I think this has had a positive effect in several ways. They send billions of Euro back to Poland, I remember it made up a % of Poland's GDP. The unemployment rate went down in Poland because about 2 million people emigrated. Wages had to increase in Poland to keep the people from leaving. Work and experience that emigrants possibly would not have got if they'd have stayed. And then just the general freedom to travel and experience other countries.
