I'm not pro-PiS, don't know enough about them, but the anti-PiS people at the higher levels are the very forces who did Gladio and all the other CIA shenanigans.
Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy.
That looks like...about... 300 people tops, I'd say :)
In most of these places they couldn't gather more than few hundred people, that in cities with a few hundred thousand people population. All together there were less people across the country "protesting" than at a single football match. It's clear now that hopes to turn it into Maidan 2 and overthrow democratically elected government have failed.
I just wonder when the real dirty tricks will start
We can be sure that the issue is exercising some minds within PiS.
Kosher Gazette
What?
old man Schechter's
Who?
Total ranting nonsense (conspiracy theories now about Operation Gladio!) from the online PiS trolls while the Polish pro-democracy movement gains support.
the online PiS trolls while the Polish pro-democracy movement gains support.
If you admit me as a member of PiS and if it is a compliment then I am compelled to compliment you back - but I am not sure about it. Unfortunately, I do not not belong to any political organization, let alone have voted in any elections; though democracy seems to me more sympathetic a political system than any other one.
As far as Gazeta Wybocza is concerned. I am a reader of it since may 1989, that is from it's first edition. And it is really a good newspaper, if it only presents well balanced opinions of honest men.
And do not forget I am 'Libratius' - I read everything.
As far as Gazeta Wybocza is concerned.
I agree - it's a good newspaper.
There really isn't any connection between the pro-democracy protestors and the Italian Operation Gladio or any of the other European Stay Behind operations. They had no connection at all to Poland.
demonstrators will defend democracy
If they truly defended democracy, everybody would support them. Fact is that under the guise of defending democracy the KOD gang are defending the perks, privileges and kickbacks of the losing pro-bankster Platform which the Polish voter has pushed away from the feed through. The bulk of grass-roots marchers are acting in good faith thinking they're supporting democracy without realising they are being used by clever shysters with a hidden agenda.
You may be right but who knows? That's what I am really afraid of.
More i analyze situation, more i becoming fascinated by the events. Now the center is trying to do a color-revolution/maidan on the patriotic government? Well considering the opposition was in power during maidan.... but, still against their own country... such a snakes.. lost malformed souls, worse then traitors. God protect Poland. What a battle Duda fights.
and for what. for their masters question Poland`s loyalty? Merkel and Oland must be terrified of Czech and Hungarian examples, of their presidents and how Poland too becoming more independent and not swimming along ... central Europe refuse to follow dictate anymore, perhaps. And this started after Duda came back from China where Poland was admitted in the club of great global centers.
By the God, it is about Intermarium. They are attempting to kill it before its even born. To bring eternal slavery upon Poles.

Polonophobe at the KOD "pro-democratic" demonstartion.
So a famous Polonophobe, professor "Poles killed more Jews than Germans" Gross was participating in the demonstration of so called "democracy defense committee" trying to overthrow democratically elected authorities :))))))

It is a new development that clearly shows what is going on in Poland. Who is who that is.
True colors of so called defenders of their own privileges.
Geez he is like in your face what a snitch!

At least he finally admitted who he is, the worst kind of scum :))))
If someone thought that Tomasz Lis can't get any dumber then see the video below, the ranting (876 likes and 6612 dislikes) also nicely demonstrates how people of his kind are commonly hated in Poland.
No words !!! :)))
Association of Polish Journalists awarded Lis with a honorable title of hyena of the year.

Mr Jerzy Urban may or may not be a shrewd deceiver or a cunning liar who defended the regime he was a member of.
There are still people who look at that regime not only as defending the communism but also as a bulwark against what came after 'liberal' reforms... reforms which made their lives so miserable.
And do not mistake the people whom you do not like with the cause the majority of the demonstrators represent.
Urban
Urban shrewdly made his bad name in PRL; but made his fortune on a contraceptives gizmo and the porno smut-sheet "Nie" in III RP. He lives in a mansion in Konstancin with all the amenities and bodyguards. He crawled out of his wheelchair at the sight fo Kiszczak at Jaruzel's funeral and hugged him tenderly. The two helpd snuff out Popiełuszko's life. He is also probably the ugleist piece of #£&+#X$?! that ever walked God's good earth!
And all this is the part of a modern style performance since he is very much on the cutting edge of his time - that's after all what makes him shrewd and cunning.

You seem hell-bent on repeating this like some sort of mantra, even when the photographic and video evidence shows you to be lying through your teeth.
Keep going, Comical Greg.

It was reported that a prosecutor was investigating him slandering the Polish nation. It would be a good time to charge him now and let the author of the magic barn theory prove his case.

What makes him a slanderer?

Anyway, didn't get a chance to post this - so thank you to everyone that attended yesterday. Numbers are growing nicely - and I'm still stunned by the pictures from Kraków. It's clear that people are angry, and the demonstrations are widely reported to have featured a large cross-section of society, which is excellent.
We got a decent turnout in Kielce despite it being organised with 36 hours notice - but next time, we need to be more organised and get demonstrations organised earlier. Still, it's a learning process. Looks like I might organise one of the next demonstrations, too.
On a side note, the fear of PiS supporters is becoming more and more obvious. The dirty attacks are coming fast and furious, and the political narrative in Poland now is dominated by PiS vs KOD. PiS is widely observed in the international media to have massively screwed up, and yet they're showing no sign of actually complying with the law. I expect many, many more demonstrations and for them to grow in number.

Would this apply to one's original citizenship by birth, or only through additional citizenships gotten through naturalization?
Only citizenships chosen by naturalizattion. No one chooses the citizenship they were given at birth, but if people do want to add one by choice, they have no expectation to keep the first. Dual nationals can be denied a security clearance if there are concerns about their loyalty. I know one person who couldn't get a security clearance until his wife was naturalized and renounced her previous citizenship.
You do realise that if a strike occured in non-PiS local administrations, the country would be finished within weeks?
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Ordinary working people don't support PO. That is why they were voted out of office.
I just noticed that Vienna also came out in support of KOD today - Brawo!
Just like old times, eh? The Germans and the Austrians want to destabilize the democratically elected Polish government, and subversives in the country are working to help them.

But people choose to keep citizenship they acquire at birth. Poland should introduce a law very similar to the Japanese citizenship law. Do let me know when the demonstration is support of such a law: I'll certainly attend that, if it isn't at the same time as any of demonstrations in support of democracy in Poland.

Quite irrelevant, given that the vast majority of us have no need to hold any sort of security clearance. My interests are in education and IT, neither of which requires a security clearance or will ever require one.
Ordinary working people don't support PO.
Obviously your knowledge about the Polish electoral system is missing along with everything else. Poland has a system of territorial self government, which is responsible for a wide range of tasks from tax collection to administration of education. PO control 8 provinces, and with it, control a significant amount of tax revenue as the PiS provinces are poorer and rely on fiscal transfers from the wealthier provinces.
The Germans and the Austrians want to destabilize the democratically elected Polish government, and subversives in the country are working to help them.
Sorry, but they were organised by Poles, just like the demonstrations in the UK, USA, Canada, Japan and elsewhere.

Anytime you want Harry, you can protest in front of the South African Embassy in Warsaw. They have strict citizenship rules. Citizenship is lost when a second citizenship is acquired. They are very wise indeed.

Anyway, to sum up the last 48 hours :
1) Demonstrations have been very successful, despite them being organised at the last minute. My own feeling is that we need to be much more organised - we could've easily got a bigger number in places such as Kielce and Zielona Góra had they been announced earlier. However, the sheer success of Poznań, Warsaw, Gdansk, Wrocław, Katowice and Kraków shows that the message is getting through. Next time, we need to get Rzeszów, Opole and other places onboard. The belief is there, so we can do it.
2) The attacks from right wingers are increasing. It's obvious that they regard KOD as a huge threat - if they didn't, they would be ignoring KOD. Dirty tricks are being played left/right/centre, and we need to be increasingly on our guard. This thread shows perfectly the games played - taking the thread off-topic, attacking the people attending the march and downright lies about the numbers in an attempt to discredit KOD.
3) More and more people are joining and showing interest. There's a long, long way to go, but monumentum is on our side.
4) PiS are attempting to equate our demonstrations with support for corruption. Fortunately, Poles aren't so stupid, and they can see that PiS have been appointing ex-PZPR members left/right/centre along with filling endless jobs with PiS supporters. Every attempt to smear KOD will put an extra person on the streets.
Until next time.

downright lies about the numbers
Police said Saturday's Warsaw rally attracted 8 - 10 thousand. Last week it was 45,000 - 50,000. Are the police lying? Or maybe many people are getting fed up with all the street commotion. They rant and chant themselves hoarse but it doesn't amount to a hill of means. The dogs will bark but the caravan moves on.

Police said Saturday's Warsaw rally attracted 8 - 10 thousand. Last week it was 45,000 - 50,000.
Well, the police are under the control of the Ministry of the Interior, which in turn is controlled by PiS. It's not a good situation that we don't have any independent numbers - as much as I don't believe the police numbers, it's understandable that you wouldn't believe the numbers given by the Warsaw city administration. So - maybe it's best to not mention any numbers at all and instead rely on photos and video to tell the real story.
Or maybe many people are getting fed up with all the street commotion.
Quite the opposite - the crowds are visibly swelling in provincial cities.
We'll see where it goes now. PiS seem to have finally realised that the confrontational approach of Kaczyński isn't working, so Szydło is obviously trying to repair the damage done by him and Macierewicz. But why they just can't respect the decision of the TK is beyond me... it would be *much* harder for KOD if the law was respected, even if PiS didn't agree with it.
