I plan to work in Warsaw in a couple of months. The office address is on ul. Domaniewska 39A, Mokotow business district and I plan to take public transportation to work.
Can you please share your opinion on the most convenient & safe neighborhood in relation to my work location, such as which area do you recommend for a place to stay with my spouse?
Since I may have to work late, I need to also ensure public transportation to the apartment will be available until around 9 pm.
We are searching for a small (50-60 sqm) furnished apartment with budget max PLN 2000. Do you think it's a good idea to rent a room for 1 month before find the best place to stay?
Pololand is generally a safe country, and in Warsaw public transport runs until around midnight, unless you live on outskirts of Warsaw. Better to live close to metro station to avoid traffic. You may have problem finding decent 60 meter flat for 2000 though.

The problem is not the area - it is your budget, its a bit on the low side. ul. Domaniewska has two sections it is close by Gal Mok. With your budget I would say find a place in Kabaty/Ursynow you would get to the office by taking the metro to Al Wilanowska then hoping on a bus for a couple of stops to reach ul. Domaniewska 39A.
Not during the rush hour, and to Domaniewska the roads are blocked solid right from Kleszczowa.
Having said that, that street is walking distance to Wlochy Station, so not bad by train - and only aboout 15/20 mins walk to al. Jerozolimskie Station for WKD and SKM.
Nowolazurowa will certainly help with the very first part of the journey - though the really long jams on £opuszczańska and Marynarska may prove more of a problem for travellers by bus and car.

The same traffic jam from any direction to Domaniewska in rush hours. The most convenient would be to rent appatment in any of that blocks near Galeria Mokotow, but believe me - it's not the best neighbourhood.

Agreed. Though its slowly getting better around there. Another possibility is somewhere round Rakowiecka station - just one stop to Marynarska. Pulawska (the bit by Stary Mokotow) is good, because there's the tram, but not so cheap.
I had a girlfriend living there with her parents, but it was 15 years ago - maybe in another 10 years the neighbourhood is OK. Location somewhere around Rakowiecka station is a good choice.
Merged: Warsaw - which neighbourhood similar to Wola?
Hi,
I lived in Warsaw last year - in Wola - and in two weeks I will come back in order to graduate.
I would like to live in a neighbourhood that is similar to Wola. Indeed, the more central the better, but I also like peacefulness. I found two apartments that are the exact same. The only thing is: one is in Saska Kępa, the other one is next to the Presidential Palace.
I have never been to Saska Kępa before, this is why I am unsure whether it would be a good idea to live there - the flat is close to Rondo Waszyngtona. And living on Krakowskie Przedmieście is ideal because it is in the center, but perhaps it is too crowded/noisy/touristic?
If you know Saska Kępa, or have any point of view on the situation, it would be welcome as I am still in doubt and need to sign the papers tomorrow... :)
Hi! I was reading your posts and I definitely can recommend agency who specialized in rentin the apartments and houses in Warsaw for people from abroad.
You can check varsovia property. All these guys speaks English and have many great options to choose.
My girlfriend lives in Saska Kępa and is happy about the neighbourhood. The area is decently central and peaceful with the exception of the blocks facing on Al. Stanów Zjednoczonych. Unfortunately untill the bridge on Wisła is back open you might have problems getting to the center during peak hours by car due to the traffic jams on the other bridges.
PippoZ is pretty well right. I'd add though that the bridge will re-open very soon (most of the repair work is finished and they're now doing the safety tests) and in any case, in the 'proper' bit of Saska Kępa that Piglet mentions, you wouldn't use that bridge anyway and the trams are unaffected.
Saska Kępa is a nicer place to live than near the Presidential Palace where there are sometimes demonstrations/parades etc that clog the streets. Handier for the shops too, nice & leafy and the restaurants/bars are very good. It is considered a very desirable place to live for good reasons.
Personally, I prefer my neighborhood (Stara Ochota), 10 mn away from Centrum. Saska is a mixture of communist housing with old (poor) folks and fancy houses inhabited by French expats (French gymnazjum and lyceum there). Easier too to move around from Stara Ochota.
Well, I don't want too many people in my area so good if people go elsewhere ;).
Yes! That bit round Uniwersytecka is especially beautiful. The whole area is handy for trams etc as well. Not always easy to find flats there because so many people want to live in the area.
About Saska Kępa, if you go further up Al. Waszyngtona and turn up any of the side streets north after the park finishes (like ul. Grenadierów) there are some nice streets. Still not cheap, but cheaper and also nice. Not so much if you turn south after the allotments finish, but that part of town is still convenient.
Hello freinds , so I wanted to ask if wola is safe for living or what because I'm not polish even my wife she doesn't know too much about wola ,plus my wife sometimes she finish works late about 22h so I have to pick her from Station and I don't want problems merci :)
