Will EURO 2012 be a proud moment for Poland and its people or set back Poland 20 years?

Well we will see how many fans come to Krakow, obviously none will be coming for the matches. But its a 2 hour flight from the UK.

Warsaw is a 7 hour drive to Berlin, you can drive from Holland in 12 hours. But you must be right. No tourists visit Poland, never will.

Stop comparing Poland to other European countries the imfrastructure is the pits! I've been to Germany, France, Austria and so on the believe me Poland has nothing to compare to them in terms of tourism.

Kraków, Wrocław and Gdansk have beautifully restored old towns so even if people don't venture outside those cities there's more for them to see and do than the likes of Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool did back in 1996.'

so you knowledge of north english tourism as you say....Is this a fact according to you or a just rubbish attributed to a genuine study into the habits of tens of millions of tourists? the UK gets about 30 millions visitors a year and you'd be aive to thing that 100% of them stay in the south east...york, lincoln, newcastle, edinburgh, liverpool are all massive tourist hotspots Poland get a total of about 15million and has how many land neighbours?? fail

Really...Spain was never a hole. (epic fail!!!) and obviously you spent alot of time up north in 1996! I've lived in Poland for three years and probably seen everything worth seeing..really nothing special (zakopane (boring), salt mines!!, upside down house, rebuilt original german-built town squares and castles (covered in grafitti), foka's in hel....it's really is riveting) In fact the only thing that tourists come to see is the Holocaust in Poland....I've taken about 70 flights in the last 3 years to and from Poland and only ever met one tourist couple...says it all. By the way. I've struggled to scratch the surface of UK tourist hot spots.

Hi Peter, try to book a 99pln flight.... the seats for those dates would have been 'blocked off' for the lower fares and so would never have been sold at 99pln!! epic fail!!! These people will be either taking a risk of the antiquated Polish railway (2 head on collisions in how many months?) or the unfinished Motorways (thanks to trusting the Chinese contracters, over inflated road material costs and the insular polish labour market)

Spain was never a hole... it was always comparable to parts of france, italy, the uk, ireland. Maybe they had a low wage economy but it was never a hole!

In the UK media there is apparently only one story - racism in Poland. Very few English will be coming, they usually buy many of the tickets for matches, so expect empty stadiums.

So the verdict is in, Poland is a nation of racist savages. Set back 20 years.

Two people have contacted me so far today to ask if Poland really is as bad as its claimed. Poland is like the KKK days of Alabama, there is going to be lynching in the streets.

It's great Poland has been given this opportunity to host such a popular worldwide event. It will give Poland a chancce to be noticed while noticing others. A lot of great things could come out of it!

Brazil have the world cup, to make sure their image was presented right they sent in the army - in tanks - to pacify the Favela's. What did Poland and Ukranie do about this?

It's always a laugh to read the dispatches coming from all these kumbaya expats and their long-suffering plight in Poland.

It makes you wonder why they ever gave up their own perfectly harmonious multicultural Disneylands to settle in Poland which is almost exclusively white (usually like themselves). Why on earth do they stay in Poland if they regard it as such a racist society?

We often hear the hindsight arguments that Nazi soldiers should have resisted and deserted. So if Poland is as bad as they claim then it only makes sense for these do-gooder samaritans (supposedly without a bigoted bone in their bodies) to up sticks and return to their utopias. Or better yet they should actually drop their hypocrisy and live the life they expect of others. I hear there are great opportunities throughout the third world. Cost of living is dirt cheap too. All you need is sunscreen and a smile.

And please, no selfish arguments that you have no choice because your work requires you to be in Poland or your wife/husband is from there. Make the sacrifice and leave and set the example elsewhere.

Funny as in "funny". Well I think if they would say - Ukrainian instead of Ukraine and Poland they would, there is foul play in action.

Poland could put away for a time being those hundred or hundred and one idiots, and Ukraine could put all those thousands of chauvinists into gulag.

What should be done really - they should track down those forces who instigated that anti- Polish campaign and teach them the lesson. ( they will never do it)

Idiots like Sol Campbell talking **** about Poland and Ukraine claiming it's dangerous to come there because there might be racist attacks and the BBC showing stupid one sided documentaries on it might set Poland back more, then actual events.

Most beatings (and killings) in Polish football are white on white. Like last years killing of a Cracovia fan killed by 20 masked Wisla supporters who butchered him with machetes.

Lol,BBC should update their maps,since when Austria is next to Poland,also Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore(at 2:28). Somebody needs 101 in European geography.Very biased and unprofessional journalism since all the matches were between local clubs,why didn't they show any international match?

Probably because:
A. You read the English language wiki page
B. The UK has much more and much better football, and
C. The English and Scottish Associations have actually addressed the problem

For those of you who partake in Polish television, I have a question: Has there been a lot of media build-up to Euro 2012?
I'm not in any of the tournament cities so I can't say for certain but I have noticed a lack of hulabaloo surrounding the biggest sporting event to be held in this country.

I am sure EURO will go fine in Poland. I am an optimist.

I am worried only about one thing. Do you mean what I know?

The Poland Euros should be full of fun and excitement with people enjoying themselves...
