Merging two threads together is one thing, changing the title is quite different.

Care to give examples of Gazeta Wyborcza doing things such as reporting about invisible attack dogs or telling its readers that the Versailles Treaty mistakenly assigned to Czechoslovakia ethnically Polish territory? Or is Michnik more careful about whom he employs than other sources?

Merged: Michnikowszczyzna exposed by Ziemkiewicz

Michnikitism, the origins, mystique, agenda and general aura surrounding Adam Michnik and his paper, is thoroughly "transparentised" by one of Poland's leading poltical commentaors Rafał Ziemkiewicz. He sums up Adam by saying he was once a revolutionary who, after tasting power, has long since evolved into a reactionary surrounded by a claque of sycophants dutifully assuring him of his political genius. But Michnik is a loser. Polish voters have swept away all the political movements he supported (ROAD, UD, UW, PO). That frustration perhaps explains the unbridled ferocity which he unleashed against PiS when they won the election. His KPP family environment (Adam was the son of willing pro-Soviet subversives) undoubteldy explains his "soft on commies" approach prompting him to make such outrageous assessments as to call Poland's Soviet puppets Jaruzelski and Kiszczak "men of honour". An excellent read which sheds light on many aspects of post-roundtable Poland.

You mean that bloke who says that it's OK to rape teenagers while they are unconscious due to drinking too much? Well, I can see why PISed-up 'VIP' types would want to listen to every word he has to say, but personally I'm not interested in hearing a single word from such scum.

Michnik is a loser.

I seem to remember him winning a public apology from Ziemkiewicz for libeling him.

An excellent read which sheds light on many aspects of post-roundtable Poland.

I wonder why you should consider the words of a foul pervert who has form for lying about Michnik to be an excellent read.

Michnikitism

MICHNIK'S "YOUNG SH*TS"
"'We won't give Poland over to the young sh*ts (gówniarzom in the original),' fumed Adam Michnik ahead of the election. Prof. Janusz Czapliński appealed: 'Let us pray that they emigrate thanks to which we will protect the (existing) order.' But the prayers didn't help and the 'order' guaranteeing privileges to the post-communist establishment collapsed. KOD is an operation designed by the establishment and commanded by people of Michnik's generation to invalidate the victory of the 'young sh*ts'," wrote Piotr Lisiewicz

Lisiewicz has clearly drawn up up the battle lines on either side of the political barricade:
"On one side is the following series of associations: blog, emigration, Facebook, videos, re-enactment groups, hip-hop, history, Inka, fans, ex-servicemen, concert, Independence March, mem, stadium setting, portal, Warsaw Uprising, skyrocket, Capt. Pilecki, paramilitary associations, teledisks, Twitter, dish-washing, Doomed Soldiers.

On the other side one finds: 25 years of freedom, celebrities, Gazeta Wyborcza, thick line, cultural institutions, foreign media correspondents. Lions Club, Roundtable, oligarchs, constructive opposition, Polishness is abnormality, PZPR's reformist wing, law courts, pollsters, television broadcasters, universities, entitlement of the nomenklatura and (Owsiak's) Great Christmas

Charity Orchestra."

Polonius, could you perhaps try quoting from a publication that isn't controlled by PiS?

Funny to see him associate hip hop with PiS, though.

quoting from a publication

But the Kosher Gazette is too oligarcho-establishmentarian. It's only for those who wish to preserve the fossilised post-commie-serving Roundtable order.
Personally I dislike rap crap, but I didn't compose the associations.

Polo are you going to explain why you recommend we read the work of a man who says raping teenage girls is perfectly acceptable? Is your bitterness about Michnik really so intense that you like anybody who speaks ill of him?

associate hip hop with PiS

I think he included that item in the series as exemplifiyng the many younger votes who voted for Kukiz and PiS. Michnik's term "gówniarze" after all is a demeaning

way of referring to young sh*ts, snot-faces or whippersnappers -- all pointing to their young age. Michnik after all reprerssents the one-time anti-establishmentarian rebel turned old, order-defending reactionary. The younger generation eventually rebels against the old.

Wasn't Ziemkiewicz also a huge supporter of Ruch Narodowy, or am I mixing him up with someone else?

huge supporter of Ruch Narodowy

Dunno what he once supproted, but even someone who supprots the anti-Polish Ruch Michnikowy can at times write or say something meaningful, interesting or eye-opening. It should be judged on merit, not prejudice.

I recall some years ago when the Kosher Gazette wrote "Primate Glemp is again criticising the West". It didn't bother saying whether the criticism was justified, just that he was "criticising the West". Apparently to the readership that was another way of saying Glemp was the bad guy, was wrong or misguided.

He excuses raping teenage girls. You really need to know anything more about him?

Adam Michnik (Aaron Szechter) - Adam Michnik was born in Warsaw, Poland, to a family of Jewish communists.

Yep, kind of explains why this person acts like the biggest scumbag.

Aaron Szechter is not his name and never has been his name.

Because he doesn't agree with you politically, he's a scumbag?

Face it, you're just repeating the same old tired Communist anti-semitism.

You mean "he doesn't tell the PiS version of events".

It's hilarious to watch PiS supporters repeat the same old antisemitic garbage that the PZPR started.

I see that you marvel in repeating slander like a gossiping washerwoman.

I seem to remember him winning a public apology from Ziemkiewicz for libeling him.

No, he didn't. So called court stated that RAZ has not right to criticize Michink due to the fact that Michnik is an outstanding citizen and a hero in who stand up to the commie regime. Both things are untrue of course.

Because he doesn't agree with you politically, he's a scumbag?

Nah he is scum back because of his acts and words and because of his political allegation. It very simple really like on this forum I disagree with Barney on almost any topic but I still respect him an his right to hold different views due to his attitude, intellect and class.

On the other hand here is plant of trash with an inflected ego and with nothing to back it up except for their brass foreheads, lack of principles and chutzpah. I wouldn't respect them even if they would pay me not because of their views but because of what they are.

tired Communist anti-semitism.

A what? Did you make it up all by yourself? lol!

Szechter is not his name

It should be. The only time a baby is given its mother's suranme is when it is a bastard and the father is nn (nazwisko nieznane). Adam's father's name was known --Szechter.

...you decide so at the USC.
Polonius3  980 | 12275

you decide

During stalinism when baby Szechter was born out of wedlock ordinary citizens could make few independent decisions and whims were strictly frowned upon. Maybe such a rabid commie and strong nomenklatura type like Helena Michnik got special consideration. Whatever the case, he was born, raised and weaned in a post-KPP setting and that has permeated his entire thinking and Weltanschauung.

Wulkan, have you ever thought about a career in stand-up comedy? :D

Everything he's doing now is straight out of the Communist handbook - seize control of the media, seize control of all organs of power and eliminate anyone opposed to your views.
Polonius3  980 | 12275

eliminate anyone opposed to your views.

Somehow the PiS-bashers have yet to be weeded out of the public media, TVN (Telewizja Nonsensowa), Radio Bzdet, the Kosher Gazette and others of that ilk have yet to be closed down. In other words, you're just in the mood for a good rant? Happy ranting!

Your tactics are straight out of the PZPR rulebook : seize power, then use that power to insult, discredit and abuse any potential opposition. They were proud of you, eh?

Bronislaw Komorowski: Tomasz, You brainwash all the people that PO is the best party and at the end of the year I'll give you the medal, does it sound like a plan?

Tomasz Lis : Yes sir!

It's worse, worse than just seizing power. PiS isn't just putting its people in KRRiT (Krajowa Rada Radiofonii i Telewizji). KRRiT is in the Constitution in the same chapter as NIK (Najwyższa Izba Kontroli), and it's not a coincidence. It's because media, like NIK, are supposed to keep government in check. In most of Europe, media are supposed to do that. In countries like Belarus, Russia, Hungary media do the opposite - they're give government control over people. PiS is changing the role of media. Media council had issues with impartiality ? Clearly, the cure is to remove all doubt!

Conspiracy theory ?

Krystyna Pawłowicz, a prominent PiS politician:

"Public media are government media, and they're certainly political. They should serve the sovereign."

It's worse, worse than just seizing power.

Your lies are getting old. Stop repeating all that nonsense. You haven't been here wailing and complaining when for the last eight years so called public media have been working full steam as the PO propaganda tool. I'm sure those were North Korean standards.

In the light of those facts yours credibility is non existent.
