Is it true that the Polish has signed to take on the Euro in 2015?

That the Polish has signed to take on the Euro in 2015. My wife told me this but I can not find it anywhere.

Can someone provide more upto date information?

No, Poland has agreed to eventually accept Euro without actually agreeing on any specific date.

President or Prime Minister said we will/would be ready to adopt euro in 2015.

Now it's us dragging our feet to the original agreement. We caught a huge break because we are in position of power now given our expanding economy. At this point Euro needs us more than we need the Euro. It would be idiotic to switch currencies in the next 5 years (atleast)

Thanks all for your reply, I think that this is going to a major mistake if Poland adopts the Euro. Not only will it lose its competitive manufacturing advantage the price of everything will go through the roof. The next few years are going to see devaluation of the major currencies Euro, USD, GBP JY etc as the nation's with large debt try inflate it away. Poland would do very well not to take it on. Has Tusk scheduled a refendum of the people?

no, the guy doesn't like referendums, adopting euro will require a change in the constitution anyway

Wrong, Poland refused to adopt it , for fear it would drag the country into recession. Very good decision at the time. It was helped of course by the fact that the 3 criteria were not met.

Poland didn't qualify, still doesn't. Its academic, the Euro is not in a good enough state for Poland's entry. Once it is, Poland can/will proceed.

It won't make any difference. Plenty of countries have the Euro and haven't 'perished'.
