Adam Michnik awarded for integrity, professionalism and high standards. Poland's No. 1 fascist?

I presume.

Are you retired Pol? Haven't you got shopping to do, or something - other than spouting nonsense here?
Or does Tesco deliver it for you, in this so disgusting capitalist world that even the commies were desperate for in the end, but that you want to return to a nationalist backwater myth of "Poland - The bastion of christian values."

playing the TK card and keeping their hate cauldron simmering

We all remember when Gross wrote that 1600 Jews had been burnt alive in a small Jedwabne barn. Excavations and Poland's rabbi Rabbi eventually downsized the figure to no more than 350, but the 1600 version keeps surfacing to this day. There's a Polish saying: Pierwsze słowo do dziennika, drugie słowo do śmietnika (roughly translatable as: the first word makes the news, the second one lands in the dust bin).

That is where propaganda skills come in. The opposition have had 8 years to hone their propaganda skills and are masters of PR. If the PO camp weren't so good at image-building and frosting reality, voters would have seen through their scamming. skimming and other financial irregularities after the first 4-year term. The opposition have numerous writers, journalists and other PR types in their stable and were the first to rush and snitch to foreign institutions, media and governments, thereby internationalizing Poland's internal affairs. PiS tend to be somewhat rough round the edges when it comes to PR - they could stand some training in salesmanship and diplomacy.

You spelled bullsh!t wrong

Indeed, the phone rang and my finger moved a notch ot the left.

How is any of the above ranting about Jews connected to the topic of this thread?

Adam Michnik is a Zionist PC liberal who criticizes Poland but will never utter a single bad word about Israel. For example, in an interview he stated that the Poles were responsible for killing Jews in WW2 because they 'didn't get to know their neighbors.' However, when the reporter compared the situation to that in Gaza - where Israelis are killing Palestinians, Michnik said 'It is nonsense.'

He says wonderful things about Polish people like this: 'We are the illegitimate children, the bastards of communism. It shaped our mentality.'
From wall street journal: wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052748704795604574519463075074956

And in 1968, he was jailed for a year after student protests in Warsaw. and later says:Mr. Michnik himself broke with Lech Walesa in 1990, and to the horror of the political right, befriended Gen. Jaruzelski and other leading communists.

And you silly fools argue he wasn't a commie...

They forgot to mention Stefan Michnik who killed Polish WW2 figures and his mother an avid Stalinist.

This just proves how dumb Michnik is: he considers "Obama and America the best chance the world has today." Don't forget Michnik supported the War in Iraq.

I believe this guy barely even resides in Poland anymore - to my understanding he's spent most of time in the US in the past 20 years..

This is the best Michnik can say why the Poland should've helped the US attack a sovereign country: .' Even though we are not sure of the links, Iraq was one of the countries that did not lower its flags in mourning on 9/11' Pathetic fake Polish Zionist operative supporting nothing more than the Oden Yinon plan... He has no problem criticizing 'his own country' of Poland - but will NEVER utter a word of criticism about Israel or the genocide of Palestinians - he says that topic is 'nonsense.'

This man is no patriot - he is a Zionist Council of Foreign Relations member that undermines Poland's sovereignty, the wishes of Polish society, and Poland's democratically elected government. A person who thinks that Obama and the US is the best chance for the world and support the Iraq was is clearly a fool.

Adam" not Jew

Irishman McLaugherty or Jew Michnik are purely descriptive, These are not pejorative nicks such as Mick or Kike but the standard terms describing someone of those nationalities. Honi soit qui mal y pense!

Jew who did more

He did more to create and entrench the post-roundtable clique than most others thanks to his press medium. Over the past year he did more to harm Poland than most others by being in the forefront of the KOD/PO/Petru snitching brigade and calling for foreign intervention in Poland's internal affaris. That has not harmed the government who continue implementing good changes, but the badmouthing has caused rating agency downgrades and scared off potential investors.

Michnik's paper is losing subscribers and luckily for him Jew Soros came to bail him out. But Michnik can see his influence has waned and the things he stood for are no longer as popular as they once were. Hence his ire and frustration.

You're wrong there: quality reporting is still as popular as ever, as can be seen by the epic fall in the number of people who watch TVP's news program these days; didn't it lose about a quarter of its viewers in the first six months of this year, falling to an all-time low? Poles are lucky that they have an independent media which features people of the internationally recongnised excellent calibre of Mr Michnik.

Mr Michnik

Jew Michnik's rag has lost so many subscribers that his Jewish compatriot Soros had to bail him out with a few juicy millions. That was a stop-gap solution and soon the Agora Corp. will have to grovel again before Soros for another hand-out.

Already in the 1st quarter of 2016 sales of GW dropped by 6.8% but the biggest decline was in paid adverts which plunged nearly 22%.

quality reporting

Except that was never a feature of GW which always reported in a selective (hence the Gazeta Wybiórcza nickname!), biased manner and suppressed news that didnit fit its leftist-laicist profile. It was from GW that Poles learnt that political murderers Jaruzelski and Kiszczak were allegedly "men of honour".

have an independent media

An independent medium (the indefinite article reuqires a singular noun) that is adamantly fighting to preserve the status quo in which all power and privilege belonged to the post-roundtable clique of post-KOR-ites and compliant Solidarity types. All others got marginalised by Kosherdom's Prince Adam.

As opposed to Prince Jarek, King of the Beets*?

*in Polish burak 'beet' is used to describe people, especially in the countryside, who don't have much education or social capital, a little like 'redneck' in parts of the US.

No. If Michnik had wanted to produce a biased paper that suppressed news that didn't fit a narrow profile, he'd have employed the experts in writing such stuff: the former lackeys and loyal servants of the commie regime who spent decades faithfully trotting out the Party line and lobbing softball questions up to commie officials. But Michnik actually refused to employ such people, which is why some of them still write racist rubbish about him.

King of the Beets

Name-calling at all cost? The K twins were city boys from the word go. Lech was a law professor, Jarek has a PhD in law. Hardly rednecks by any measure!

efused to employ such people, which is why some of them still write racist rubbish

That's another of your old canards like govt property at knockdown prices, serving the regime, police background check -- all concocted by a truly sick mind desperate to insult and ridicule but lacking the ammo. But that's not a problem to to a Liar Laureate -- he just makes stuff up as he goes along.

Michnik actually refused to employ

You're right, he was very reluctant to employ goyim. To this day the Agora corporation and his editorial board are overrepresented by a certain ethnicity, and it ain't people of Norwegian, Bolivian, Yemeni or Finnish ancestry!

Jarek has a PhD in law. Hardly rednecks by any measure!

Yes, and after completing his PhD, he volunteered to serve the commie regime by prosecuting dissidents. If he'd been allowed to complete his training he could have been prosecuting Michnik, a fact that goes a long way to explaining some of the hatred shown by the supporters of Chairman Kaczynski towards Michnik. It's a mark of the excellent quality of the character of Michnik that he doesn't hold against Chairman Kaczynski the Chairman's past attempts to serve the commie regime.

That's another of your old canards

Not at all. A quick search of the GW archives shows that the only thing of yours which they have ever published as a single letter to the editor back in the mid '90s. Your hurt feeling that Michnik never turned to you for 'expert analysis' of all things American in GW is a source of considerable amusement to your former colleagues. And your disgusting attacks on Michnik have resulted in even the Polonia press publishing texts calling you out on your "unconcealed right-wing bias" and lack of worthiness as a reporter to even "carry Michnik's pen"!

he volunteered to serve the commie regime by prosecuting dissidents

All we know is that he applied to do his intership at the prosecutor's office most of whose activites centred on criminal offences. That's the1% hairy bollocks truth. The rest is might've, must've, could've, should've and may have insinuations, speculations, unproven hypotheses and downright fabrications -- all par for the course for the forum's Liar Laureate.

BTW why aren't you reproducing some of the incriminating evidence qualifying one for deportation. Taking things out of context is not evifdence, but more hairybollocks! What abotu the "hilarious" biographies. Let's have some quotes.

attacks on Michnik

Shouldn't it be Cat Michnik? He is a man, isn't he?

Michnik that he doesn't hold against Chairman Cat Kaczynski the Chairman's past attempts to serve the commie regime

How could he when he comes form a family of communist cirminals in the sevice of Cat Stalin. His brother Cat Stefan is hiding from justice in Sweden. Papa Cat Michnik served the Red Amy atfer it invaded Ploland on 17 September 1939. Mama She-Cat Michnik wrote school textbooks designed to sovietise the mindsof of Polish schoolchildren. A seedier concoction of anti-Polish subversives nad political criminals would be hard to find. And for their loyal service to an alien invading power they go to live in the lap of PRL luxury in Aleja Stanów Zjednoczonych or one of those reserfved for the PZPR elite. Funny you keep harping on Old Man Cat Kaczyński who must've, could've, might've, may've but never have once mentioned the perks, privileges, fancy digs and yellow-curtain shops available to the most trusted traitors in PRL.

Yes, Po, but back in the day that Chairman Kaczynski volunteered to serve the commie regime 'criminal offences' included the actions taken by the likes of Michnik and Walesa, meaning that Chairman Kaczynski could easily have been the one to prosecute Michnik for his 'crimes'.

Perhaps it would be worth linking to a couple of those articles and letters to give context to the thread.

The problem is that they contain the name of a certain poster (along with that of Michnik) and so linking to them would be posting personal information, which is banned here.

So, you're saying you never sought employment at GW (or with AM in general)? Is that what you're saying?

It should also be mentioned that his mother was not Jewish (which traditionally means he's not) and he does not practice Judaism as far as anyone knows. Why do you keep harping about his supposed Jewishness?

And how is the PiS campaign to rewrite the history of Solidarity to make Lech and Jarek central figures (and minimalizing Wałęsa and Michnik) going? Is the dim nation buying it? Or is it just an article of faith for the nomenklatura?

Some people were so desperate for their words to be published by GW that they were prepared to write for AM for no charge at all.

keep harping about his supposed Jewishness?

A lot of people who hate Michnik do so because they are vile bigots. Others hate him because he reminds them that while he was risking everything to oppose the commie regime, they were trying to work out how best to serve it (for example, while Michnik was being a dissident, Chairman Kaczynski was volunteering to prosecute them). And, of course, the people who really hate Michnik are vile bigots who spent decades collaborating with the commies.

You forgot to mention they got former govt property at "knock-down prices".

not practice Judaism

Not religion but Jewish ethnicity was intended. And he himself has said at various times things like: "Żydokomuna to ja!"

On another occasion he annoucned: "Jak na pewno wiecie, środowiskiem, z którego pochodzę, jest liberalna żydokomuna. To jest żydokomuna w sensie ścisłym, bo moi rodzice wywodzili się ze środowisk żydowskich i byli przed wojną komunistami."

"As you surely know, I come from a community of liberal judaeo-commies. That is judaeo-communism in the strict sense, because my parents were of Jewish ancestry and were communists before the war."

Wyborcza is going tumbling down

Yes, sales of GW are falling, mainly because the 18% regime now order state employees to base their choice of what paper to read based on political reasons rather than which paper is based, i.e. they are no longer allowed to buy Michnik's paper for their offices.
