Do Poles take Kaczynski seriously!?

Polish politics have always been a game of shame and guilt. One party tries to shame the other,but the real shame is that they were elected by the people for people...

I feel bad for him that he lost his brother, he manipulated the polish government and governed Poland in the background through Lech - a wishy-washy man. A huge blow to his ego now because nobody cares about him. He, himself and PiS are to weak to govern again. A total loss of power. It's gotta drive him coo coo as he appears to be.

Apropos, dropping all the guys in fancy ivory "dresses" and pink berets behind him when he speaks maybe would help.

Well, his brother was actually semi sane. The problem is, when you're shooting for a socially conservative electorate, it doesn't help that you've never been identified with a significant other of the opposite sex. It would raise certain questions in peoples minds were it not for the rhetoric. Lech had a wife and children, he fit the mold perfectly. Jaroslaw however...

So, are we are still in a world that a single man or a woman can not succeed because they do not have a significant other? I don't think you really meant that. If it was so, all 'mohair berets' would not support PiS and JK - but they do! What gives then? They seem to forgive JK for not having a wife and kids and living with a cat instead... They still follow him! What is the 'magic' of JK?

..so it happened before, in Austria, hmmm. I don't know about it. I guess there is more than political agenda and marital status connection. Sometimes it does not matter even in a conservative environment. Good.

I think that the major difference is that the Polish electorate doesn't consist of a populace which is 90% under the poverty line with a population which feels that it has been wronged by the international community not 15 years ago. I think if you had that situation, you'd probable see an even more extreme version of Kaczynski...possibly even with a funny mustache..

Yeah, I hear of him as the new Hitler? Is that what you mean? Being conservative is fine, it is about preserving the past values, the legacy of your parents and maybe even grandparents.

I don't think JK goes that far but I'm no expert after watching BBC news or polish 'wiadomosci' over the Internet couple of times a month. However, after hearing and reading and what I know - he's gotta go. There is a limit.

No, first he has to get hammered really badly at this year's council elections, then next year's parliamentary elections. And finally they should move against him, and reveal that he is gay.

I don't think that is completely fair, but I do think he uses populist rhetoric to an extreme. Hopefully he'll kill it off himself and allow someone else to take over. Old Mr. Tusk has apparently deep sixed himself, so no worries there :)

I don't think he is gay, he is just to short to find a woman dwarf and too weird. LK's wife was a few years older and well..not too attractive, but i understand she was a wonderful woman.

Anyway, we should not judge people by their looks alone but whatever comes out of their mouth and JK's mouth sucks.

She was a good woman, a very good woman. Regardless of if you agreed with her husbands politics (which, honestly, he never came across as the mouthpiece of sauron...), she was top notch.

And unlike her husband, she could speak other foreign languages.

They either want to marry him or mother him.

Charisma and a fantastic ability to make things simple for his core electorate. His messages tend to be rather simple - Russia bad, Poland good, raise pensions, look after jobs, gays bad, Church good. Given the people that he appeals to (badly educated, nationalistic, a bit racist) - they lap it up.

At least they educated. And atleast they proud and can celebrate national holidays. Anyway, which census company you work for ?

But they're not. I wouldn't call someone who didn't finish high school "educated".


Proud? The same people are the ones falsely claiming "renta", the ones who claim unemployment benefits while working on the side, they dodge taxes - yeah, so proud!


I assure you that plenty of non-Kaczynski supporters celebrate national holidays too.

47% voted for him during the last elections, do you really need to ask ?

I was reviewing the results today, and some statistics were very interesting. For example, in Poznan -

Kaczynski lost overwhelmingly with prisoners.
Kaczynski won overwhelmingly with people in social help centres and hospitals.

I live in Poland
Personaly i think Kaczynski is insane and neither Me or My friends does't take him serious :)

He does a good impression does he not...?

Kaczynski does a good impresion on obtused old laydies and other narrow-minded part of community... :) he has got quite low index of support among educated and inteligent society

Some do and some don't. I'd say that many 'healthy' Poles consider him to be deluded.

Many do, to the extent the erection of a monument for Lech Kaczyński has been recently announced in Toruń.
