Even before I click on the link to the story (which read Priest checks fingerprints for mass attendance) I knew it was a story from Poland:

:)

WARSAW (Reuters) - A Polish priest has installed an electronic reader in his church for schoolchildren to leave their fingerprints in order to monitor their attendance at mass, the Gazeta Wyborcza daily said on Friday.

The pupils will mark their fingerprints every time they go to church over three years and if they attend 200 masses they will be freed from the obligation of having to pass an exam prior to their confirmation, the paper said.

The pupils in the southern town of Gryfow Slaski told the daily they liked the idea and also the priest, Grzegorz Sowa, who invented it.

"This is comfortable. We don't have to stand in a line to get the priest's signature (confirming our presence at the mass) in our confirmation notebooks," said one pupil, who gave her name as Karolina.

Poland is perhaps the most devoutly Roman Catholic country in Europe today and churches are regularly packed on Sundays.

Too bad they didn't have that back when I was confirmed (of course, I would have probably shown up for mass, then ditched as soon as I got there...I may have been raised Catholic, but I never said I was a good Catholic...lol). The only reason children are fingerprinted here is in the case of a child going missing....sad, but true.

Now, why can't the government figure this out.

all churches should have one connected with the same system in heaven. when youre dead and about to enter the heavens gates you just put the finger on the reader and got the message - please, enter or access denied. Gods work would be much easier with that stuff. He could focus on sending plagues and keeping an eye on vvankers

I agree with you 100%. What's next microchips, inserted into each church member, similar to tracking animals?

This is part of a global drive to get as many records on people as they can. What drivel! Hey, priest, leave those kids alone ;)

poor kids they don't even think that once their fingerprint is owned by somebody else, in a database, they dont have any freedom anymore, they are enslaved for life to the system

It's probably best not to give Catholic priests any more ideas about inserting things into children.

Jeez .... what next ?

Maybe we'll see lie detectors in the confessional ! I can just see it now, whereby you are given a list of sins to which you have to answer yes or no etc and if the detector registers a lie then you're given an electric shock !

young people bater to go in Christian church then in mosque. Not to mention that Catholic Church in Poland always defended and Polish national interets, what i greately respect. Approach of that particular priest is maybe a little bit exterme but, Poland is under pressure of islamization and germanization (to say- Eurabization) and i am even ready to understand stance of that priest. What i want to say- man is somewhat nervous but, has a mission. i unederstand his message

So, just give us here picture of that priest. I would put it in my car. I am St. Sava`s Serbian Orthodox but what does it matter. That`ll be my Christian and Slavic solidarity to that brave Catholic Polish priest

It seems they value quantity over quality.

Polish Priest checks fingerprints for mass attendance

I think this is a positive development for those destined for Heaven, and it is a proof evolution works. God evolved and they are installing a computer system run by Heaven's Gate 1.0 Operating System. St. Peter is being trained on the print scanners and once everything is in place the time spent in the Purgatory will be greatly reduced. It is obvious that the long wait times were due solely to the bureaucratic and administrative backlogs.

Only sinners will not like what's happening, as their time in the Purgatory will be reduced and they will be sent to Hell by the All Loving God much quicker.
