We are now thinking of some camping in our travels along Baltic Coast . On a previous post it seems that some think it might be a bit too cold. Any thoughts?

when? it should be just fine in the summer although you better have a good tent that can withstand a lot of rain.

thank you - we're thinking early September - is that still warm enough? And our tent is good and waterproof!

Depends on how tough you are.....some people would consider it too cold....

get yourself an ex British army sleeping bag....they even do arctic ones....you will be warm as toast...

I have camped out in a tent in september in Poland and was warm enough , but i did have good equipment and we were not near the coast....

As PLK says...it can rain a bit at that time of year....

Yes. Weather can be the main problem. Weather at Baltic sea is unexpectable even in the Summer. I was there last week (August) and it was raining. Temperature of water won't be more than 18-19C. It's cold. It was cold for me too, but I was first time at Baltic (I hope not last) and I swam a bit. Especially that my country has no sea.

Most of the factors are unpredictable... But usually in September nights tend to be cold, it can be under 10 degrees Celsius at night, but it is nothing that can't be dealt with good sleeping bag (don't get go crazy with that though, it is not Siberia here... pis*ing at night can be quite a chalenge though, I mean "go out from a tent and pis* or wait till morning that is the question" ;-) ).

As for the weather it is all about luck, it can be cold and raining all the time or it can be beautifull quite warm end of the summer time with this feeling of autumn coming. But more likely mix of the two.

One thing to remember, the day becoming to feel a little short in September, the sunsets are about 7 pm then it is also becoming a little after season time. So, less people but also less things to do in the evening, some good book can be helpful.

No, right know is about 12 to 15 at night. But in the begining of September below 10 at night can happen.

Merged thread:
Camping in Gdansk

Hello all,
I would like to spent some time in the beaches for 1-2days this end of April.
Any suggestion for the best place to camp in Gdansk?

A good sleeping bag solves the problem. Come on.
