Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy.

As I'd like to provide a place where English speakers can find out about demonstrations in Poland, here are the demonstrations planned for the coming weekend.

All of these demonstrations are planned on Saturday 12th December between 12:00-14:00.

On the 13th of December - Gdańsk and the whole Tri-City and the entire West - also between 12:00-14:00.

I urge all foreigners that care about this country to attend these protests.

I urge all Poles who object to foreign interference in Poland's national political decisions to photograph and videograph the foreigners protesting the first post-communist Polish president to have the support of majorities in both houses of the Sejm. You might consider sending them to the new intelligence chief so he might determine if any of these people pose a threat to public order or national security in light of recent Russian tactics in Ukraine to destabilize that nation. (Russian special services troops infiltrated Ukraine in Crimea and the Eastern separatist region and pretended to be political protesters.)

Since this thread is about protests, remember there is a new sheriff in town. It's a new day!

In one sentence, what the demonstrations are about, what do they expect to achieve?

It appears that foreigners are protesting the results of free and fair Polish national election, and they wish to discredit the President of Poland and the Sejm.

Dear foreigners, do not listen to this ill-informed hypocrite.

Undue foreign influence has proved damaging to Poland throughout its history. The problem is that under the PO regime they changed the citizenship laws and started handing out citizenship without requiring those applying to renounce other citizenships. (PO needed to import more supporters into Poland.) Now PO is out of power and the foreigners are protesting their loss of privilege, and expected changes.

In Poland there is a right to protest. Americans who propose McCarthyite surveilance show their true undemocratic colours. Most protesters will be Poles exercising their right to protest. Nocy, should Poles living in the UK leave if they do not like the government?

It is protesting the democratically elected President and Sejm which is undemocratic. Foreigners who cannot vote in Polish national elections protesting its democratic government is provocative, even if legal. Their is no right not to be photographed at a political protest. Anyone who is sufficiently unhappy living in a foreign country should leave and go home. The same can be said of those holding dual citizenships. FWIW, it was G. W. Bush who was big on domestic surveillance in the U.S. not anyone named McCarthy.

The number of "protesters" will be likely like 300. 1/3 of them "expats", 1/3 people living on foreign financed NGOs and the rest PO politicians themselves.

JEH was the tranny. Senator Eugene McCarthy led the opposition to the Vietnam war, and challenged the president of his own party who executed it, forcing him out of office. The McCarthyites were a short-lived anti-Catholic and anti-French-Canadian political group in Canada in the late 19th century. McCarthyism refers to accusing fellow citizens of being communists or subversives without evidence. Demonstration against Poland organized by traitors.

Although the majority of rank and file PO supporters tend to believe the party's slogans about democracy, freedom and constitutionality, the Platform is a typical sponsored party with a hidden agenda. They are sponsored by Western big-money interests and the party's agenda is to lobby for whatever serves their masters' interests.

In actuality, the average West European has little interest in Poland's internal rows. Why then are the Western media are making such a big fuss about alleged threats to Polish democracy and the prospect of dictatorial rule? It is because such terms as "repolonisation" of banks and media and the prospect of foreign banks and retail concerns paying their fare share of taxes sets off alarm bells in the West's capitalist circles. Germany's media barons who control most of Poland's newspapers/magazine market are especially concerned. All this also puts pressure on chief lobbyist PO for failing to get re-elected and prompts the Platform to demonstrate they are doing everything possible (State Tribunal threats, media attacks, marches, protests, petitions) to destabilise the ruling camp. The average PO supporter sincerely believes his party is fighting for democracy and only the Platformer leadership, political scientists and intelligent observers (including all or most PF-ers) know what the score is.

One should add that the PO function like a well-oiled machine, are very image conscious and spout extremely very smooth, slick and convincing propaganda. By comparison, PiS tend to be rough round the edges, lack finesse and stubbornly pursue at times unrealistic goals. But at least they are sincere and have no hidden sponsors or agendas. In a word, they are on no-one's leash.

I'll certainly be there for that one.


It might appear that from the west coast of the USA, but here in Poland it is crystal clear that there are a lot of people who are not happy with the way that the government which won the votes of 18% of Polish adults is behaving. Some of these people are not Polish citizens.


There is no need to discredit Duda, he is more than capable of doing that all by himself (for example with his defrauding of the Polish taxpayer and his illegal refusal to swear in judges). As for the Sejm, the ruling crowd there show themselves more and more by the day to be a bunch of clowns.

These are essentially demonstrations against the abuse of democracy by the government - not only the crisis over the Constitutional Tribunal and the breaking of the Constitution by the President, but also other many other things - such as the latest ridiculous situation over trying to amend the rules in the Sejm to effectively silence the opposition.

The crucial thing is that there are non-partisan protests organised by a non-partisan group.


Likewise, I'll certainly be at the one in Poznań along with Polish and non-Polish friends alike. This is our country.

Hardly surprising that our usually suspects on PF are siding with traitors, post communist and all kind of left nutters against democratically elected government.
They don't care about will of the nation as expressed in the last election they take side of totalitarian dictate rather that respect democratic choice, the have nothing but contempt for elections that put to power somebody else than their ideological brothers.

At last there is not doubt that their are enemies of the nation and Polish state and any freedom loving individual.
