Poland versus Greece in economy

Hey Roz and Maf, have you always been so bloody serious on to think that my post was about anything else than making a little provocation towards that brave young Greek man? It is hard to believe, Roz, that a woman who chops her own wood would ever come up with such a suggestion...

ah..i remember i read about 3 weeks ago that Polands GDP per capita surpassed Greeks,its the first western European country we took over in GDP per capita

Portugal is next..experts believe Poland will surpass Portugal in few years.
Polands economy is much stronger than Greece.its not dragged down by debts .Poland is 6-th fastest growing economy in the world.

And Turkey is preparing to militarily invade and occupy a bunch of Greek islands anyway so.... yahoo! we's a gonna get a war! or Ottomans part 2 (not sure which would be first)

That's not a nice thing to say, how would I know if you are Polish or not, there is no country of origin on posters profiles, I assumed you were not Polish because of some of the things you post here, I was making an opinion based on that , maybe I was wrong, sorry for any pain caused.

After he worried about Polish intolerance he totally lost his sh!t about the name of the country Macedonia and also said catholics were false and evil... (a thousand or so years ago, but still...)

Nobody has the right to insult Macedonia by telling them what name they shouldn't choose for their country.

Just some of your posts made me assume you were not sorry for my bad.

I just formed that opinion, I don't want to start digging up posts from the archives. It was just my opinion I might have been wrong to make the assumption.

I wish they could just agree on Republic of Northern Macedonia and get it over and done with.

Macedonians calling their country Macedonia is not insulting Greece - Poland could say the same about the name of the modern country of Lithuania (not related to Polish Lithuania ) but most Poles are too sane to be upset it.

FYROM also claims our northern Macedonia province. :)

We made it clear that any attempt of this is a cause for war and we mean it.

A few crazy nationalists might, the government doesn't.

The Republic of Northern Macedonia has a fraction of Greece's GDP, population and diplomatic and military cloud. The idea that they could threaten Greece is laughable.

It's ridiculous to declare a war just over a country's name. How patriotic to sacrifice human lives for a name ...

The shooting became a rallying cry for the Greeks, who soon after invaded Bulgaria and occupied several villages

They should put that at the borders of all the countires "Welcome to the Balkans, We Have CRAZY in the Water!!!!!"

It is not just the name.

Macedonia is Greek. We have a province called Macedonia. The history of Macedonia is Greek.

In FYROM live slavic people. By calling their country Macedonia, they make claims.

Claims against our history.

Claims for our territory.

This issue is important for Greece and as long FYROM doesnt change their name, we will continue to block them.

They want join NATO. We block it.
They want join EU. We block it.

Its up to Skopje to solve this. Our position is clear.

Get over yourselves already the more Greeks talk about this issue the crazier and crazier they look to the saner people in the world.

Does Poland mind a different country calling itself Lithuania? Does China mind a country calling itself Mongolia?

With all of Greece's problems, this is a very petty issue to stake your international credibility upon....

Oh, come on. There have been migrations of peoples in Europe for centuries. Read history. So what?
The borders of Poland have changed numerous times within 'just' a millenium. There have been Germanic, Scottish, Dutch, Ruthenian (and more) settlers and migrants here. Even Greeks after WW2.

Or take the British Isles.
You seem really full of prejudice against Slavs and Catholics. I don't know it's such a good idea to visit a Slavic and Catholic country. If you're so hot tempered in real life, too, you may get yourself into trouble and start a fight and then complain about Polish prejudice against Greeks.

Poles generally like Greeks, though.

I can't really say the topic of Macedonia has been discussed much in the Polish media. I doubt too many Poles are aware of the conflict and since both countries are pretty far, not too many will be concerned.

When most Poles think of Greece, they usually think of ancient Greece, Zorba and holidays. The financial crisis was discussed here, too. So he's more likely to be asked about that.

But I'm really concerned he may get himself into trouble here with his offensive remarks. He's way too co.cky. He might be applauded for that among his friends with similar views, but abroad that may make him get into trouble. Hopefully, most will just find him arrogant.

No, this is dead serious for us. That we hold this since even before i´m born shows this even more. Since 1991 Greece holds this embargo up.

When tsipras said he may find a solution, over one million greeks demonstrated in Athens against any concession towards FYROM.

I´m not arrogant. Im a friendly and positive guy. I love my country though and defend it against people who want do bad to us.

You've just given the perfect reason why there should have been no bailout. Let the Greeks starve and drown in debt as long as they continue to bully a small country that simply wants peace and quiet.

Macedonia is a lovely little country - poor, but people are very friendly and helpful.

There does seem to be some karma going on, Greece tries to bully a smaller weaker country and gets bullied bigger and stronger countries while whining incessantly about it.

I'm sure the issue was first inflamed by some Greek politician or crook (but I repeat myself) to distract the public from massive theft and graft. The fact that it's still successful tends to erode my sympathy for the plight of Greeks. Starving and crying? Eat the cursed, foul word Macedonia, it's a wonder any self-respecting people would want it. The real Macedonians in Skopje do more credit than the crybaby debt non-paying Greeks
