Reckless Polish Man starts wildfire in Montenegro

@Atch

I think there is a fine line between writing about "Polish related matters" and then tagging every single Pole who's been involved in some crime and appears on Google.

Personally, I cannot see the use of posting about a Polish man who started a fire in Montenegro BUT if we choose to accept this then I am also free to post articles where other Poles have been involved in other parts of the world. The problem Atch is that when I start doing that then you seem to take some kind of issue with it.

Can I ask you a question ? Do you not think that certain members on here seem to spend most of their time posting negative stories about Poles under the guise that it's newsworthy and relevant because a Pole was involved ?

Poles are not always the perpetrators-sometimes they are the victims and sometimes (hard for some of you to believe) they even do good things for other people (shock horror)

The fact that it was a Pole that threatened Montenegro's Adriatic Coast, one of the precious few sources of real revenue in the country?

It's certainly newsworthy, and it was all over the Polish news.

Not in the least. I just thought 'Oh God here we go again with the old Muslim thing'. Any sensible person knows that there is a serious issue with illegal immigrants in Europe and that we ignore it at our peril but it's already discussed ad nausea on this forum. But there's no chance of having any really intelligent, meaningful debate about it here. It's just not that kind of forum.

Do you not think that certain members on here

Oh yes they do of course but it's quite obvious that most of the time they do it to annoy some of the 'Polish Patriot' brigade here and occasionally the posts are about newsworthy items.

sometimes (hard for some of you to believe) they even do good things for other people (shock horror)

Well go on then, start a thread about acts of kindness, philanthropy and charity by random Polish people.

Wow-love the dramatic use of language.

You make it sound like he was a one-man army. I am glad that Montenegro survived this dangerous Polish thread :)

Clearly you have absolutely no idea how dangerous wildfires are on the Adriatic Coast. Have you even seen the fires from Montenegro in July, or from Dalmatia in August?

It was a serious fire that they struggled to contain, and which threatened the coast. Trying to dismiss it shows how ignorant you are, to be honest.

the fire was quite small compared to Portugal (or Greece or Italy)

But the row over it is quite big on PF.

If the tourist had known this, he'd never have started this fire, believe me.

I wonder if there's something yet to emerge. Hard to believe that someone from PL would think that starting a fire in a forest in summer would be a good way to signal his location.

He's become a local celebrity on PF.

I suspect he'll get more publicity if there's a trial.

venom.

I doubt he used venom. Probably matches or a lighter.

but venom is more flammable.

Maybe he tried to light a fart and it all went horribly wrong ?

This is entirely possible, if a little less probable.

I expect it will all come out in court.
