A four days vacation, where to go in Poland?

Well, I've lived in Poland all my life and I disagree.

I absolutely disagree as well.

I don't know about calm and skinheads (I didn't see any during my stay there) but I did see many (by Polish standards, of course ;)) people of different races over there.

Which is strange, because for me, Wroclaw is quite a hostile city. I guess the marketing as Wroclaw as "the new Prague" did that.

It's only my opinion, so don't kill me - but in my opinion, there are a lot of dodgy areas very close to the centre with some very dislikeable people living there.

I don't know what it is, but I don't like the vibe of Wroclaw :/

lol I won't kill you, it's just I have family there and was curious since I've spent in Wrocław only a few days. They live in a rather peaceful neighbourhood so my impression of the city as a whole was positive in that respect ;)

Oh, don't get me wrong, there are some lovely peaceful areas there. And I am very, very, very fond of the huge open spaces near Hala Stulecia :)

I think you get that in most cities where much of the centre and environs are old apartment blocks - even that nice area behind the station in Katowice has its moments.

For the OP, Gdansk is is a nice city to visit (much better than Krakow), and Warsaw is very good for a few days' sightseeing.

You do, it's a particularly horrible feature of Poland. But whereas in Warsaw and Poznan, I've never felt that bad atmosphere, there is a distinct bad feeling in Wroclaw.

But it's only my impression :)

I think I know what you mean. Then again I used to live on ul. Czartoria a decade or so ago and never felt happy about some of the dodgy characters around that area then. I notice it's getting a bit gentrified nowadays. Wroclaw is a step or two away from that.
