Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy.

It's exactly these constant insults - "traitors", "Gestapo" and so on - that are helping put so many people on the streets

They aren't doing themselves any favours, are they?

Basically it's shock and fear. They didn't expect that ordinary people would stand up against them and they just can't handle that.

Yes, it seems that Kaczyński completely failed to acknowledge that people were capable of organising without the help of political parties.

Anyway, another demonstration abroad to add to the list :

Toyko - Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Japan, 2-14-5 Mita, Meguro-ku, Toyko 153-0062 at 15:00 local time.

Basically it's shock and fear.

In your fairy world perhaps! I see that those in charge of PiS are not bothered at all, it would be their voters that are slowly bulling up anger and range against those people who cannot understand that they have lost an election and are flaming.

These demonstrations are growing in number

What's the target ? Half of Marian Kowalski support ?

Hard to say how you "see" that, however their fear and shock is palpable.

If they weren't bothered, the Dear Leader Chairman Kaczyński wouldn't have abused and insulted the 82% of adult Poles that didn't vote for them.

82% of adult Poles that didn't vote for them.

Why do you hate democracy so much ?

I think most of us understand democracy just fine, and we're defending it against the attacks of a party that only got 18% of the vote.

They won democratic elections. A significant share not voting is a normal thing in democracies.

They won democratic elections.

But they don't have a mandate to abuse the Constitution, ignore the law and insult the vast majority of Poles.

Yawn. Another "expat" foreigner without voting rights generating "support of Polish people for protesters". Lame.

Possibly his biggest mistake.

Thanks Harry.

Sorry, I'd add it to the same post, but the editing time has run out.

Suggesting: get rid of that?

pro-bankster

insult the vast majority of Poles.

You meant insult the vast majority of Polish bankster-serving toadies!

BTW isn't it better to insult outsiders meddling in Polish affairs and their paid Polish stooges than insulting the democratically elected government of Poland formed by the country's only truly pro-Polish political camp.

Might it perhaps be better to insult nobody and to stick to the topic of this thread? Could you try doing that?

Why do you have to result to insulting at all?
Why not be civil? Why are the right wing so aggressive?

I don't think some of them appreciate how many of us have taken citizenship...

They sure don't Jon

I'm not too educated on the differences between the parties and am not a usual supporter of any party in America or Poland, I'd just like to point out that in the US for example, the 'mandate' usually comes from only 25-30% of the voting population, since turnout is right around 50%, and that includes all the dead people, illegal immigrants, and people who voted 5-10x because they don't have to show ID, not to mention the fact that it's mostly done on hackable electronic machines now. Not sure there's a huge difference between that and 18%. Any party that is against Eurozone entry and described as anti-bankster is not off to a terrible start in my book.

That said, I reject the notion that people who don't vote 'deserve' any government. In the US, we have a choice between Thug Party A and Thug Party B. Not exactly a democracy, and protesting the charade by sitting it out may ultimately be the best course of action.

Why not be civil? Why are the right wing so aggressive?

It's remarkable that the huge march in Warsaw passed off very very peacefully without problems. Meanwhile, the march on the 10th of December saw bitter PiS voters attack a journalist.

Anyway, Radom is also apparently trying to organise something. News when I get it...

Koszalin - Rynek Staromiejski.

Why are the right wing so aggressive?

They have had a belly full of "Political Correctness" that has/is destroying society and are demanding that
common sense return as that has proven itself to work the best.

/is destroying society

One would argue that the way that PiS have placed many ex-PZPR men and women into high positions is very much the sign of destroying society.

These people are valued for their blind obedience, not their knowledge.

Why are the right wing so aggressive?

Because they know they are in the wrong and they know that they are badly out-numbered, as the demonstrations across Poland will show this weekend. And, of course, because they are deeply and fundamentally unpleasant creatures, as their posts here show every day.

we welcome everyone regardless of their background,

"WE"........you sound like Hairy speaking for the whole country of Poland when you both are not even citizen's.
All these demonstrations do is allow people to let off some steam yet nothing will change.
The majority have already spoken when they elected the PiS.
