Presidential elections and debates 2015 Poland

Tusk touted the "inexpensive state" (tanie państwo) but bureaucracy mushroomed under PO leadership more than ever before, even more so than when the ex-commies (SLD) were in power. Empty promises have long been a Platformer speciality.

Is that why you vote PiS?

Empty promises have long been a Platformer speciality.

they fool people into believing that they are liberals...its obvious ,in democracy one who wants to success need to appeal to wide population..poles are liberal nation, had enough of socialism and waste majority wants economic liberty.but PO is least liberal party in Poland.

i swear SLD economic policies were more liberal than those on PO.PO ,they are frauds
i remember when they were bashing PIS for not restructuring state finances ,and first thing they did when come to power was massive increase of national debt.

same with 18% flat tax,Tusk was talking about all time, promising it and claiming its his most important policy.for Years, even since he was leader of KLD he promised flat tax system...all but lies, instead he increased taxation..ect hundreds examples.Hes a fraud and lier

Mmm - no.

PIS are against same sex partners/ stem-cell research/ any form of the woman's right to Pro-Choice/ EU dictates/and many other citizens' rights I don't care to mention

My vote would seriously go - if I had one - to the president who will support a party which:

Cares about a living wage and can build a stable economy.

Everybody hates these zero-hour contract things - they are a nasty exploitation - but in the past people had several jobs - I have maybe 5 different jobs which I juggle - and in two weeks most of us lose two to three days pay because of Corpus Christi - but that's life - adapt and work around it. If you don't like zero-contract and can't make any money - then walk away.

Scrapping ZUS and replacing it by CENTRALISED index linked National insurance. Sack all the ZUS workers in every town. A sick communist era job creation scheme. It's your money being wasted.

Privatise swathes of industry that have not yet been looked at. PKP for a start, management buyout material.

Curb the unions. Transport unions in particular.

Raise NSZZ spending drastically. Close 60 per cent of hospitals - spending raised by increment from 9 per cent GDP to 13 per cent over ten years. Build new ones fit for purpose - not 5 hospitals in every small town. Build FREE day clinics (stop "doctor friendly" policy that patients must be admitted by rote to hospital beds for tests)

FREE health care to 18 years olds and help for creches -THAT is one big reason why people don't have more than one kid. The outdated idea that "the grandparents will bring up the child' is abdicating the states' responsibility to invest in it's young people.

New doctors engineers to work 4 years for the state after graduation, salary index linked to UK salaries - repayment of study fees for breaking this agreement.

Scrapping the armed forces expansion - only the bare minimum to meet NATO requirements. NO border towers or any such nonsense with the Ukraine. In fact the opposite. Raising quotas to take Ukrainian families to settle here to make a contribution to slowing the demographic time bomb.

Close the coal mines or sell them off so NO state involvement.

Flatten half of "historical Silesia" and it's "infrastructure" and remodel - as country park if there is no use. It was countryside before the Industrial Revolution.........

Raise the Tax threshold to 2000 ZL

Amnesty for all pre-1989 financial crime. Not murder. No expensive court cases for nothing with OUR tax money.

Tentatively -taxes 19 per cent/ 30 per cent at 10,000 month plus/ 40 at 20,000. Keep VAT. Tax fast cars. Ban speeding drivers outright. Raise the alchohol level for drivers to German levels. Raise penalties yet further for non-conforming.

Remove police powers (innocent until proven guilty as in US/UK)

Two social security systems for Poland A and B - with relocation expenses for those who realise that life in the small Eastern town is not challenging for them. As a consequence, build 2/3 new towns in western Poland Telford style.

Rescind the ridiculous abortion laws and tell the church to stay in barracks. Ally to the EU, and not to America. PIS famously want to be part of the United States of America, when they wouldn't (and didn't) **** on her (Poland) if she was on fire. See the drunken Sikorski tapes. He is bang on in this respect.

Last and not least, dig up the dead general and feed his body to the rats. Here, and only here, I do agree with PIS :)

i was talking about market and economic liberalism not social liberalism..PIS sure is conservative, and socialist .PO are social liberals but as for their economic ideas, fok knows what they are.

they seem to follow only PR criteria,,do whatever to please public..they are not driven by any ideologies but by strong urge to keep ruleing by any means..its not politycal party with ideas but some club, with people united and bound by only one thing-get to power.

look, they are people from extreme left (like even palikot before,or feminists)to extreme right (gowin,or zchn people)within PO...its BS
its fokin bunch of people with no ideas,no desires..only personal ambitions..
take Tusk example..he traded with Cameron polish people entitelments to social welfere in the UK for support of his candidature of EU council..
meaningless for Polands interests..

komorowski got only around 10% in Chicago

Because PIS are clueless and they think that the US have Polands' interests at heart? :)
gregy741  5 | 1226
24 May 2015 /  #307
not sure i understand..
dunno ,why Komorowski was so utterly destroyed there in USA.i mean,in some of those voting places,he received like 5% votes only.in Poland,he is expected to have 40% or more.

this is huge difference..we see,how different people vote, when they are not subjected to massive pro PO propaganda and brainwashing by government controlled media.as its the case of Polands population..

Know of any poltiican that doesn't change his mind? Komorowski said only frustrated individuals wanted a referendum. After Duda defeated him in the first round, he changed his song and suddenly was all for it and had the Senate clear the field. We all know there are those amongst us that tremble at the prospect of a clean-up campaign, Piłsduski called it Sanacja, to sweep away the crooks, shysters and party hacks. ("Partyjnicy" - he called them.)

It is so wrong that Yanks can vote in Polish elections.
It's just plain wrong that people who don't live here can vote. Yet people living here for years cannot.

Totally messed up.

The real question is - what Poles and Poland want? Does anybody knows what is Poland`s mission? To follow or to lead or anything?
Polonius3  980 | 12275
24 May 2015 /  #313
Poland's mission -- as declared by its authorities of various political persuasion and most grass-roots Poles -- is to strengthen Poland's NATO alliance and within it to cultivate a special relationship with the USA. Also to promote other former East Bloc countries's ties with the EU (Eastern Partnership, etc.) and eventually also NATO. This concerns mainly Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia.

Most immigrants come to Poland just to earn some bucks and send it to their families in their homeland.

Why they should have the right to vote?

...cultivate a special relationship with the USA

Does Poland want to turn herself into another Israel, or why is that?

Of course. I have a mother, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters back in the UK to support. And a pack of hounds. Anyway, there would be no money to spare - if Duda were to win, it's off to the pub for three days to mourn for the old Poland, gone to the dogs.
eh?
24 May 2015 /  #317
Is that the exit poll or result with Duda the winner on 53% ?

You been brainwashed methinks Doug old boy.
Dougpol1  29 | 2497
24 May 2015 /  #318
So - Duda has evidently won.

Every country gets the leader they deserve. Poland again is the laughing stock. Congratulations to all those who voted for him and go and do one.

that Duda won? fine

Will someone please, tell me what would now Duda do about Serbia and Hungary? Can we expect kind of Poland`s support? Did Duda mentioned us during his campaign?
gregy741  5 | 1226

Crow
ehhh...Polands president has very limited power..it can influence foreign policies..but its mostly only representing country
as for Serbia?i dunno what he can do,tho Duda is from PIS ,THEY were allied with Orban in EU parliament, and had very good relations with Orban.

until recently PIS got angry at Hungary for Hungarys "pro russian" stance
eh?
24 May 2015 /  #321
What I don't understand, apart from how some people think PiS are socialists, is why the term 'President Elect' is being used and the speeches if it's so far just an IPSOS exit poll? Are they so accurate in PL? In the UK gen election, the most recent exit polls by various pollsters were not correct. So??!
gregy741  5 | 1226
24 May 2015 /  #322
WSI was nail to Komorowskis coffin...he thought he can defraud and corrupt Poland without consequences ...his past came back to him, like boomerang

is why the term 'President Elect' is being used and the speeches if it's so far just an IPSOS exit poll? Are they so accurate in PL?

yea,strange..tho difference is quite large-6%

he though he can defraud and corrupt Poland without consequences ...hes past came back to him, like boomerang

Poles will live to regret tonight. Especially if they swallow the PIS ******** and elect a socialist government in the autumn.
eh?
24 May 2015 /  #324
yea,strange..tho difference is quite large-6%

But still seems odd that a private survey company poll is enough to trigger victory speeches on. The actual real results have to be counted (takes all night) back in the UK before anybody makes victory speeches because in the UK surveys n polls have fairly often been wildly wrong.

DUDA WON!

POLAND STRONG!

I Envy Poland so Much. Why my country (Brazil) doesnt have people smart as the Poles.

Duda's win has enraptured the heart of every patriotic Pole. This paves the way for a PiS victory in the parliamentary elections. At the very worst, if PO were to somehow win, there will be the assurance that libtertinism-promoting legislation or excessively restrictive EU interference will be vetoed. But hopes run high for a full PiS victory and the resumption of the interrupted 4th Republic project.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth on here over the results is a real treat! And no surprise it is being expressed by the Self-Important Leftwing Contigent of the Carpetbagger Brigade - you know, the same ones who on any given day would say they are all for free elections until of course the vote doesn't swing to the left.

But Poland is a true democracy and the will of the Polish people has been expressed at the ballot box.

The best man won!

What are you talking about? The left wing party won. The party that is interventionist in the economy. But i guess you are too young to understand that.
