Could any of the Warsaw residents on the forum please advise me?
Driving into Jana Pawla (city centre) Monday morning from the north ( don't care for the A2 motorway route)
What would be the best route given present roadworks etc?
I have a meeting at 9 ( cant take the train as I am fully loaded with gear)
Thanks for any help.

There'll be traffic, but if I were you, I'd come in along the Wisłostrada and then along aleja Solidarności at that time. Last time I tried the alternative via Marymont, it was a disaster with traffic, though it seemed more logical on the map.

You can also use the ratruns through Żolibórz, making sure to shout some abuse at a certain PF friend in the process ;) But I'm not sure if Mickiewicza will be jammed at that time?

The latter seems a better bet from Mlawa and the north.
Unless a Varszawian comes along with the answer from the horses' mouth I will take your bet.
Thanks Delph.

Could be, I've only ever used the Wisłostrada in the evening when it didn't seem so bad leaving the city.

Make sure to avoid the sewage factory near Pałac Kultury though, I heard that it stinks at this time of the year.

Wisłostrada .... Marymont, it was a disaster with traffic, though it seemed more logical on the map.

I'm in the northern suburbs of Warsaw and have those 2 choices in the morning. Wisłostrada can be slow at that time, however the Marymont route is usually worse and less predictable.

It might be a good bet to drive further down Wisłostrada and enter the city centre via ul. Ludna, rather than Solidarności.

Wisłostrada

Thanks jon. Used that as an escape route on the return leg. Just back in Tri-City. Went on the S7 and across the Wisla by Modlin at 7 in the morning. It was a beautiful day too - haven't been in Warsaw for donkeys, and Jana Pawla, my point of call at the Hi Fi service, now has the Arcadia at its' top. I seem to remember something else in communist days:):) Just a Rondo with flowers I think.....

Oh - and I learnt quick. Drive like mad and aggressively and it seems you fit right in!
