Do all Brits take (illegal) drugs?

I have to say that from all the drugs ive sampled grade A cocaine is the best if you get the good stuff - rocket fuel.....

Yes, yes it is.

Speed is dodgy stuff. We only ever took it when we could't afford coke. It's rough and nasty and a bad comedown. If coke is champagne, speed is Buckfast ; )

The problem with speed is the same as with coke. What else is in it? There was a lot of shake an bake meth going around in the states with lots of nice ingredients that you got in addition to the meth. Not nice, not nice at all.

Don't knock the Buckie ;) It's made by Benedictine Monks, you know? ;)

Class A drugs? Not for me although the morphine in hospital was a memorable experience.

Yes,cocaine causes much more euphoria than amphetamines and has less adverse effects except when taken intravenously.(then it is dangerous). But cocaine sniffers sometimes lose their noses by rupture of diaphragm(the famous golden nose).

Class A drugs?

Does class ''A'' guarantee the best quality? :)

So, what about in Poland then - what is your impression?

among young ppl (16-30):

- about 90% tried for once mj/hashish
- about 20-30% tried for once "extasy" pills/amphetamine
- less than 10% tried for once lsd or other psychodelics.

These are mine impressions not necceserly true.

Among students talking about someone using drugs doesn't make a fuss or scandal at all. There are lots of people who say firmly "no" to drugs but they tolarate ppl who uses drugs (as its none of their business, and they quite indifferent on this problem).

Older people associates all drugs with heroin and addiction. They don't distinguish between drugs at all and have little knowledge on this subject. Of course most of them never have anything to do with drugs. Whenever they hear word drugs they go panic.

class ''A''

Who calls them class A?The junkies?
People who become alcoholics in Poland would have become heroin addicts in Greece.

Ecstacy pills form the 90's, come on they blew your head off:

A drug fueled party, my first.

Anybody remember snowballs? 20,000 ravers off their heads, ecstacy ruled in those days and the music.......

Don't knock the Buckie ;)

Well a Scot never would eh? ; )

Buckfast abuse/intake/consequences in certain areas in Scotland is supposedly notorious.

Dunno how much of this is Daily Mail (or the Scottish equivalent) hysteria or what though?!

Edit: Just saw your post Zeti - basically sounds much the same as here (and most of western Europe) then.

I find this to be a general difference between Poland and Ireland/Britain and I would not just put it down to old people either.

Not sure what you mean Sean?

Ecstacy pills form the 90's,

That's a point, I don't think Poland went through the rave scene like we did.

In Dublin, it went from everyone locked on flaggins of cider knocking the heads off each other to raves and everyone dancing and hugs

Many were in those days Zeti - wasn't illegal for ages. You could get it like you can valium these days and it's potential for addiction wasn't fully realised. Wasn't regarded as a big deal.

Amphetamine was first invented in Germany and used by Waffen SS with the blessings of Hitler

It was invented in the 19th Century by a Romanian chemist and was also used by the US and UK during the last war. During the first war, it was on sale in decorative packets to mail to family members in the army.

Laced

The impurity of street drugs is one of the best arguments for decriminalisation.

For sure the british prime minister who ordered the invasion in Suez was.

Now the modern combat drugs are the anesthetics because they make invulnerable to pain.Iraqi insurgents in Faluza had taken anesthetics and bullets did not make them fall they kept standing up like zombies.

Not true, not true. We in łódź have really strong rave scene but in the years 1995-2005

Khat

Khat's a sedative or mild drug, no?, i don't think it would be good for armies, PCP (angel dust) on the other hand... make a guy run through a brick wall.

Not true, not true. We in łódź have really strong rave scene but in the years 1995-2005

Okay, I did know it was popular here, like in Ireland.
Did people take ecstasy when you went?

khat is opposite of a sedative :)

Good point, Seanny :) Again, we trust people to be responsible with so many things. To throw away wrapping papers, to honour agreements and not be OTT with drugs. Even if I was that way inclined, I wouldn't trust the vendors. They should be the guinea pigs for any potentially harmful new drugs.

Khat's a seditive

If anything, Khat's a mild stimulant, but I agree it wouldn't be great for an army; you have to chew it for a hell of a long time to get much effect. Ephedrine (legal in Norway, by the way) would be a better choice.

Of course

It was a little bit more cheesy music than acid house at early 90s/late 80s. But it was really popular in £ódź (hardcore breaks, happy hardcore). Also the drum and base scene was strong.

For sure it influenced his decision because these drugs make someone impulsive.Maybe Hitler was affected too and took too many rushed aggressive decisions.Pilots who bombed heavily civilians in Iraq told the jury they did it because army amphetamines caused them increased combat state and impulsivity.

Unlikely. The alliance with France and the United States may have, though. ;-)

.Maybe Hitler was affected too and took too many rushed aggressive decisions.

Some historians believe that the cocktail of drugs he was taking towards the end of the war had an effect on his decision-making.

I watched in a documentary that it was likely.I am also not sure how many decisions Churchill took in a drunk state.
