Economist map of Europe

In Britain's place should come Poland, which has suffered quite enough in its location between Russia and Germany and deserves a chance to enjoy the bracing winds of the North Atlantic and the security of sea water between it and any potential invaders.

Yeah, I like the name Vulgaria. I'm Vulgarian so get used to it or else... ;)

Of course, being a Bordello resident sounds kind of nice too... LOL

Instead of moving Poland, I'd rather replace our governing 'elites' with people with common sense. German-Polish relations are getting more and more normal, there is a hope for the same with Russia.

Let's not kid ourselves. I'd rather Putin be replaced with someone a little more stable and reasonable.

I protest! With this map Poland:

1. Gets the sh*itty weather - no more hot summers or real winters for us,
only the bloody rain all year long.

2. Loses the opportunity of getting quickly and quite cheaply good used cars,
farming machinery and other goods from Germany (the cost of transport raises).

3. Loses forever the chance to get our eastern provinces back (and we will never
again reach from the Baltic to the Black Sea).

4. Moves further away from our Hungarian brothers and our dreams of common border
will never fulfill; currently there is only one little obstacle in our way in the form of
Upper Hungary being separated from the Fatherland under the name of Slovakia.

besides...

Kraków moves away from Vienna, Budapest and Prague which doesn't really make
sense - the good old central European feeling of Kraków would be completely lost
in the Atlantic.

Poland-Germany game would no longer be a local derby match, but just one of many
games played in Europe.

I could go on like that. There will be no moving! We stay where we are and where we
always were whether some people like it or not!

;-)

If we really had to move, I'd go either to Oceania zone - the strongest teams
that we would have to worry about in the WC qualifiers would be Australia
and New Zealand and we could beat them (with a bit of luck) or somewhere
in central or western Africa (it would be nice to instantly become the richest country
in the region, having the best roads etc. :-)).

Ok, but I say 'NO' to making Poland the Schrottplatz of Europe.

We need to be more opportunist in contacts with Russia. They need us as a market for their oil and gas. In politics there's no place for sentiments.

Agree ,but how can we do that?

By moving our ar$es and voting.

Ok, but I say 'NO' to making Poland the Schrottplatz of Europe.

Sure, but even more important than cars is the opportunity for our farmers to get
cheaply, good quality, used farming machinery from Germany. I don't know about
other regions of Poland but in Pomerania, Ziemia Lubuska and Lower Silesia
most farmers work with used German farming machinery. They wouldn't be able
to afford new machines and plowing a field with a horse is a little bit outdated
nowadays :-)

If we moved to Britain's place, hundreds of thousands of Poles wouldn't be able to travel
quickly and easily to work in Germany and support their families in Poland (and let's not
forget that in 2011 Germany will open its work market for Poles).

Poland gets more benefits from our neighbourhood with Germany than we sometimes realise.

Well, I meant that I've no objections to buy an used car (I own such vehicle myself) or any other machine but there's definitely too weak control of what is brought down from Germany. Many of our garages are corrupted and give good certificates to cars whose only destination should be a scrapyard.

And I agree that due to poor economic activity in Opolskie, many people with dual citizenship work in Germany thus virtually decreasing unemployment there.

We only have 60 million years to wait for this to happen :)

But actually, I would suggest that NL move on this map too. Throughout history we've been invaded by our neighbours at least as much as PL has. So that would be fair as well. Perhaps a place beside Italy would be nice, knowing Italy's militairy capacities ;)
