The first flight for lot polish from EWR Newark to Warsaw in there newly aquired DREAMLINER is on feb 3rd,2013 and I just got my tiks for economy elite for 1300bucks,and they gave me 500 Bucks towards next travel being the first customer to book it and say promotion for this price on dreamliner will be till June2013(but without 500 bucks voucher for next travel) I think its a deal?
Dreamliner for Lot Polish
Sure, go forth! We all would like to be in your place!
:)
:)
They're very nice, but the new European Airbus is much much better.
if they're like all the other Airbuses, the leg room leaves a lot to be desired
This one is much posher. Though I think the airline decides the legroom rather than the manufacturer.
This one is much posher.
then I can't wait to check it out :)
They have showers and a spa upstairs! Even in steerage it's quite nice.
say what?
Really, showers. My company's a very heavy user on Emirates and usually get upgrades from business to first on certain routes. My boss went Dubai to Europe on one of the new planes and had a shower on the way.
Unfortunately they usually send me back to Warsaw via Istanbul or Amman where the planes look like the Wright Brothers built them.

That sounds cool! Shame my next flights courtesy of Ryan air:(
The Airbus A380 has a lot more space per passenger than most aircraft, due to the fact that its maximum weight is limited. So in theory airlines can give you more space. The top deck is very quiet and passengers love it.
The 787 Nightmareliner is a good aircraft but I won't be flying it for years. Its development has been a disaster and there are many new technologies to fail. LOT are getting Rolls Royce engines. The other engine is GE and its just been discovered to have serious design flaw that makes engines fail based on time (not engine hours)
airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5563160
They will fix it, but they should have grounded the 787 - uneconomical to do so..
The 787 is supposed to be nicer than older aircraft for long haul, however many passengers don't seem to even notice the difference
Interesting, I thought they were only flying short haul in Europe. I wasn't even aware that the 787 has got its ETOPS for flying over water, it was blocked for a while after the in flight fire.
You will be amongst the first people in the world crossing the Atlantic in this new all electric, plastic aircraft.
Good luck.

That is exceeding impressive, even by your uber-high standards.
There's just one thing, how are you going to take a flight which does not exist? Only you could buy tickets for a flight which will not exist! And in a flight class which also does not exist. You are such good value here!
Just in case anybody is interested, as of the end of this month LOT will operate no flights out of EWR Newark and will move all NY/NJ operations to JFK New York. The three classes on the 787 will be Economy Class, Premium Club and Elite Club.
will move all NY/NJ operations to JFK New York.
You are right this time I just checked the flights from JFK terminal 1 My bad.....I usually fly from ewr so was confusdes that it was from ewr,but thanks or i would be in impression that its from ewr.Again FYI the flight no is lot polish airlines 27ahx7.Also its called Premium econony.
Thx for upgrading me cuz I didnt even had a look at my e ticket.
The A380 is a much larger two floor jumbo jet with twice the seating capacity of a Boeing 787, with the A380 also being more expensive. The fuel efficiency is almost identical (based on the aircraft's weight and number of passengers) The Boeing has 4 times as many deliveries. jon357 Poland doesn't need huge planes with 500 seats, LOT is a small airline, it's even canceling it's flights to Newark this year.
avsb_comparison_0610.jpg
It's worth getting the very best. It would also be nice if they bought European rather than from another continent.

I'm wondering if I'm the first PF member to have survived the journey! Returned from Warsaw in their packed 787 earlier today, and I have to admit that it was a pleasant experience, though I still prefer A330s to be honest. I tried not to think about the electrical problems while I was up there :)
I wasn't overly impressed with the seats, though - adequate leg room in window seats (no under-seat IFE box, unlike with Qatar's A330s), but the head rest felt really cheap. I would say that BA have more comfortable seats on their European short-haul aircraft - I think that more than five hours in LOT's 787 could be a little on the uncomfortable side, which isn't really good news for their long-haul passengers.

787 grounded until further notice. LOT first flight to US is stranded there, return will be by 767.
Until electrical problems that are causing battery fires are identified and fixed, the 787 won't fly and the ETOPS that allows transatlantic travel will probabaly be lost.
This could be a long time.

its the end of LOT really, the 787 was sopoused to be the saviour of the airline, now with it grounded for weeks and LOT paying a million a month to lease each airplane LOT will not survice. The EU will not approve another bailout.

Boeing have to pay compensation to the airlines. If. LOT were not such a kiss arse to the usa they would have sued for damages
over the three year delay like Air India did. Then they could have bought a330 or b777 instead and never have needed the bailout.
787 lease is no where near a million, maybe 200k

i've been told its a million zloty . Boeing are not liable if there is a grounding, LOT would have got compensation for delays but there is an upper limit to the amount which prob was reached after a year.
They are grounded. Very, very good.
Poland as usual is doing everything to kowtow to the yanks.

Boeing talking crap again.
They certified the aircraft as fit for purpose, it quite obviously isn't. The FAA does not really certify the aircraft, they simply take Boeing's word for it and Boeing apparently don't know what they are doing.
They will have to pay the airlines compensation.
The 787 will probably be grounded for six months.

The FAA and media come out looking foolish or institutionally corrupt as the 787 issues force regulatory responses, because there are other major question marks over this airliner and its certification as safe.
