I noticed this morning that Lloyds bar in Carlisle are now advertising that they are selling 3 brands of Polish beer. Great news as I like polish beer.
Cost is £2.40 per bottle though! - I bet they are making a good profit. How much is beer in a Polish bar? £0.75 - £1.00?
In the province it would cost you about 3,5/4zł. One pound = about 5,6 zł. However the price is bigger in the cities. On the Stary Rynek, the center of Poznań, you will pay 8zł, while in Gdańsk it can even cost you 22zł.
Yeah I agree... As a justification a can only say that because of the treasonable alcohol I was temporarily insane, and didn't knew what I was doing. :)
There was an artical in the local newspaper today about a shop owner who has started stocking Polish food. Apperently it is selling so well to both english & polish people that he sells out allmost as soon as the food arrives. One of the foods mentioned was birds milk. Can you imagine milking a bird!
When I read through the article I found out it had nothing to do with birds.......
I saw many polish beer in UK. Why do they appreciate it?Because its alcohol percentage is bigger than in english beer. That's why they like it...it's easy to get drunk...and of course quite cheap:)
I can't say I like but I definetely can state that I hate english beer. The reason why is that I had a terible hangover after I had drunk one calsberg shandy. It happened three times. Thank you very much!:)
Carlsberg is just nasty beer. I like pL beer more than any other....and the higher % is definitely better. I do like 1 English beer- Boddingtons...tap only though :)
My favourite beer is Żywiec ...searched every where for it when i came home from Poland and i was so pleased when i eventually found a store selling it here. We got lots of Polish shops here but none of them are licensed to sell beer unfortunately
I drink tyskie unfortunatly its hard to get in England, in fact I dont think I've ever seen a pub that sells polish beer. I'd agree that corona is a good foreign beer too.
We do however have a polish shop and I go there once a week.
My favourite ones are German beers - they don't make me sick, because there is little chemicals in it, since Germans believe in the natural brewing process or at leastthey are trying. There are a lot of chemicals in Polish beers, but if someone likes them and can drink them it's fine with me. The only one I can drink is Zywiec.
H - nice to hear from you. I have to say that anything German goes with me, since I spend a lot of time in Berlin when living in Poland, as for Austrian beers, I don't have a favourite one either, but since you are saying that Ottakringer is not good I will take your word for it.
You have mentioned some time ago another Austrian beer, which name has slipped my mind - you know - old age is creeping in me - so please remind me, what it was.
Well having just got back from Poland I can honestly say Polish beer is lovely and also Whetherspoons have been selling it for some time now, fortunately most of the povy chavs dont drink it - bit scared of changed...so its always in the fridge..
I dont really get a hangover from Polish beer same as Czech
