Obama has canceled...

Air Force One cannot fly Westward? This is how US views Poland.

Troop deployment to the ME and Afghanistan will not be hindered.

Nobody is buried in the Wawel castle. Peasant or not

Laid to rest then...my bad as the Amercians say! But he hardly fits the criteria..It would seem anyone can claim a prestigious place in history in one of Poland greatest historic crypts.

Hm, you may also be aware that the Airports in Southern Europe are open as usual.

Wrong, no flights going out of any airports in the UK for the next couple days, could be Tuesday when they open or do you know better than I do?

Where did you get that from?

In German occupied Warsaw (I think it was winter 1943) there was a shortage of coal,
and it was only sold to Germans, so there was a card on the coal magazine saying:
"Fur Polen, gibt keine Kohlen". Next day someone put the card under it saying "Wir Polen...".

18th of April announced as a day of national mourning in Montenegro

Dr. Igor Lukšić - Potpredsjednik Vlade Crne Gore

Moje iskreno sauèešće porodicama nastradalih i bratskom poljskom narodu.

The list of shame is extended by:

Austria - I guess no cars or trains in Austria - not even for the government... poor Austria
Belgia - well, it's a long way from Belgium to Poland - you have to cross so many countries:
Germany and... no... wait a minute...
Croatia - no Ustasha? good
Cyprus - when Turkey invades you again don't come crying to us
Denmark - that's understandable - the distance from Poland justifies them
Estonia - no eSStonia? good
France - well, well, well... no official mourning, no visit at the funeral... conclusions
need to be drawn, the point of view on France and relations adjusted
Greece - oh, well...
Lichtenstein - oh, well
Luxemburg- oh, well
Norway - well, if Denmark, Sweden and Finland ain't coming...
Turkey - no Turkish delegation to Lechistan? dissapointment...
Italy - oh, well

We have the aeroports closed as well, even most of the flights from Bucharest are cancelled. Our president had gone by car travelling trough Hungaria and Slovakia. I am surprissed that Germany had cancelled as it is much closer.

It's a matter of respect and common sense to come at funerals today. Our president took a helicopter from Bucharest to Oradea (Nord - West of Romania) and then he continued the journey by car to Krakow (Bucharest - Krakow = 1170 km). For instance, from Berlin to Krakow are 593 km. From Vienna (Austria) are about 472 km. So, the volcanic ash is not an excuse for many EU politicians.

Of course the volcanic ash is only a sorry excuse - do they really take us for idiots?
Take a look at the list of delegations who cancelled and those who are coming - says
it all really - e.g. Denmark, Austria or France can't come because of the volcanic ash
(I guess no choppers, trains or cars in those countries) and yet many other non-European
delegations are coming (Morocco really touched Polish hearts with their feat).

By the way - let me express gratitude and respect to your president who, by helicopter
and car, is coming to Krakow to take part in the funeral of our late president.
Nothing's forgotten, Romanians - nothing's forgotten!

Very blue skies over Wroclaw, yet again.

Low altitude flights are allowed... so I'm told.

Those that live in nearby countries have no excuse.

But then again why should we expect every nation to send a representative ?

But then again why should we expect every nation to send a representative ?

If your friend died, would you go to the funeral?

We don't expect every nation to attend - only the friends of Poland.

Ain't it strange... no flights, but lots of overhead shots from helicopters following the cortege.

Low level flights obviously.

But then again why should we expect every nation to send a representative ?

Because we are insecure narcissists who crave attention over even the most mundane, trivial events. Everybody dies. We must get over it and stop making demands upon others for such an inconsequential act.

Low level flights obviously.

Of course.

Look at what Moroccan delegation did - flew all the way from Morocco, in a small jet,
below the volcanic ash cloud. They could do it, but Denmark, Sweden, Norway and
Finland delegations couldn't take a ferry to Poland for example.

Very interesting thing we found out yesterday and today - there are no helicopters,
cars or trains in such European countries like France, Belgium, Croatia, Macedonia,
Greece, Estonia, Austria and others - very, very interesting.

This Sunday is a mourning day here in Romania. Besides, the TV channels (news) broadcast live from Krakow

Now, don't forget that between our countries is a long relationship. We have also, a Polish community in the North - Est of Romania. This community has a representative in the Romanian Parliament (like all the minorities from Romania. Only Hungarians have 7% representation in the Parliament).

I'm afraid that Poland will have more friends in the Central and Eastern Europe (except Russia) that in EU.
I let know. The liturgy has began.

I paid my respects as well on Monday. I went at the Polish Embassy here in Bucharest, lit a candlle and put some flowers. I wanted to upload a picture here to show you how Romanians have paid their respects, in front of the Embassy, the entire wall and the street in front of it was covered in flowers and candles.

Yesterday, at the Polish language class I am attending, our teachers was dressed in black and we talked about the accident and how it was perceived here as well.

I am aware of the fact that the history of Polish-Romanian relations is a history
of friendship and mutual respect (before WW2 our relations were very decent).

I'm afraid that Poland will have more friends in the Central and Eastern Europe (except Russia) that in EU.
I let know. The liturgy has began.

We will watch closely and we will remember who respects Poland and cares about
relations with Poland and who uses some puny excuse and doesn't really give a toss
about our country. You can say a lot of things about Poles, but certainly not that
we forget easily. We will remember.

Thank you for your kind words and actions, Darun!

Or?.. what do you mean, Valentin?

It was ment from the political point of view, not from the two peoples approach at personal level. But even that will change, the cooperation between the two countries is becoming stronger by day and the wounds seem to seal.

Darun, and
Sasha
In geopolitical terms, Russia can not have friends and it is not able to get friends. It is a great power and it needs to have or to preserve a protective belt in the proximity of the Western boarders (Central and a part of Eastern Europe. This is about it's vision of 200 years. It is a part of its political culture also, which was not changed in the last 20 years. If Russia becomes a medium power, it will get friends.
