Dear PF-users,

My friend asked me if I know any good hostel in Krakow. I don't. Buy maybe someone else here knows? :)

Quote:

"The ideal would be:
Clean and not too expensive.
Rather central, or good and fast communications to the centre.
Not too loud (like 25 m from a big night club or railway)
"

Thanks a lot in advance!

Enjoy the summer :)

Best hostels are Frutti Tutti and Flamengo Pink, have been voted the best in the world by Hostelworld.com a few time. Plus it's where many of my female friends work, hence a good place for me to crash if I had too much to drink and couldnt be bothered walking home :)

110% recommend them :)

For something a little less central but within 5 mins walk from market square, try out goodbye lenin, or Tom and Dave's, also great places.

Hostel Orange is quite nice, can't fault it :) Free internet too, and friendly receptionists. It's in a good location, and the nice part is that it's near an English bookshop that's apparently quite well known.

Does your friend happen to be a teacher?

My brother and his wife have had positive experiences, staying at teachers' hostels in Poland.

Delta hotel is a good standard. Their website is easy to find. Prices 130zł for 1 person room, 160 for two. I can recommend cheaper but first check this one...

Elephant on the Moon is nice. You have to take the tram a few stops to the metro, as its in a residential area. Its very clean, quiet, and nice, not a party hostel.

Maybe it's nice, but not cheaper in the peak season (56 euro) and quite far.

Try Hostel Yellow. Rates from as low as 29 zloty! It's very central too and the staff are very friendly!

Thanks for all suggestions so far. I forward them to him.

He is not going there to party. So it would be best if it was not a "typical" (stag-)party hostel.

When you don't go there to party, it's nice to sleep a little at night.

Problem is Szwed, It's summer and it's Krakow. There are no typical stag hostels as most hostels if not them all will allow stags. Plus most stags will not know which hostel to book so will go to what ever's the cheapest. Best bet is for your friend to book a room in hostel and hope that no stags are there, either that or book a hotel :/
