should become bad or bat or.....bed, than, a cool family will answer me.
PF is compelling, Chleb, i noticed you are one of the new members.
Watch out. It causes THEADDICTION.
At the beginning i vivited the page only a few times a month, because I didn't want to forget things i learnt before preparing to my CAE exam, now I do this almost every day.

Wish me luck, nice people from PF.

As some others have mentioned you may be over qualified for a nanny or au pair. Poles have a problem of selling themselves short and taking any kind of job. It's tough job hunting a thousand miles (?) away. Been there done that. If you want to relocate to UK, relocate. Move and find an apartment. Job hunt from there. It's not as difficult as you imagine. Actually the Euro's in quite a funk right now and the best places for employment on the continent for emigre's are Switzerland and the Scandinavians. The other place to be would be Canada or the USofA (specifically for a Pole, Chicago or the oil patch states of Texas or North Dakota).

@Meathead
Good advice. It's clear that you're capable of far more than just nanny work, so use it as a step towards something better (e.g. teaching).

Anybody of the nice men interested? London, me, May or June and you, hmm, NorthMancPolak, for example or dtaylor5632, hmmm?

Just to warn you - that single comment, although aimed at friend-recruitment, will put some women off ... because you sound like you are on the look-out, and it wouldn't be wise to take such a woman into one's house. (I wouldn't take me, if I were on the look-out ...)

Be careful about that. Living in someone's house might seem like a straightforward thing, but it often isn't. Even a 'nice' family can turn out to be a nightmare. And if you add the element of jealousy into the mix, well ... you might need to hide the knives at night.

You want the truth? It looks more like the opening Gambit in a scam to me.
Wouldnt be surprised if "she" was actually a 50 year old man who has found a few photos of a woman on line......

So, ok, any sexual or based on relation woman-man comments, yees, or no? Never-ever?
I thought Great Britain is a European one of the most developed country. I though London is e metropolis. Why being Polish is equal to getting an edventure with some Muslim or other strange Turkish idiots whose culture is so different that understanding each other on so many levels is impossible? I am not rasist. Just Catholic and some opinions drives me mad.

I don't catch. I don't really get it.
Put me off? For what? A single joke, which one? Men, homme and men?
It's funny for me.
Turkish, Arab, and Muslim and southern of course on my left side and NorthMancPolak +Peter Olsztyn on my right side, show me London, please. Would be cool!!!!

I can't wait for it?
No, seriously,, My only friend is in Coventry I guess, anybody from Londoners from here to offer me a single room for a month, lets say, June.

I forgot to say I will take Southern with me! Promise!
No, really, with no jokes. If any of you Polish and not nightmare British can offer me a room for June it would be nice.

Is a month a time long enough to find a flat and job in London?
The last question is the most important for me. How much money should I take for 4-6 weeks to London?
