These are essentially demonstrations against the abuse of democracy by the government - not only the crisis over the Constitutional Tribunal and the breaking of the Constitution by the President
So this is an anti-democracy protest by those who oppose the democratically elected President and government of Poland.
The Constitution Of The Republic Of Poland Article 4
1. Supreme power in the Republic of Poland shall be vested in the Nation.
2. The Nation shall exercise such power directly or through their representatives.
Article 101. The system of government of the Republic of Poland shall be based on the separation of and balance between the legislative, executive and judicial powers.
There is nothing in the constitution which elevates the judiciary above the other democratically elected branches of government. It is very much to the contrary. Good luck getting the votes of 2/3's of the legislature to remove Duda from the presidency. It is not happening, so you can protest all you want.
The crucial thing is that there are non-partisan protests organised by a non-partisan group.
HA HA HA HA HA! ROTFLMAO!
Likewise, I'll certainly be at the one in Poznań along with Polish and non-Polish friends alike. This is our country.
It might be theirs, but it isn't yours.
At last there is not doubt that their are enemies of the nation and Polish state and any freedom loving individual
Exactly.
Some of these people are not Polish citizens.
No Sh1te Sherlock. Many of these people are not Polish citizens,
exempli gratia, foreign English teachers who can't make a living at home.
The only assault on democracy are by elements that are unable to recognize result of the democratic election.
Exactly. They are protesting to support the anti-democratic, elitist doctrine of judicial supremacy, and foreign influence in Poland. These people are not democrats who can't accept that they lost an election in a nation where many of them can't even vote. Elections have consequences, or there is no democracy in a republican form of government.
I really hope it is, I'm particularly looking forward to that one
You can always stop by the British and South African consulates with your fellow protesters.
I might have a wander down to Jaro's too.
Jaro's is the happening place to protest for the rainbow warriors.
